Not a racer but love to hit up the knarliest trails...rock gardens, roots, jumps you name it. Sure i can ride a lighter bike but love the confidence of riding a burly bike. Sort of a freerider?

Loris and Luca's Santa Cruz V10 29ers - Val di Sole DH World Cup 2018
I don't see the big deal about the 8 speed cassette. As far as I know most pros use that setup because they tend to double shift a full road cassette. I personally use a 6 speed 14-28 on my d.h. sled.

Review: Commencal's New Meta AM 29 Team
Is that freeride that I heard? I disagree with the notion on press fit bottom brackets. I have one on my road bike and God forbid one gram of dust gets in the bb area. The ride just gets filled with creaks

Review: NX Eagle - SRAM's New Affordable 12-Speed Drivetrain
Might be a worthy upgrade to my niner when the drivetrain wears out. Currently has 2x10 X7 and only use the small ring on epic uphill or if I'm scaling unfamiliar trails. Probably wont need a 50t cog though.

Time Capsule: 2001 - Pinkbike's 20th Anniversary
I remember seeing a picture of a large yellow monstrosity called the rubber ducky. A brooklyn machine works dual chain driven steel fs frame with like 10 inches of travel and a mx fork.and rear shock. And a floating rear brake. All weighing in at almost 80 pounds. And I also remember reading the story on how the owner used to ride across the brooklyn bridge back and forth between the shop and his apartment with it. Craziest part about it was that I wanted a bike just like that but had no skills or need for it lol.

Bike Check: Graham Agassiz's Kona Operator - Black Sage FEST 2018
@jaame: I think I remembered the sizes wrong. 28in. is the newer standard, which is labeled 622x25 or 622x54 on a 29er. Ironically it's the 27inch that's bigger at 635mm bsd lol.

Exotic Brakes and a Single-Crown, Single-Sided Fork - Albstadt World Cup XC
@DGWW: yeah name-wise the tacomas been around since the 90's. They are practically the same class truck as the original pickup (just like the t100 is to the tundra).
