Kirt Voreis had an idea of getting a photo scrubbing a hillside and needed a location. After scouting a bit we found a cool spot known for freestyle motocross in the Southern California hills. Kirt was doing all kinds of scrubs and sent one so fat went into a 360. He figured hey might as well go all the way around and gave it a go. Kirt putting in 100%.
Quick someone let this guy know that 29" wheels mean you're not allowed to scrub and whip. Only go straight. We have data; they are quantifiably less fun.
It's got wheels. You can ride it.
Ridings fun.
Don't ignore the very clear mathematics behind why it's slightly less agile than a smaller wheel.
As I would not ignore that it might roll faster.
The decision is yours to make.
Depending upon how you ride it may not even be a compromise.
And for others it certainly is.
@jflb: Was only a compromise until I got got a wider stiffer wheelset that was also lighter.. That's where it really came to life for me.. Agility is a non issue at my height/size.

@jflb: That was when trail/rake geometry was still designed for 26 wheels, but was applied to 27.5 and 29. Now that each wheel size has its trail and rake designed properly they are more agile.
Look at that, an answer from the man himself. Thanks for taking the time to answer. Don't know why the negative props but oh well. It's just I heard the sound on a couple videos and wondered. Thanks again.
My old 26 inch carbon bike was stealth as can be through the woods. It was absolutely silent. I sure wish it would have stayed together. I never slid it down the pavement so I do not know.
Whadayoo know?
