Travel Tuesday presented by Bike Kingdom Lenzerheide

Destination Details

Bike Kingdom Lenzerheide opened its gates for the first time at the start of the 2020 summer season – and they did it with a bang: "The legend of Tommy G" led the way in a spectacular, albeit not too serious fashion. A kingdom for mountain bike riders was to arise in the Swiss Alps. Not even mixed-up 2020 could stop it. The late bike opening was compensated by a corona-induced bike boom. Looking back, the rulers of the Bike Kingdom are more than happy with its debut season.

Long stories are one thing, experiencing them yourself is another. That's why Bike Kingdom Lenzerheide invites two friends to get a picture of the kingdom for themselves and spend three days in probably the best bike playground in the Alps.

At least you can still get out for a ride with all the hunters in the mountains.

Rode into Austria on Sunday morning, dead skinned brothers and sisters of Bambi dumped on the track sides with huge Eagle? like birds and flocks of crows feeding on them. Quite a sinister experience!

I'd wear a floro helmet cover.

3 days 2500 for hotel bike hire and park access that's over 800 a day!!! maybe to some that's normal but to me that is an insane waste of money let me have the money and organise it myself i could stay there for a few weeks!

Can't quite see how it adds up, even allowing €100/d bike hire for 2 people, 2 rooms at €100/night. But hey, who cares, looks like a fun place to go, and I'll certainly not complain if I win!!

maybe its a 5 star mega hotel spa retreat bike holiday they are offering

@danielstutt: I looked at the hotel, and it's certainly much nicer than I'd normally go with a bike - cheapest rooms are €129/night for a double. Anyway - free bike holiday...

I love this review of the hotel that slates it for not having enough glasses in the bathroom for false teeth Big Grin www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g198858-d13329256-r761499370-Revier_Mountain_Lodge_Lenzerheide-Lenzerheide_Canton_of_Graubunden_Swiss_Alps.html

US $1,000 for travel expenses... given I live 1h of car away, this is the right time I'd show up with a rented Ferrari and a roof rack

I stayed in the hotel a year or two ago, it's pretty well setup for short bike trips. There's a huge bike room with cables for looking your beast up as well as tools and repair stands. There's also a bike wash outside and we got a discount on a lift pass. The hotel is next door to a bike shop which in turn is next to the bottom of the main lift to the bike park. The only downside is that the room we stayed in was quite basic so you probably wouldn't want to stay too long there and therefore it maybe wouldn't be somewhere to bring a non-active partner.

 'Non-active partner'

Passion gone out of your relationship too then, has it?

 Wow!
Does this apply for a yearly visit the next ten years or what? Never thought that Switzerland in Corona times ist even more expensive.
  • 2 0
Fingers crossed!! Given its only open to Europeans the chances of winning should be higher!!
  • 3 0
 I don't have a partner. Can I stay for 6 days when I win?
  • 2 0
If I take five "partners" then we'd only need to stay for one night...
