No, thanks. While I do like Devinci bikes and would love to own the new Spartan, I don't endorse companies that thrive on exploiting private informations and privacy of fellow Internet users (eg Facebook).

Have you ever seen proof the companies ever pick a winner in these sort of sweepstakes? Me either.

I have to add that I for one dont have social media, and refuse to get it as I believe it's one of the main drivers of depression and suicide today. It wont be long before that is the number one cause of death.
  • 17 5
@jomacba: you honestly believe that social media driven suicide will soon be the number ONE cause of death? It's a huge problem no doubt, but that seemes madly far fetched
  • 7 3
@N-60: maybe so, but as somebody who has seen its effects first hand, my perception is based off evidence, not speculation.

So you never use a cell phone, web browser, or even subscribe to physical magazine, have a credit card, a house/car/ loan, etc. You realize nothing is 'Free' right. They are able to give that bike away by getting something in return.

@honda50r: We'll be announcing the winner tomorrow on our Instagram Smile

 @kyytaM: Here here!

Multi million dollar companies begging for likes & followers is a joke.

@m1dg3t: Welcome to the new world of reaching target markets. Vast majority of small, medium and large companies (even billion dollar ones) are using this approach. No different than mail in/dial in contest 15-20 years ago, or even older. Time changes. Good luck finding any bike company NOT wanting social media exposure.

@bman33: i'm guessing Sick wants a little less exposure at the moment Smile

 @jomacba: anecdotes ≠ evidence
But I'm totally onboard with the social media scepticism. Insta, snap, etc. are addictive, distort reality and should be consumed in moderation.

 pinkbike is social media.
  • 3 3
@jomacba: This IS social media, dipshit. Pinkbike comments can be ridiculous, but I'm pretty sure no one has killed themselves over Waki's comments.
  • 2 1
@jomacba: Totally agree with you, would love to win that bike, but never gonna subscribe to a social media to enter a contest.

For those who say that pinkbike is a social media :
I subscribed to pinkbike in order to be able to buy/sell and use the forum. I don't consider it to be a social media, I could access almost everything without having an account, and there is the differences in my opinion.

@pinkbikeaudience: some of the old fantasy rounds never seemed to get any winners or is that just me? Seems like they would only award when 6 out of 6 entries were answered correctly, remember YT doing this

@m1dg3t: it's cheap and effective advertising.
  • 3 0
@BaldBilly: Yes pinkbike is social, however I agree with okidou on this one. I originally signed up nearly 20 years ago mind you, to use the buy and sell. I primarily use it today to stay caught up on news.
That being said, unfortunately it's people like you who feel the need to lash out with name calling one person's opinion doesnt fit yours, who are the problem with social media today. Rather than politely disagreeing in a civil manner, and keeping the topic relevent, you resort to name calling and belittling in order to make yourself feel better about yourself. Grow up.

@okidou: Agreed, though it would ultimately be classified as social media, pinkbike doesnt use algorithms to identify, and ultimately guide people to negative information.

@okidou: Wrong. You need an account with PB to access the best part. The Below Threshold comments.

@Boardlife69: you have a point there!

@honda50r: I've won quite a few online contests, including for a $400 winter coat, $600 in bike tools, and a bunch of other stuff. Sure, I'm just some guy on the internet, but I really have had good luck with contests.
  • 1 0
@dockboy: not me... I've had the worst luck... U sure your not cheating??
  • 2 0
@pinkbikeaudience: never did announce the winner..

  • 17 0
Ya, I'll give you my email address for a contest, but all these social media hoops. . . no thanks.
  • 15 1
It is uncool to do this type of contest here on Pinkbike now, PLEASE all companies take note! #onebuttonentry

Instawhat? Less social media, more riding
  • 21 5
Why are you on Pinkbike then?
  • 1 0
I thought that if you went for a ride but didn't at least post it to your Insta story, then the ride didn't actually happen.
  • 10 1
Win a bike FEED THE MACHINE PS delete your FB and Insta accounts now and do your part to save the world from unfettered social engineering.
  • 14 3
 Instagram sucks arse.

Comments here are good. Maybe there is hope for the future. Fuck social media.

If I win I formally request an aluminum one. Not because I think carbon is bad, but because I think it's super fucking awesome that you guys manufacture your aluminum frames in Canada.
  • 3 0
Can you just make that frame color an option, and not make people have to be in IG? Please?
  • 5 0
 Not into social media
  • 6 2
 No, thanks.

Never thought I’d see so many anti social media post but do forums count?
  • 2 1
This comment section is breaking down fast. They're giving a nice bike away for free, and just bitching and moaning everywhere, yikes.
  • 1 0
I can follow them, but I only got an Insta account to enter contests so no "Instafriends" - who can I tag? Hmmmm...ah welll, time for a ride.
  • 3 3
This is a bike for a Warrior. I'm a Warrior (W.O.A.) and i love Devinci since 1996 but we never ride a Spartan. It's time now!
