Brett Rheeder jumps the lower road gap and into the final jump. All the riders are loving the course and having a good time. Unlike the X-games course, the Les 2 Alpes course is a bit smaller and gives riders a few more options to do their tricks without going too big.
Martin Soderstrom tucking over the road.
Semenuk keeping it smooth on the last jump.
Martin Soderstrom showing off his butter style after winning the Speed and Style yesterday.
Thomas giving the thumbs up on the course.
Geoff Gulevich tabling over the road. The step down is a great feature, but may not offer much more than some flow.
Brett Rheeder whipping high on the upper course.
Kyle Strait checking out what he's up against today.
Gully corking out over the whale into the morning sun.
Further on up the road.
Fresh off of X-Games gold, Brett Rheeder flips out of the tail and looking good on the track.
Don't fall on the whale tail. Luckily it's not too hard to get down.
Semenuk keeping his flips straight, big and smooth.
Anthony Messere mega berm into the road gap.
Thomas Genon tail whipping over the town.
Anthony Messere dumping out over the town. Messere is pre-qualified for tomorrow's finals but threw down some banging runs this morning.
Break time for now. Qualification's coming up shortly, along with Teva Best Trick coming up tonight. Stay tuned!
I understand the dramatic effect you were going for with these shots, and you have a wicked eye for composition. but your in one of the most scenic mountain ranges in the world, not in some inner city lot, most have these would have been magnificent shots in colour. just my two cents..
I love B/W too, I just feel it has a time and place. By no means am I trying to say his photos are bad, I just feel that the alps are such a gorgeous scenery that 3 out of 5 should be in colour. His shots of the finals were great in my opinion!
I would assume diamond events like joyride, but otherwise virtually none. I heard he was focusing a lot more on filming and videos this year and is pulling away from comps this year
Whats with all the bs with bmx and slopers. Personally around here we all get along and have a blast either way. Both sports are sick and are progressing to unreal levels. I'm tired of the bickering between the both. Personally i enjoy riding both. WHY CAANTTTT WEEEE BE FRIENDSSSSS
Mais ferme donc ta gueule rodramsey tu polue toutes les conversations.. Vue ton profil t'as juste l'air d'un vieux con avec 10 ans de retard dans notre sport !
the x games have jaded the f out of me for slopestyle................
this course and everything else is gonna look small compared to 'the show'.............
Hey, if you don't like my comment then how about you tell me why? I just think its funny what is considered "not too big" these days. The course doesn't have any huge features but those jumps still seem pretty sizable to me.
Maybe you missed the last 75 xgames or 350 dew tours but those guys doing it way bigger than these slopers. I can do both 20" 26" 39" give any wheel on any bike. I a fan of all "extreme sports" and critique is healthy unless your too insecure to handle it.
RodRamsey, there's no question that bmx is sick but as to whether they are going way bigger in the xgames etc is debatable, maybe for the big air comp but that is short course with just one big jump and a quarter pipe. If you compare slopestyle to the bmx dirt jump course where they are doing long runs with multiple tricks I think the slopestyle is bigger.
Ya see its debatable, someone with brains on here. Who really going bigger? If you get offended by that question then log off and go see your shrink. They all badass riders and I have seen them all in action in person, thats where my perspective coming from. I not trying out whip Rheeder, just making valid points. Alot of the new slope style is stuff we saw 10 years ago in bmx. You really dont want to compare jump sizes because there a whole group of bmxers doing 80 foot gap insane shit. These slope style guys are awesome riders emulating what they see in the bmx circuit. Its not easy 4 trickin a big bike, and its not easy dropping 35 feet to concrete backwards with a barspin but they both making it happen. At my trails the 26 and 20 peeps have mutual respect. Doesnt sound like alot of you agree with concept, maybe we should do a throwdown. Nyquist vs Rheeder how about that one?
I see the truth hurts, I sorry you guys are soo sensative. Hows the track look? Any wind complaints or streakers on corse? I can send a french fluffer up there if you guys feeling tight.
RodRamsey, it's pretty clear you're just saying all this to get people flustered. If you're actually a person who says you "can do both 20", 26" " then you wouldn't be comparing them so critically. And then anyone who calls you out for trolling or for talking out of your ass, you are all of a sudden better than them and know more than them.
Hahuhahu wah? You get offended soo easy. In my hood you would get eaten up like a ham sandwhich. Why you guys such biches loool? Honestly you pinks set the standard for bike geeks. Dont worry its raining so skatepark on shutdown I be here to help you all day.
If 80ft huck is big for BMX, I remember someone did huck MTB over 150ft ... and Eric Barone goes mach5 135mph on MTB too.. what I mean is, we can't really compare this sport because it's not apple and apple ...http://m.pinkbike.com/news/full-monte-dirt-farm-world-record-weekend-2011.html
Sounds like we've got ourselves a badass
