The passing of BMX legend Kevin Robinson was an event that none of us were expecting.

bigquotesKevin had the biggest heart. He is eager for every day. Like he was a little kid going to a carnival. He is enthusiastic for every step he took. He is the proudest parent, loyal, loving, caring and tough as hell. He is one of a kind. He could have the softest heart, but may kick your ass, but only because he loved you. There is no one as tough and sweet as KRob.Mat Hoffman

bigquotesWe’ve known Kevin Robinson for many years, meeting him through our Red Bull family. Just a couple of weeks ago Aaron and I had dinner with him here in NH while he was heading to one of his famous talks/demo up North. We both left that dinner saying “wow, K-Rob is seriously one of the kindest humans ever.” For someone who had accomplished so much in life, he spent the entire dinner talking about his awesome kids, his amazing wife and how much he loves doing his inspirational talks, how connecting with people is his passion.

The world lost one of the good ones. We’ll miss you K-Rob.

Man. I am sorry for everyone who knows him. Just this week I started writing a Just In Case piece I plan on videoing for my boys about things like overcoming adversity, pursuing your passions, going at life at 100%, never giving up, the importance of traveling, living a healthy lifestyle, financial responsibility etc. etc. Not that it will ever replace me being present in my boy's lives if I die.....It's probably more for me than anything.

On a more lighter note. Did Chase just hit NE Style in the snow?

I really like the idea of the "Just in Case piece" really cool! And yeah that's NE Style with a fresh coating! Smile

Thats a great idea, hopefully your boys will never need to read it. On your lighter note, hitting the pinkbike drop and tombstone in the snow....event looking at those in perfect conditions terrifies me

Seriously, a half lid, plus bike, in the snow. That drop is no joke.

I saw Kevin perform in CT a couple of summers ago when he scored a new world record for landing the longest back flip on a BMX. So sad to hear this and my heart goes out to Kevin's family and close friends, he was one of my favorite riders to watch growing up and will definitely be missed. Ride on Kev!

I always felt like Kevin picked up where Hoffman kind of left off with the go big or go home attitude. I couldn’t believe he did a second run after that world record backflip attempt crash. Dude was a beast. I feel sorry for his family, especially his kids.

It is things like this that give reality to the phrase "life is short". Sounds like if everyone tried to see the world like Kevin, it actually would be a better place! Very nice tribute Aaron!

Such a bummer man. No shit life is short, i'm 40 now. How in the fuk did that even happen? I remember when I was big into BMX watching Kevin rip in the X-games with the other legends. I think I have a Road Fools with him in it too, I think. On VHS of course. R.I,P. bud, hope you're shredding wherever you are. Condolences to his family

Moving video, and a very good use of the Alan Watts speech. The snow falling through the cracks in the bridge @1:39 as you rode over almost gave me goosebumps...

I'm 'only' 33, and maybe it's the increasing responsibilities of adulthood, but lately I've become keenly aware of how important it is to make time to do what makes you happy. In some ways, it's created a sense of urgency which occasionally veers into FOMO territory. But on the other hand, I'm much more appreciative and thankful when I'm in the moment.

Love and sympathy to Kevin's family and friends.

The passing of Kevin Robinson made me watch as much footage as I could find. Man what a great person. It also sent me on a stream of Dave Mirra and Colin Winkleman tributes. Mirra's passing was tough having ridden the animal house when it was up and running. Stunned and bummed for Kevin's friends and family.

Shit. That is a bummer for his family. Is there a gofundme set up yet?? And I just turned 40 this year. Scary shit! Hug your family every single day!!

Fantastic piece man, truly touching. Losing your heroes is always tragic, it's that much worse when they're as rad as K-Rob was!

In other news, does anyone know what that speech playing in the background was?

 Alan Watts.

Peace and Sympathy for the Robinson family. Always feels like a punch in the gut whenever I hear about the loss of another really, really cool dude. "Better to have a short life spent on what you love doing, than a long one spent in miserable way...". Took the loss of my own brother to help me understand that, and the constant loss of friends and heroes to reaffirm it! Ride and Live like your fiends, brothers, and heroes are watching you because tomorrow is not promised to anyone!

Awesome video and an endearing tribute to a legend. As someone else posted, the backing track was spot on and it also gave me goosebumps. Sincere condolences to K Rob's family and everyone who knew him.

SO SHOCKED!!! Kevin was one of the OG legends of the sport as much as Mirra or Hoffman. He never stopped riding and innovating. Rest in Peace big guy!

 Passed away from a stroke.

I’m not pointing fingers or making accusations but with the punishment ramp riders put their bodies through, I wonder if it’s some way related. A stroke in a person in the shape he was in doesn’t seem right.
