 I really hope that the majority of the coverage is of actual dirt and not the stupid pavement sections.

 Gwin looking like he playing it safe and trying to get as many points as possible, that being said he is likely to go full throttle in the finals. Bulldog looking like a man possessed and blazing speed, love to see him win. The fact Gwin is that close without breaking a sweat and we know bulldog can be a loose cannon????? This is turning out to be an awesome track and can't wait to see the finals. No injuries please to all men and women,, 1st race!

 Yes it should be a good one! I'm a big Gwin fan but it's awesome to have a bunch of Kiwi's back in the mix! Fingers crossed for no flats/mechanicals and solid race runs for all! Also heal up Claudio and Loic!

 Looked like Bulldog almost lost it in the rocks, looked like his tight foot come out and he was a swerving!

Did Gwin sit down for a second on the top section, after the hard pedal?

 Agree, this track is looking to be far better than I imagined after the initial preview. Interesting they showed nearly none of Gwin's rock lines compared to the others. I wonder if he asked them not to so as to keep his secrets safe Razz

 Redbull - Just a quick note on production standards. If your going to use the audio from the live anouncers at the finish line then maybe consider showing the runs in 3rd, 2nd, 1st order. it might help build narrative structure. just saying.

 Seriously UCI, how much of a cash grab was it to put a World Cup race on this rack? 2:19 as the fastest time? That includes the opening section basically down a road, that Is all pedaling, and then it ends with a long section through the city? How much of this course is an actual downhill race, a minute third? This coming after a pretty weak worlds course to end last year.

 @nojzilla: the uci guy said a couple of times in the world cup chatter programme, it's just about money. I think it's a pretty lame track, but it will still produce an exciting race. Also, the racers are clearly loving the location so no one is going to be bagging it out!

 They changed how the top 20 protected riders works
Top 10 from last year (normally the quickest and most consistent anyway and normally the big riders which people want to see,) will be protected throu out the year. the next 10 protected riders are the ones in overall season standings.
Think that how it going to work, or that.s how I understand it.
Same for the woman, but 15 riders I think,

 Shaw, blenki, Brosnan, Gwin and Lucas will be the last 5 down. Think it sucks that if an non-protected rider out qualifies protected riders they don’t get to start in that position @W-Perherin:

 @Luniapuanrider: where does it say the protected ten will always be the last ten down the hill? I took it to mean qualifying positions produce the starting order, in reverse of course, and any protected rider who fails to qualify well will start first, second slot whatever, according to their overall ranking.

 To be fair to the UCI on this one, the update in the link @W-Perherin: posted does say that this is a decision made by Redbull and team managers rather than the UCI

 Never a good idea running a corner into the finish line. Should be 35 meters of straight (no obstacles) let alone a wall with posts and railings, none of which are padded.
