 I just think ibis makes the ugliest bikes right now. Rode one and it was meh. Plus the yoke driven shock is a no from me. @tmadison12:

 There's a grom on youtube that rides one. I think his channel is called OneMTB. The kid is pretty cool. Builds little dirt kickers in the yard to learn crank flips and stuff.

 @freeridejerk888: I’m not gonna lie. I own an hd4 and I think it’s dull at slow speeds. Once the speed picks up is when it really comes to life and is a ton of fun. I demoed waaayy too many bikes before I found the HD4.

Also I understand your point about the yoke driven shocks, but I think it’s really important to understand with yokes are that the pivot points are 90* to each other. This eliminates vast majority of shock side-loading issues that the big S and Trek created when we saw a ton of shock failures attached to yokes. Shoot, that’s the whole reason why BikeYoke was born as a (totally awesome) company! Essentially the yoke pivots on ibis bikes (and many many others now) act just like a u-joint.

 @DaFreerider44: the shock will hold up. The pedestal it’s mounted to is under compression.

Only issues I have with eminent bikes is the kinematics. They advertise it as “works with both coil and air.” Wrong. These bikes were designed with air in mind or coil with a progressive spring. And even with an air shock you need to max out the tokens and the HSC to have any progressivity. Frame size, their size L felt like a small. Like less than 450mm reach it was 438mm. Which made no sense, I met the CEO, that guy is around my height, 5’10”.

The pros is that it rides and climbs well. It feels like a trek going downhill, so ground hugging. But up hill, feels like a billy goat. Trek always had a problem with pedal bob, eminent doesn’t.

So yea, two reason may I never ended up buying one. Kinematics and frame size.

 @kroozctrl: You lost me - you say that it climbs and descends well, but the say you won't buy one due to kinematics... Please explain.

 @spencerbrawn: The kinematics for anti squat and anti rise are top notch, but the leverage ratio was trash IMO. If you talk to the CEO, he really hypes that it can be equipped with a air or coil shock. Well not if the leverage ratio is linear. Linear leverage ratios need an air shock to make the most out of the bike. And even with an air shock, it still needed a custom tune. Max volume spacers and max HSC. Which I did mention these in the other comment, must have glazed over it.

Basically if you get the frame and put you own Fox Float X2 without their custom tune, it will bottom out on step downs and drops. But itll feel good on the descends, rock gardens and what not.

 I have an OEM Manix Xfusion dropper and would probably buy one aftermarket. They’re super simple and to service you just get a replacement cartridge. No air to refill or adjust. I’m sure there are better ones but it gets the job done and I’ve not had a problem with it on two different bikes.

 They don’t exist anymore because AG helped JS off the LSD trip

 Good luck getting any bike right now. Anything decent seems like a 6+ month wait.
