Time for a name change: Annie Fast!

 @railin: Very good sir!

Enjoyed Neff's can't-stop-crying reaction to winning--feeling the feels. Congrats to all. Also thought Nick commentator guy did well. Not chatty, but all meat, no filler. Worked well with Rob.

At the end Rob's hunting for the word to describe Phang and Nick chimes in with "Bollard".

Jolanda has always has seemed like such a cool & real chick! The Rob Meets with her was one of my favorites. She has such a vibrant personality!

I feel like I've heard Nick Craig do announcing before... cyclocross or women's road broadcasts maybe?
  • 4 0
Nick Craig the Look racer from the 90s?

Congratulations to Helen and many the others! Nice WCs, Australia! Really enjoyed it!

From Rio disaster, to this successful World championship. Great come back from Pauline. Next year back like in 2015.
  • 1 0
It seems she's back she had results on the road too. I hope she continues next season where she left off now...
There are no "if"s in this sport but she had a flat tire and still finished on the podium!

The Swiss seem to be more technically proficient than most XC teams on the rock gardens and flowy descents. Jolanda (on a hardtail, no less) and Nino certainly make it look easy.

Kross is setting up inhouse carbon production. Hopefully will be able to support the girls with a decent duallie next season.

 In Poland?
  • 2 0
 @WAKIdesigns: thats correct ????
  • 2 2
 @makaron: Excited!
  • 2 0
@WAKIdesigns: heh like a lot of poles. Todays success is going to raise the brand awareness to the next level

Warner was hilarious making out that if you step out of your front door in Australia you will die from some sought of animal bite. Those "drop bears" will get you though. HAHAHAHAHA
  • 3 0
They will bud, drop bears aint no joke
  • 5 0
We chuck drop bears on the Barby on OZ day....
  • 4 1
Meh... We do polar bears over here

I've never criticized RedBull for coverage before, because it's free, but it was a mess (at least during the women's race) today. Wrong graphics, no audio, failed cell phone call with Bart, etc. Seems like RedBull selling the rights and the broadcast being reaired by several networks screwed things up.
  • 5 0
Pretty sure Red Bull didn't sell the rights. I thought that was a UCI thing.
  • 2 1
Pretty sure I heard Warren apologysing for this mess arguing that this race was not produced by Red Bull but by some American TV company or something
  • 3 1
 @freebikeur: americans. am i right?
  • 1 0
I think you need to blame UCI instead of RedBull on this one...
  • 2 0
I think complaining about free live coverage is a little bit no sense. Few years ago, this stuff was be on tv only in very few countries. I think warner said the broadcast was Australian, which is what to expect.
  • 4 0
The filming was done by Australian broadcasting company sbs. Redbull bought the streaming rights. Warner and Nick were commentating from outside Australia (UK I'm guessing) so the phone call to Bart was and international call and yea Rob was apologetic about the mix ups.
Good news for the DH is that warner and Claudio will be on the mic

@RedRedRe: I know a lot of us, myself included, would glady pay for a premium service with better coverage if there was an option to.
  • 2 0
anybody able to actually watch through redbull.tv, I got to the page with the streaming video and it wouldn't load, now I can't even get to that!
  • 4 0
Yup. Just watched both races here. Used Opera and turned the VPN to the U.S. It worked perfectly.
  • 1 0
@volvoshredder: thanks a heap volvo you are a life saver
  • 1 0
@multialxndr: You're welcome. I'm new to this VPN thing, so I'm happy it worked. Opera is just a normal web browser with a built-in VPN. I didn't feel like downloading some sketchy software, or paying something, and this worked well.
  • 2 0
@volvoshredder: cool, I have vpn, will try that for the dh today if it still isn't working.
  • 2 0
Yeah Opera worled flawless for me as well
  • 4 2
Why are there rarely highlights of the XC races? I love watching the technical sections, passes and sprints. XC needs to up its game in the marketing department.
  • 1 0
Think it's a Pinkbike thing to be honest. I remember all the XC coverage leading up to Rio and most of the commenta were about spandex monkeys.
  • 3 0
NEFF!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO awesome to see her back on form!!
  • 3 0
Congrats to Nino and Yolanda! Smile
  • 2 2
What a race! Congratulations to Nino, Manuel, Jaroslav and many more! It was exciting to watch and Nino definitely deserved the victory! He fought hard for this one! Chapeau Kulhavy and Litscher!
  • 3 0
Well done Pauline, back in the game.
  • 2 0
Henrique Avancini from Brazil, fourth place!! Excelente result, best ever for a brazilian! Congrats!
  • 2 0
Shame his attack didn't work! He spiced things up

Awesome mens race - then Nino drops the hammer! Incredible, unforgettable season.
  • 2 0
 Why did Belomoina not finish?
  • 2 0
 Medals or bust?
  • 5 0
Crashed in practise. Hit her head. It became too hard for her to continue in the race.
  • 2 0
Not again Maja! Frown SO close to the medal... Batty first, now Pauline...

Bit of an anticlimax when you can't watch the event as promised Hoping Red Bull sort out the issues for the DH...
  • 2 1
Hey Cairns it's world's championship where is your crowd??
  • 3 0
It did seem low on the footage but apparently there were lots off screen
  • 3 0
I was lucky enough to be there watching today and the crowd was awesome.
  • 3 0
Myself & many of my biking mates were out doing our part around crocs teeth & crocslide today. We didn't have a patch on the baywatch boys though...
DH tomorrow should be a riot!

what a perfect season for Nino Schurter
  • 1 0
Does anyone know what happened to Yana Belomoina?
  • 1 1
 shoulda been rissveds
  • 1 0
 She crash out?
  • 6 0
@bonfire: She didn't compete. Wrong helmet.
  • 4 2
Unlikely. Rissveds had some bad results in the last couple WC rounds due to her early season family issues. Never seemed to come back to form after taking hiatus. Wish her the best and hope she's back to herself next year.
  • 7 0
@vinay: Oh right. Forgot all about that. But as Jamminator says she has hasn't been on form.

I am stoked for Jolanda. She makes XC racing pretty fun to watch.
  • 2 0
My money's on her not racing again.
  • 2 3
 Neff faster than N1no !!!
  • 1 0
 Troll game weak
  • 1 0
Close. The men did an extra lap. But ya
  • 2 5
The flying poodle was unbeatable today. Someone who makes a descent bike needs to sign her.
  • 9 2
From a woman's perspective, I don't know if being called a "flying poodle" is very flattering. Regardless: yes, Jolanda flies, is a beautiful badass rider, and yes I'd love to see on a proper gravity bike (on a gravity trail).
  • 3 3
@siobhananon: Yeah not very flattering I admit but it stuck as a nickname between friends due to her crazy hair. No offence meant though, she's probably my favourite racer regardless of gender.

I don't even mean a trail bike, just something like a Scott Spark rather than that archaic hardtail she has to ride.
  • 1 2
@siobhananon: from an XC racer's perspective, being called 'the flying [any animal]' would be fine by me.
  • 4 7
@jclnv - you are talking sht, why don't you get offended at Gwin riding YT or Brosnan riding Canyon? Too much cool aid?
  • 1 0
@jclnv: Kross will have an XC fully next year called "Earth" but still many women prefer the hardtail because of the weight.
