Jolanda Neff and Nino Schurter secured the 2018 World Cup Overal Champion titles. An epic finish to the season for both in La Bresse today, as they both took the win for the final World Cup of the season as well.

 Well done Emily Batty

Super stoked for Batty! And Haley Smith is also up and coming.

@joshua22 @mountainbikerfisher: Emily finished in the top 10 overall with a 9th, and Haley made a massive jump up from last season to finish just outside the top 20 in 23rd! What an amazing season for the Canadian women!

Hopefully they can continue to build on their successes for next season Smile

@m1dg3t: What standings are you looking at? Batty 3rd overall for the final world cup standings, Smith 16th.

@Ginsu2000: Straight from UCI. Am I reading it wrong?

@m1dg3t: Yes and no. You are looking at the world rankings, which go back one year and count ALL UCI sanctioned races. The World Cup Standings are different and Emily finished 3rd in those rankings and Haley 16th. They only count Wolrd Cup results from this season.

@scissors888: Not to mention that, at least as of this moment when I type this, the UCI world ranking on at uci.ch hasn't been updated yet to include the results from La Bresse.

U23 Men with four (4!) Norwegians in the top 22, and the frickin' winner overall, is something I thought we would not see. The future is bright, let's hope the lads can back it up in the years to come. Go Norway!

Matthieu van der Poel skipped Mont Saint-Anne and still finished second in the overall. Dude is so insanely talented.

Genuine question : Why did Nino get >300 per win while Mathieu got 285 and Sam 250?
It's funny it makes things look terribly rigged for the man!

Edit: Is it the short track ?
  • 1 1
@polarproton yes, it should depending on short track results

@mountaindoctor: Nino by over 500 points what a beast.

It counts the short track the XCO results.

Nino continues to dominate, staving off Attack after attack or simply attacking and plowing ahead for the entire race. His dominance is hard to match, mixing pure determination, endurance and skill on the bike to hit the downhills the hardest while leading out front late in the race. Makes other riders look weak

Woot, Anton the silent achiever yet again! Good work for Sam as well 12th after a mixed season. Still beat Nino in a sprint for a world cup win and got the commonwealth gold.

That was the best women's XC race i've seen, excellent effort from the four leading women on the day. The way that Jolanda attacked the DH was awesome.

@ka81: Using Chrome & the std browser gives same results for me: no image.

Not gonna stress too much about it. Just thought I'd mention it in case there were others having issues too. Thanks
