Grand Prize
Season Overall

At the end of the season the overall Fantasy Downhill Champion will get a Specialized Demo Race worth $7,000 USD in any size of your choosing.

All-out speed has always been the Demo’s target, and with the Demo Race it’s no different. Introducing a new flexible wheel-size frame design that allows riders to take advantage of a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear wheel, it’s a special blend that’s long been tested by World Champ Loic Bruni looking for the perfect balance of traction and maneuverability, but only just green-lighted by the UCI this past year. Not that it stopped the Demo Race from racking up both the Downhill World Championship and overall World Cup titles in its very first season... Learn more about the Specialized Demo Race here.

@garrett-g: my biggest decision this week was Kolb or Kerr... my thinking was that Kolb having to come down last for the first time in his career would be too much pressure for him... I was wrong!

 thank you mate!

I thought with my team set up it would have been one of my worst results. Ended up being my second best placing. Has anyone deciphered how to actually do well in these? Is it more common to win with a random assortment of 'good' finishers, or is it more common to just pick the number one riders and then finish out with some ok riders who punched above their weight for their price...

 It's all about timed training
  • 1 1
@CarbonShmarbon: TFW ur line up smashes it in qualies and then chokes on finals -_- we need those alt results of who won fantasy qualies and fantasy TTs.

I don't have enough fashion sense to compete in the fantasy track walk event.
  • 2 0
I look at the statistics for who (on average) wins more points per cost. I spend more on women than men per person typically bc the top women earn more points consistently (smaller field). Then I look at timed training results, and try to make a subjective call about who can translate a fast TT run to a race run, who is on a win streak/building momentum, who is being talked about/looks confident on the vital raws/wynTV trackwalks/etc, and finally a check for anybody injured or not at an event. Also keep in mind tendencies for riders to do better at certain points in the season, e.g. Vali Hoell seems to excel late season but struggle early on.

This year the stats game was dominated by Rogge, Dunne, Meier-Smith, Levesque, Iles, Hatton, Dooley, Vernon, Amaury (despite the cost), Zwar and both Kerrs for men and Hoffman, Hrastknik and Farina for women.

My strategy got me to 173rd out of 23,456 this year so maybe its good for a top 1% team, but maybe not winning a new demo. P.S. I got murdered in Champs, stats for WC overalls don't translate well at all

Congrats Stinky! I did not do too well in the DH league this year, but I am happy that I am on the lead of the XC fantasy! Oh wait...
  • 1 0
 thank you mate!
  • 2 1
I miss my Stinky for some odd reason. All that pushing up and bombing down hoping nothing falls off!
  • 2 1
Congrats Stinky! I am so glad a real person / non-bot, won this prize. Enjoy!
  • 1 2
I'm curious, do you think a bot has won before?
  • 1 0
 thank you mate!
  • 1 0
@DoubleCrownAddict: it seems awfully suspicious that people with no real PB participation and accounts a couple months old win ome of the larger giveaways
  • 2 0
 @meathooker: I've been here since 2010 btw
  • 2 0
@iwantstinky: oh I know - snooped your profile as soon as I saw who won! Glad an OG PB’er won. Congrats!
  • 1 1
@meathooker: It's just PBers making 100 separate accounts to increase their odds of winning.
  • 3 1
give that man a stinky, gudamnit!
  • 2 1
My first year on the fantasy circuit, proper enjoyed the racing and the picking. Got 62nd overall, well happy with that!
