The Gap Jump is found in heavily wooded and mountainous areas across the world. If you encounter one BY NO MEANS SHOULD YOU APPROACH IT. Slowly back away and head in the opposite direction. Leave them to the experienced. They will not pursue you.

Friday Fails now featuring: trail chickens, goats, and Clauses along with the usual scorpions.

Are these fail videos actually getting more awesome each week or am I just becoming a bigger a-hole and taking more joy in them?

Ever since some people here started moralizing on use of elbow pads I take extra pleasure from watching Safety Kind Of Guys crashing. Like the dude all padded up in a fullface in the indoor skate park... he needs to raise his testosterone level, he’ll be less scared of falling and more committed to pedalling and boosting which will result in less usage of his padding. Uhhh

@WAKIdesigns: waki, just because man invented crack doesnt mean you need to use it. Man up and live life with out smoking crack
  • + 8
I've noticed a much better balance of complete noobs and people trying cool shit and it going poorly.
  • + 2
They’re getting more enjoyable for sure.

A recurring theme I’ve noticed with some of these riders is the rock solid commitment to fail. There’s usually a few of these each week where the rider could have corrected mid-fail and had a better outcome. Some of them decide mid-air that they’re failing and follow through with it.
  • + 3
@dbendixen: honestly I’m beginning to think it’s a direct representation of their will to live. Some just give up and take it lmao.

Jumping requires performing a bunnyhop like movement pattern to be executed. You have to lean back and drive with your legs into the lip, then you have to lean into the landing. Most freeze after leaning back. Then many get the side balance wrong just before the end of the lip like they soften one of their arms more. They also freeze. If you try to do a fat whip, you have to lean to the side a bit on the lip. Then you have to lean the opposite direction in the air to get the bike back on track. It requires commitment. If you lean back and to the left you will have to turn bars to the left to get the bike back under you, then lean right and forward. One fluid movement. If you lean back and left, then wait for what will happen, maybe even freeze, you’ll eat shit. And this is exactly what is happening in most scenarios here. No finishing of initial movement or no movement at all. Getting soft on the take off and stiff in the air. Exact opposite of what should happen. Tense on take off, relaxed in the air, tense on landing. Being careful is the best way to eat sht.

not gonna lie... I get pretty excited when I see a waki comment with -20 props.. can't hit that "show comment" button fast enough
  • - 3
@kookseverywhere: oh come on, it was such a joy to see all condescending comments on Adrien Dailly “he learned nothing, when will he learn to wear elbow pads, stupid people trying to look cool don’t wear elbow pads” only to realize that he hurt his elbow through a pad... gutted for Adrien but boy, this must have stuck an elbow in the mouth of these rational men...

That huckster to flat off the roof, though! I didn’t know you could smash your face on a top tube like that! Is there a new term for it? Like a reverse scorpion? Maybe call it the fetus?
  • + 92
I think it's called "His dentist is getting a new Yeti."
  • + 22
Hey he didn’t really fail in the grand scheme of things though. He did ride away.
  • + 19
 Full on Bender tribute!!!
  • + 36
Maybe it's called a stem-eater, or a tooth pick...or...wait for it... "The Molar Express".
  • + 6
@babymorox: Yes! When I saw him up there - I just thought Bender! Long live Bender!
  • + 2
That’s a road cover, I think France near a glacier, driven by a few times...
  • + 20
 #69, nice
  • + 5
I don’t get the 69 thing... can someone please explain?
  • + 28

