Hey follow my line!! Ehhh fuck no!!

Some filthy techno for the next edit would be banging!

Obviously I knew they do a lot of takes, but when you watch videos I always imagine they are just riding along, that's the funnest part of the illusion, like you could just ride down the hillside pulling moves like this.

At the end, after he's tried them time after time I bet he can ride those lines pretty well... he does have the chops and balls to do so. I'd love to see a raw RAW film of what he's capable of doing - guess what I mean is where is *his* level of "mediocrity" (i.e. his "averageness")...

This video was super fun. It is really fascinating to see the progression of the trial run. Plus the laugh of Chris after barely missing a injury is exuberating.

Chris is a bloody legend. I love these videos that show that the pros are human after all. Gives all us Hacks the inspiration to keep pushing the our own boundaries. If you don't succeed, try and try again.

These fails are great, but they still don't do justice to the difficulty of the lines. To clean those lines with that kind of flow takes perfect tire and pedal placement, ie. years of practice as a trials rider and sessioning the same line for ages.

I wonder how often he is swapping out forks on his bikes given the number of bails on some of the difficult and tricky stunts he attempts. Hello rock meet fork stanchion. Okay, Fox, I think I need another fork, this one is toast.

Reminds me of Jamie Nicoll's stanchion during Trans BC Enduro. It's good to have sponsors.

I'll echo my previous comment on the previous article: THIS is what free ride should be all about. I mean the way he works to pull of those transitions (i.e. the manual on the rock + drop off) on whatever *natural* obstacle he finds is incredible: just look at that nose press into that tight switchback (0:32).
And yeah - bummer that her hurt himself again... here are my vibes to a speedy and full recovery Chris!!

He's a case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, put him on a bike and he goes wild.

Watching this makes you appreciate the clean edit so much more. Practice makes perfect for Akrigg. Practice makes practice makes practice for me.

Get better soon ,well down to earth rider ,must be hours and hours practice for years and years and masses of Talent ,one of the best ,and I love the Mongoose .Peachy.
  • + 4
That's some insane talent and skill from all three of them to pull that off. Went back for a second watch
  • + 5
So you ARE human after all!

Even watching his crash edits and hearing him talking makes me want to get out and ride. For me he is the most inspiring rider. Ever.

What is it with these Scottsmen and all their shenanigans on bicycles? Is the beer, sheep or cold weather? Seriously what's going on across the pond and how do they churn out such hard core riders?

2:28, how is that even remotely possible?
  • + 1
It kind of bursts a magic bubble created by the edit when I see him fall.
  • + 1
You wonder if a bike's a bike when you see this guy riding Mongoose, but Mongoose has really turned it around as well. I guess you have to judge it on a bike by bike basis like you'd expect.

 tenacious rider for sure.

 Keeping it real
