Interview: Emily Batty on Loneliness, Burnout & The 2020 Olympics
@ReformedRoadie: I'm sure I remember in one of her vlogs this year, she spoke abut how the travel/accommodation took up a large (majority?) portion of her income, but she needed to do it because home didn't have the training facilities. She might earn a lot, but it sounded like lots got swallowed with being away training for 9months of the year. So maybe the extra Can $ was needed?

Final Results: Les Gets World Cup XC 2019
Anyone else checked MvdP's lap times? Last 3 laps are stellar. He had an off race last season at KoppenbergCross, coming way down. That course has a brutal hill every lap, and starts up the hill. Sometimes that immediate effort he seems to go too deep, then takes a while to recover.

Interview: Martin Maes - "I'm Not Guilty... I Just Made a Stupid Mistake"
@SpecializedFTW: spot on. While they didn't have signal on the day, in hindsight they could have checked in the days after the event if the drugs taken were on the banned list or not. If they had, they would have seen, applied for a retrospective TUE, and it would have been granted.

Destination Showcase: Ch√Ętel Bike Park, France
Me and the family were thinking of staying in Chatel this summer (we want somewhere in the mountains for a week). But it sounds like it is a bit too hardcore for us. We won't have our MTBs with us, as we will be travelling from a weeks road racing at the European youth tour in Holland, and would need to hire. My teenagers have good skills but they race XC, and ideally we want something with a bit more green/blue and just enjoy the mountains, rather than hardcore reds/blacks. Any other suggestions?

Neff was using the dinner plate sprocket in the race (in the zigzag climb) -- check out the coverage to see. Yes she does like a high cadence, but even so, she felt she needed it in the race.

The XC Form Guide - Who's Going Fast Coming into the 2019 World Cup Season
Pedantic point, but... "32 of 33 races he entered" is not correct. He won 32 of the 33 races he finished (the only race he completed he didn't win was Koppenberg Cross). He entered another race but crashed, badly twisting his ankle and recorded a DNF. He still raced the next day and won.
