They should give these new gopros to the worst videos. The people who need them the most.

I was thinking the exact same thing! So we give the new GoPro's to the winners, who already have nice GoPro's and can use them well... makes sense. Wink EDIT: Facepalm The GoPro's are the random draw. Please ignore me and my late-night stupidity. Razz

 When's the top ten announced

Do these seem rigged to anyone else?
The avg Joe (myself) doesn’t use a GoPro like they’re judging criteria suggests...

Story (25%) - sry not trying to be Hollywood, just want to remember the cool stuff and family on rainy days.
• Location (25%) - not making special trips to try to win this thing.
• Shot Creativity (25%) - ummm yeah I’m limited here.
• Capture & Edit X-factor (25%) - let’s face it, I’m as good at editing and capture as as bangs are at creating universes... I don’t have billions of years.

I use mine for not only rides but family photos and videos because it’s great not just as an action cam. This seems geared towards the pro editors and ppl who do it for a living. But it is cool that they do it. The Hero 7 Black looks legit.

Just add a simple edit and hope for the random draw ;-)

Edit: Just saw you only need to vote.

I'm an "average joe" and the criteria is quite in line with how I use my cameras. Why would they have a contest and award prizes without expecting some thought and creativity? Now, I would personally remove professional riders and photographers from the contest, who often have special access to equipment and terrain. But otherwise, I think it's good.

@BiNARYBiKE: Professional means they make money doing it. Why shouldn't they be allowed to enter a contest where they can win money? Athletes and photographers affiliated with gopro are the only ones who shouldn't be allowed to enter.

That's like complaining soccer is rigged because you lack the hand-eye coordination and cardiovascular conditioning of trained players. Don't like the game? Don't play. Or hell, give it a go and see how you fare against others. Only one elite person is going to win the Boston Marathon, but hundreds (thousands?) compete for the sake of competition.

whats so hard to understand, why would gopro choose you when you obviously have no effort or dedication.

I would love too but since Gopro pulled Gopro Studio from their website and replaced it with a near useless app my editing days have ground to a halt
  • 1 0
Use Imovie i use it and it works well for me.
  • 1 0
I second this very strongly! All of my GoPro timelapses are now just strings of thousands of useless photos without Studio...

I can't agree strongly enough. Quik is garbage and since I don't get paid for this I use all the free software which doesn't even allow 1080p. My assumption is the winners shoot 4k.
  • 1 0
@heffernw: iMovie is free. Exports 1080 and 4k!
  • 5 0
I already vote for Jordie. Please draw my name for a free GoPro
  • 2 0
Video bumper doesnt actually seem to load in quik for android, is there a compatible version available somewhere?
  • 1 0
 Same here

Stoked to have entered, hope I can get myself back on a Mtb making videos again. The hero 7 looks pretty sick. internal gimbal pretty much.

Is the Rylo still the better camera? Anyone like editing software that it comes with (I think it does right?)
  • 2 0
 rylo is potato cam
  • 1 0
Ha ha don't have a GoPro or camera to enter lol. Would love one though.
  • 1 0
So stoked to see these videos!!!
  • 1 0
Does anyone own a GoPro 7? What do they think? I might get one.
  • 3 0
It is next level! The video quality is outstanding and the photos come out superb. I upgraded right away from a Hero6 Black and couldn't be happier!
  • 1 0
Love ours! The footage is amazingly smooth when mounted on a helmet.
  • 1 0
Personally think the worst one should win a GoPro...
  • 1 0
I submitted the video but it doesn't show up...
  • 1 2
Can I use Sony Vegas or adobe after effects for editing? Or is it literally just gopro's "editing" software?
  • 2 0
Yes. Step "3. Open your prefered editing program."
