Homeboy can ride some skinnies. Geez.

Where is the 3rd place video shot? Gorgeous trail.

 I think it's Tahiti.
  • 9 0
I think he's submitted entries in the previous years and they're all insane.

@valhallascott: hahaha thanks for the chuckle

@twoD2F: You're right - here is his video on youtube, and it says Tahiti in the description. Awesome. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bGNluWXdaI

Shouldn't this have waited until ramage happened? Gta believe there'll be some contenders

That second place video isn't even a line... I'm not sure how anybody thinks this video belongs in this contest.

YEAH DAVE!!!!! WOOOOOO! Congrats, on behalf of the @NSMBA .

@canadaka is gonna be so stoked #makebcskinnyagain

Fuck yah! Keeping the North Shore heritage alive!

the gopro makes me want to come out and ride over there even more!

If this is a deserved victory by Herr, it's because he rode technically better than the others. The third place video is definitely a gorgeous trail, but it feels like a couple of the jumps were slightly cased, and while the low sun is pretty, it keeps a lot of the trail in shadow. The El Toro drop is certainly iconic, and a serious send, but it's a bit of a dorp to flat, as we used to say in the Josh Bender era.Dave rode an artistically interesting trail with serious technical skill.

Alex deserves some cash for sending himself down that chute
  • 12 1
Right? By far the craziest line out of all them.
  • 2 0
Damn I dont know about this contest but IT was soo Sketchy and Awesome. Im wondering if he done that twice.... :d
  • 16 2
Is $2500 going to cover the deductible on Dylan's rotator-cuff surgery for the injury he sustained from all those high-5's???
  • 14 3
A wood trail wins huh, best line.. more like the only line. At least its better then running around cheering in a school yard for 10 minutes.

Very hard to nail all the skinnies on Immonator. Wonder how many takes it took?
  • 1 0
He has a bunch of alternate views / takes on his IG, really interesting.
  • 1 0
He posted this on Reddit's mountain bike subreddit and answered that question, though I don't remember what he said now. Six maybe? It was in the last week if you wanted to find the thread.
  • 1 0
@MarcusBrody: I think he said he did about 20 runs, with 5-6 of them being clean
  • 3 0
I liked the skinny riding, certainly the most interesting and well done. The Tahiti line was cool, but terrible light quality, the big jump in the schoolyard was hardly an epic go pro video, but it was a big drop. How a video of a meg avalanche could be a winner is beyond me.

fuck ya Dave!! fuck ya Dylan!!!

I couldn't pick one, to be honest. . .. all of them were super awesome .. ...

Congrats to the winner! The Bryan Regnier line is by far the most beautiful and for me the most fun to watch. Would have got my vote for winner. I think the 2nd vid is cool but doesn't really belong in this contest.

That skinnies trail "Immonator" pretty much ended at the back door of my old house. So I've ridden and been humbled on it numerous times. The speed he flies through the trail is insane/impressive I have to say!
  • 3 3
I kind of think it looks sped up...idk.
  • 1 0
@takeiteasyridehard: You should look up some of his trials videos, I'm quite sure he's competed in a handful of UCI events. Dude's a rider for sure. Not sped up.
  • 1 0
@takeiteasyridehard: he addressed that accusation in the comments on the vote. He apparently had 3 clean runs that day. There are other shots of him running it on IG. Also check you his YouTube channel. It's talent not editing tricks.
  • 17 0
@takeiteasyridehard: Not sure what to say other than this is definitely not sped up. Filmed, exported and uploaded in 24 FPS (right click on the video and get 'stats for nerds' to see the frame rate). I have about 16 takes, 4-5 of which are clean top to bottom runs within a few seconds of this one which I'd be happy to post as well. Those 16 takes are in addition to sessioning a few of the tricky spots before I started laying down top to bottom runs, not to mention that 50+ other attempts I've done over the years in both the wet and dry. I'm also not just coasting down the trail. When you see the video bobbing up and down or get a sense of sudden acceleration, it's because I'm ratcheting, pedaling and pumping every chance I get on the skinnies and the dirt to pick up more speed. I'm not questioning how it looks to you, but I wanted to put this out there because it's frustrating as a rider to have any doubts about whether your run is authentic. Here's a few angles of me warming up on some of these lines to give you a better sense of how I ride: www.instagram.com/p/B32lwXCHiFM

@dangerousdave: Double D, no one should doubt you, period. It blows that you have to have a negative vibe come intercept such a positive moment.... but you know it is real, and all of those that matter do too. That line and bike handling were absolute top shelf, all day!! The view and stabilization make it a total treasure to watch and I live for tech riding and have watched it multiple times in the past several minutes. You deserved the win hands down. Anyone that rides tech/skinnies/etc knows how insane that line is and at speed... well done sir!!
  • 1 0
@dangerousdave: If anything, you could have taken it as a compliment. That's definitely the fastest I have ever seen anyone ride skinnies. I was just saying it's so fast, it appears speed up. Great job, and congratulations!
  • 1 0
@takeiteasyridehard: No, I dont believe its sped up at all. It's just a testament to how damn fast @dangerousdave is! That and a reminder of how damn slow I am...
  • 1 0
@takeiteasyridehard: Sorry! I've had a few people tell me it WAS sped up and that I was cheating so now anytime I see similar comments I immediately get defensive. Cheers!

 Congrats Dave, Deserved!
  • 4 3
Hmm, No.1 not my style of riding and No. 2. is a drop to flat, BUT holy smoke, those are some seriously talented riders and amazing lines. Thanks GoPro for showing us the other side of riding. This was awesome.

  • 1 0
Oscar's line was sick, I can't believe he didn't get 3rd place, goes to show most bots like bright showy colors, full disclosure I voted Stark for President. Hahaha
  • 3 1
How did the 3 worst videos win this contest? I think the criteria needs to be solidified
  • 1 0
The only way any of us will win a go pro now is if the other two don't respond. Let's just hope that what happens.
  • 3 0
 CongratsDave!!!!
  • 5 2
