You probably shortened it too much:) I've been riding demo single speed now a while and no regrets so far! Bit more silent and I could actually shorten the chain a bit more...

Yes I do. Gearing is 37T-16T. So far works perfect for me and I don't race...:)

You need a drill or a dremel multitool and some metal polish from a local hardwarestore. With a drill it´s faster to polish the surface than with rubbing it with hands

On what frame? If you happen to have VP Free, I have few more tips; 1. use lots of paint remover. 2. wrap it with some cellophane, cling wrap or what ever you call it to maximize the effect. 3. wait atleast 20 minutes 4. Scrape it off or if possible, use pressure washer--> paint comes off super easily 5. The rear triange (rear frame) is a bit tricky. It has 2 layers of paint or at least my black frame had... But suppose it´s the same with all the colors... 6. Polishing measures patience and you probably already know that you need powertools... The whole process might take up to 20 hours or even more, but I bet it´s worth it! Have a blast mate!!;)

Well I went to the hardware-store and bought some "Nitromors"-paint remower. If you use this, you need to protect your eyes and hands properly, this stuff really burns when it´s in contact with skin. I spreaded it on the bike and then just scrached the paint off. And I didn´t polish it at all. It took me several hours and I don´t recommend it to anybody. Now I would just take my frame to sand blowing...:)
