  • 13 2
Bruh who robbed that footplant photo, that one is sick! All my favorite photos have been taken out already Frown
  • 13 3
That pic from Russia is so sick.
  • 7 0
I just realized I have no idea where he's landing, unless..."in Russia 30 foot drop to flat concrete is just Tuesday".
  • 8 0
@noapathy: lol, I figured he was just hitting it like a half pipe but good call. In Soviet Russia landing use you.
  • 1 0
@noapathy: photog says its an oppo 180 so i guess what we used to call an alley-oop and he’s travelling backwards
  • 1 0
@MikeyMT: in Soviet Russia we are landing even no landing there Wink
  • 8 0
well... there goes all my favs... except that Russian one. That is a really cool image.
  • 2 1
If Vlad will win, i'll ask him for short story about this pick for Pinkbike
  • 2 0
Yeah but it looks weird though, almost like it's photo shopped. I'm not saying he did that, I'm just saying it has that look to it. idk.
  • 1 0
@mybaben: He hid a flash in the tube and I think that's it. I very much doubt it's photoshopped. Likely just used lightroom to colour it.
  • 2 0
@Lone-Wolf-Productions: No I believe it's real, i'm just saying it has a funny look to it, as if it was CG or something.
  • 6 0
DARN, i really liked Sam Needham's photo. the way the rider is framed by the GREENEST grass and tree with the mist in the background..
  • 1 1
It's pretty for sure, but its competitor pic is just epic!!
  • 1 0
totally agree, and that tree too
  • 4 0
Quite a fee photos were almost 50/50 in the votes.

Yeah too bad the Brendog and Voreis photos are out.... And a few others.

Loving the natural light shots. Not much of a flash photography fan here.
  • 5 2
The Nathan Hughes photo was my favourite from the start. But they are all great.. Now I am backing the Ross Bell photo.. It reminds me of every second ride last summer in rainy BC
  • 1 0
Nathan got robbed, hard. Very disappointed, easily my favourite this year.
  • 6 0
can't blame the public choices, but most of my favourites are out...
  • 2 1
Absolutely, some strange public choices this year.
  • 1 0
Lorence’s is one of my favs and glad to see it still in the running. The green variations and colours are pleasing (soft yet contrasting), the framing and composition are top drawer, great trick with the “where the heck is he gonna land” factor and the uniqueness of the two dudes watching from under the tree makes the vibe more of a session than a photo shoot. Ticks all the boxes for me, love to see it go through to finals.
  • 3 1
If there is one thing I have learned about this contest, it is that the people have poor taste in what should be considered the POY. That also goes for the people that selected these photos in the first place.
  • 3 0
matchup 5, really? that nathan hughes photo was one of my favs from the whole bunch
  • 2 4
Pretty picture, but you can't see the rider (barely). Same with the Shannon photo. Nice pic, but rider is hidden. Composition is KEY, not just "a cool rider shot". Smile
  • 2 1
@mybaben: I agree, I think Hughes' would have done better if it was cropped to be the half the size in the top left corner, and make the rider more the focus of the shot even if it cocks up the rule of 3rds composition. As it is, it's framed as a beautiful landscape shot "oh and there's a rider there too"
  • 2 0
@ROOTminus1: Agreed. What did you think about #4? I have mixed feelings. I think I prefer the one legged move on the rock... The guy in the pipe is a little small and also it almost looks like a photo shopped pic. I'm not saying it is, it just looks like it is...
  • 3 0
I really liked Sam Needham's pic. Just a green tree, but with the mood and all, great.
  • 4 0
Gotta say that steve shannon photo has got my vote
  • 2 0
It's pretty, but the rider is too small and sort of camouflaged...
  • 1 0
@mybaben: you're thinking of the nathan's Hughes one above steve shannon
  • 3 0
@ridelife6: I meant the Shannon one. I know what you're saying though. The Hughes one is SUPER small and hidden. But I still think the Shannon one has the rider a little too blended into the rock/hillside. If he was just a little more to the left and maybe had the bike more sideways, which would make it larger, it would work well... Just my take.
  • 2 0
Yah his photo is so good
  • 2 0
Hope Ross Bell who takes it. At least from a Northern European point of view, that shot captures everything that's fun about winter riding.
  • 2 0
Aw man, I totally disagree with #6 & #7!! Oh well. Smile
The shot from Sulzer is my fav!
  • 5 2
#1 and #7 what the heck how did the worse photos win?
  • 1 0
Yeah I pretty surprised about #7!
  • 3 0
How can one not vote for a Backflip over the Canyon Gap?
  • 1 0
Two of my favourites facing eachother in the first quarter. Fav for finals is the moody backlit from the Amaury Pierron shoot.
  • 2 0
 #1, #3 and #5 were too close. Lets call a re-vote haha.
  • 2 0
Anywhere we can get the images in full quality? I need a wallpaper

 Welcome to Kindergarten.

 @fullendurbro:

Hahahaha!
You respond with all capital's, to insinuate that I was yelling, not the case.

I obviously have a different opinion than the majority, and I'm simply not interested in voting further. I can't help it if the majority have poor taste????
  • 2 0
And just like that... I'm done voting
  • 1 0
I went 2/8 on this round of voting....

25% is sorta a little good right?
  • 1 0
First thing I thought, who tf voted against that pic
  • 1 0
Nathan Hughes was probably my one followed by Reuben Krabbe...ah well.
  • 1 0
