For Whistmas 2018 the IFHT crew came to schralp turns, catch big air, and party like it's 1995. Someone should tell them that Expo '86 wasn't in the 90s.
Elbow pads arent a part of the Whistler uniform. Jeans, wife beater, Leatt brace and full face are what the cool kids wear. It always surprises me how many riders dont have knees and elbows pads in the park.
I do notice that nobody really wears them anymore.Must be a "not cool thing" nowadays.IMO its really stupid but to each their own.I wear them and they save my ass big time at least once a year.
I stopped wearing them after I still got scraped elbows and lost skin when the pads slid on impact. No matter what brand or style, none of them stay put. Less damage with just a scrape now. And, avoid crashing.... ;-)
@nug12182: After getting 4 stitches in my elbow this spring, I have given up on looking cool in favor of being safe. I wear elbow pads on every ride now. They would have prevented me from needing those stitches if I had made the change sooner.
I tried to be like the Cool Kids and go armourless one time. Elbow was fucked for a mth.....if I had my pads on, it would have been absolutely nothing.
Sometimes its 6 & two 3's... I wear Knees and a full-face, but no other armour at all. As soon as I go near a neck-brace, any body armour or elbow pads, I crash. Just feels wrong man. I full endorse their use though - I've seen a few saves from them!
