 Can someone please explain timed training to me? Do they get a beep beep beep ... Go or a timing strap sensor on bike for the day and they gather all the quickest time on each interval?

 beep beep. Its a mock race. They usually get a few riders before TT to test the timing system, then they give it a "stress" test during the official timed training. Its a good way to make sure timing is functioning before qualies and finals.
