Colombian TV Coverage From Stage 1 of EWS Colombia

by Pinkbike Staff

The crowds came out in Manizales to watch the spectacle of EWS Colombia's Stage 1 through the centre of the city. Shout out to Iago at 1h47m24s with the gratuitous wallride!

Riders are on course for Day 2, and we'll have all the results/photos/videos live as soon as possible. We may have some live coverage from Stages 7 and 8 later today as well.

 whats wrong with you guys?
can't see any problem with this short urban stage, think its amazing for the local people watching it live and also for the riders (media coverage). today is a total different story and the best (trail) rider will win the race anyway, with or without the urban stage....

I'll echo the sentiment of @foespower, the haters have it all wrong. Urban DH is awesome as a prologue for an event such as this. It can only be a positive thing when you see huge crowds going bananas. Can't think of anywhere in Europe, the US or Australasia, a) with the urban terrain and b) which would draw such massive crowds. (Compare the crowds at this event to that at Crankworx Rotorua for instance.)

Also its a 1 minute stage because it is a prologue. You know what a prologue is right?!

i think that it is beyond awesome that Chris Ball has tipped his hat to urban DH by recognising it in this event.

Anyone following the live feed for results? Jared Graves was fourth on the prologue but doesn't have any times today. What happened?

Cool to see them racing on the street, especially the slalom section. Surprised more weren't hopping the hay bales.

1:38.44 when Sam Shaw couldn't get his Zerode out the start hut because it is UNRIDEABLE!

Looks like he got out just fine to me. Even managed to crank on the pedals during his run.

Enduro is now the best sport. It took a bit but it’s legit af now

TightAF how is it better than DH? This particular stage wasn't even on dirt and multiple riders cheated including the "winner" they broadcasted. Seems to me that reflects poorly upon the EWS image as far as the layman is concerned.