  • + 12
Wall ride guy was the best.
  • + 4
That person had no business on that trail haha
  • + 10
 3:01 was definitely a win
  • + 9
Pinkbike should hire the guy at 3.00 for huck-to-flat tests,he's really skilled.
  • + 1
@NoskillNotalent: yah that was a good save given all the circumstances
  • + 2
@NoskillNotalent: i think this guy is still sitting at home cooling his wrists and ankles Big Grin
  • + 8
Came here hoping to see 69 fails... I'll let myself out.
  • + 13
i'll post some 69 fail vids i made at home.
  • + 5
To be fair, I cry nearly every time I see a Friday Fails episode. However, this one seems exceptional and I am still wiping tears off my face as I prepare to watch this again. Kudos Pinkbike.......kudos.......
  • + 4
The built in cape for our Superman at 00:17 and all the knives sticking out of the tree at 2:48 are highlights. 2:48 Guy would have been in a world of hurt if the tree didn't adhere to feng shui.
  • + 7
who put the land mine in the first video?!
  • + 2
Every week I watch these, and every time I cringe Eek I’ve had my fair share of crashes and I know what it feels like to slam into the ground or hit a tree, but watching these videos makes me laugh and it reassures me that I’m not the most terrible rider out there lol Razz
  • + 4
Not quite sure why 3:03 was included. Guys going to need ankle surgery, a couple stitches in the taint, and possibly a new helmet, but that was a make all day!
  • + 5
80% or more of Friday Fails would have been successes with more speed.
  • + 11
And the remaining 20% with much, much less speed
  • + 2
I did exactly 2:48 on a sled when I was a kid on the first day of Christmas break. I had a bruise on leg so big, I had to be dragged home and didn't walk for the rest of the break.
  • + 5
 The first dude just imploded.
  • + 4
Love how dust catches the sunlight on toonie drop...looks like his rear wheel blew up/caught on fire.
  • + 3
Most important take-away this week: Dressing like Rogatkin will not make you ride like Rogatkin.
  • + 3
Can we have a round of compression damping please? Damn, these things are funny.
  • + 2
I can already hear the collective groan of warranty managers around the globe, reading the "I was just riding along" email on Monday...
  • + 3
Little Duthie Hill love at 31 seconds haha
  • + 3
And not a single 'kurwa' was shed that day.
  • + 1
Almost every week there is a video from where I live, Christchurch New Zealand. Anyone else see a bunch of videos from where they're from?
  • + 3
How appropriate that #69 should include so many rim jobs.
  • + 1
I like the pronounced arm thrusts of the guy at 1:38. Literally trying to throw the bike away and the handlebar still clobbers him.
  • + 3
Looks like Rogatkin needs to practise more.
  • + 2
Is the drop at the start the same one as at 2.20? If so, there needs to be cameraman there full-time.
  • + 3
 Those poor rear wheels...
  • + 1
I have a sneaking suspicion that being Russian leads to a predisposition to wind up on Friday Fails.
  • + 1
Benders son must be @2:55! That's the only explanation for the huck to flat!
  • + 1
If you dont know how to go off a jump without going OTB when things go wrong, maybe dont send it. I dunno just an idea.
  • + 2
The guy at 1:57 had his head catapulted into the ground lol
  • + 1
PSA: your shock has a rebound knob (probably). Go ahead and give it a few extra turns.
  • + 1
Am I seeing the ramp correctly at 1:25? It looks like a nice wood ramp propped up on a log standing on end
  • + 2
The guy at :25 is the inspiration for the title animation.
  • + 2
wow some big sends this friday.
  • + 3
 nice
  • + 1
 nice
  • + 2
 Next on "When Bikes Attack!!".....
  • + 2
I had high expectation for Edition 69, it did not let me down
  • + 2
this edition leaves a bad taste in mouth...
  • + 2
Your probably a couple inches off the target. Oh wait,,,it's 69 FAILS. Makes sense now.
  • + 1
 Damn this week was brutal
  • + 2
 Toonie Drop mayhem.
  • + 1
2:22 that subtle "ohh" at the end Big Grin
  • + 1
Is that Danny Macaskill failing the 360?
  • + 1
This one really needs that animated ninja edited into it.
  • + 1
Second best wall ride I've ever seen..
  • + 1
Is 1:00 lethal when wet Aston Hill?
  • + 1
With an intro like that you know it is going to be brutal. FML
  • + 1
 This one was particularly brutal.
  • + 2
 3:33 ROS
  • + 1
Did the first one die? Or the one at 2:20. Those were gnarly
  • + 1
Yea, looked like the one at 2:20 jumped down an elevator shaft.
  • + 1
 It's the same guy!
  • + 1
@royalsrule: seriously, two different attempts of the same drop?
  • + 3
The first clip and the clip at 2;20 are different features, same rider. @EKrum:
  • + 1
The roof drop to head butt was simply glorious
  • + 1
For real, where are they finding these Smile Amazing
  • + 1
Just a short word about this compilation, ouch.
  • + 1
my most frequent thought watching these.. PULL UP! PULL UP!
  • + 1
 Or pull out pull out.
  • + 1
At 1:28 is that Waterdown Ontaio?!?!?
  • + 1
 ..
  • + 1
My guy at 2:28 is flying
  • + 1
 Best fails ever.
  • + 1
I laughed maniacally more than once!
  • + 1
 Nice
