Are there any functional and not overly expensive shop tire installation tools that would make getting the increasing number of tight tires on rims easily without wrecking rims?

Park tire pliers hack rims and don't work well on big DH tires, they had a tire install removal bar that pivoted off the hub but its as if it never existed. Cost of an assembly factory power version is out of the question. Something like the Koolstop tire bead jack?

I've only seen pictures of it and any videos I found its always road tires. If you see something please post it, if anyone else knows of such things what are they?

I have a wide variety of tire levers, DH and motorcycle and the park tire pliers. Still looking for something that works better with less effort and less potential to damage things.

@cuban-b: Thanks, I have some. They are good. today we had a Mavic tubeless rim that in the end took ridiculous brute force even with a little soap and water to get a DH case 2.5 on. I wouldn't usually send such a poor fitting combo out since there dealing with it trail side will be extremely difficult. No choice in this case though because the Maxxis and Kenda tires would not go on it. We finally forced the Bontrager on but it was far from ideal.

Kool-Stop tire bead jack- has a handle on it and works pretty well. Also Schwalbe "easy fit"

Just file down the edge of the rim so the tyre easilly slips on. What could go wrong?!

A good trick I learned is when you get the first side of the tire on the rim (the easy part), make sure that installed part of the tire is in the CENTER of the rim before you start to hook the remaining bead of the tire. The center has a smaller diameter than the outer portion of the rim and therefore makes it manageable to fit tight tires on tight tubeless rims. This worked on Stans Flow rims with Maxxis tires.

@NWshredSauce: Thanks, I always do these, in this case I used some toe straps to keep the bead on but the last bit was ridiculous. Would have been easier if it were tubeless but the customer didn't want to buck up for it. If this is going to be the new norm the industry will need to make more and better tire fitting tools.

Will track down one of those koolstop brake jacks.

@trauty: I have a reverb stealth on my '17 Fuel EX. There is a pause after hitting the remote before it drops. Way too much pressure is used to get it to move, and it's return is ridiculous. My kid has a KS and I have a 6 yr old Crankbros. My reverb is new but so far, the others are just as good and cost half as much.

@deadtime: Seems like Reverbs need regular bleeds. If you tend to pick your bike up or hang it by the saddle when the post is not fully extended that is contributing to your issue. I have an X fusion HiLo that has to be burped if I pick it up by the saddle when compressed.

I recently read an article on suspension tips by a suspension repair centre who advised people not to pick up their reverb equipped bikes by the saddle or hang it by the saddle if the post isn't fully extended.

Did you see the innova tyre with half a tube built in? Looked intriguing but raised a lot of questions. Like, how do you get old sealant out? And what happens when you do get a puncture that the sealant can't handle...
