This year I wanted to focus on building some true freeride features to film and ride for my season edit. After many days of scoping and building, it was awesome to see some of my ideas come to life. The process of visualizing, building, and riding something that scares you truly is an indescribably rewarding feeling.

Although I find myself spending more and more of my time on my DH bike, I have made a point to not give up the DJ bike as that's what got me into mountain biking in the first place

Valemount British Columbia has some of the best trails I've ever ridden, so it only made sense to spend some time filming there.

He definitely did but I'm confused about the title of the video.... almost all of that was shredding a bike park and not "freeride lines"... did I miss something here?

@scott-townes: I built quite a few of the one off freeride features myself and they are not in a bikepark; although there is some bikepark footage for sure, I don't think the title that is far off.

@pgripper: Maybe I had too high of expectations with that first line which was insanely sick. I felt like there were maybe 4-5 features in there that fell into that category. The rest was bikepark and those well crafted jumps in the woods. Its overall a dumb point to make though because the edit was sick.

Curious as to whether you rode with hands inside the grips to that degree before wide bars become the norm. I always put the edge of my pinky side off the grips for years, but recently went wide and started putting hands on bars fully. Rented a bike with 800mm and ended up with hands 1 inch inside the same way yours appear to be. It made me feel less stable despite the fact that I suppose my hands were in the same relative posiiton to my shoulders. Just curious as I say. Great riding.

A comfortable grip but something feels off? Find or make 800mm hande bars minus 2 inches. I think you subconsciously know there is a safety hazard if you clip a tree or something with the "tag" end of your handlebars.

Fantastic last shot! Tricked you into thinking it was shorter than it was. The effect is breath-holding!

I should be impressed but I watched rampage just a few days ago, my perspective is still distorted.
