And override the darkside-yes we can!
mate you must be new to MTB, come out of the cave and ride down the Mountain on flat pedals !! Sam is a legend
Stoked for you Sam!
38 races.
In each race, U21, Masters and Elite rankings.
Divided in man & woman rankings.
38x3=76. 76x2=228. So 228. The three best rider in each category wins a medal.
It gives us 684 medals.
Acording to his wikipedia page, Sam Hill's flat pedals won a total of 4 medals (two 1st and two 2nd places).
Clipless pedals won the 680 other medals.
So yes, sometimes, it happens that (only Sam Hill's) flat pedals win medals.
Sam is a great champion, a very humble and down-to-earth guy, I met him at the Megavalanche this year.
But please slow down with that flat pedal thing, it's getting boring.
Unless you want to talk about clipless pedals wins in World Cup Downhill?

Hill - 5:24:34
Dailly - 5:27:12
For say a 4 minute stage, translates to a touch over 2 seconds if my maths are correct.
Some of the other guys are incredibly close to each other after so many stages.
I'm not sure Hill is the greatest of all time, but he's certainly up there, particularly the impact he's made in raising the level of DH across the board and making people realise just how fast you can go on a bike!
Congrats to Sam on #1. Really happy for the season Greg had as well!
(I think about a third of the comments on here are about flat pedals!)
