Not a racer but love to hit up the knarliest trails...rock gardens, roots, jumps you name it. Sure i can ride a lighter bike but love the confidence of riding a burly bike. Sort of a freerider?

Field Trip: Is Buying a Used Mountain Bike Worth It?
If you know how to build up a bike and take advantage of closeout sales, building up a “nos” frame can save you some money. I built up my “new” 2007 Marin Quake into a capable park bike for under $1200. Brand new the bike would have cost over $4500. Plus it doesn’t “look like a session.” Lol

10 Things You Only See on Racers' Bikes
I've always run a custom cassette on my dh bike. Even single speed to finish up last season with a broken shifter. It's the closest I can get to a dishless rear wheel on 135mm spacing.

I don’t think they were claiming to be the first 9 inch brake rotor. Hayes has been making them since the early to mid 2000s. It just wasn’t common until recently for people to use them (probably because of the advent of 29er dh bikes).

Video: Matt Jones Learns the History of Marin Bikes
I love The old Marin Quake frame that I bought nos and built up as a park bike. The thing plows through pretty much any rock garden I put it through. It even pedals really well too, even though it weighs 42 pounds, haha.

Sage Titanium Announces Powerline 29er Hardtail
It would be a pretty sick bike for the technical single track on the east coast. Near where I live, there’s lots of climbing (sometimes more than descending ????)

Opinion: What Would You Pay to Keep Air Inside Your Tires?
@8088yl0n: it's the same when people say anything other than 650b and 29er enduro bikes are the future. Or that wheel size alone doesn't make the difference between older and newer bikes and how they ride.
