Push Industries' mystery product

We reached out to the winner, from Quebec, Canada, to see what he had to say about being picked as the winner of the contest:

bigquotesI am very stoked to be the winner of this great prize! I am so happy to be the one who will have the chance to spend some time with the suspension gurus at Push. Push has been on my radar for years with great product and solutions for OEM spec products that have the possibility to be improved—and I was planning to replace/upgrade my current set up sometime next year!

Thanks Pinkbike and Push for this awesome prize!

We'll be covering Focusst's trip to Push when he flies over in the next couple of months—make sure to look out for it popping up on the Pinkbike homepage.

About Push Industries
Push Industries, Inc. was formed in Irvine, California in an 800sq.ft. warehouse. The company was founded by Darren Murphy, a long time cycling/motorcycle enthusiast and suspension geek, as a way to combine his two passions. The goal? To provide industry leading customer service and provide consumers with the same level of product that is available to world class racers. Using National and World Champion Eric Carter and riders from the Turner Honda Racing Team, Push quickly established itself as the premiere suspension tuner for North America.

It's a good thing I didn't win because I would have spent the tour begging him for a job programming and running his CNC's. It would have just been embarrassing, what with the crying and all.

Standing next to a HAAS as I type; Can I come too?

Cry away my friend, cry away.

@Connerv6: Hell yeah. With our powers combined... we can machine a whole bunch of suspension components.
  • 2 1
@Rucker10 you guys need an enginerd? Let's do this...

Running a Hurco right now....would have loved to tour that factory

I'm an industrial equipment tech. for a major airline manufacturer based in Seattle WA. I'd be doing the exact same thing as you!

Hard tail fail. "Uh, so I've won, and we'll just leave it at that".........This whole contest was pretty exclusive, I wouldn't be surprised if the winner wasn't random. Many bikes that shock wouldn't even fit.
  • 2 0
@Highrevkev: dude, Hurco and gildemeister are where i cut my teeth. its good to learn programming and machine the occasional homwork bike part Smile
Prototype it, test on the trails and rework

@Kramz: It wouldn't have fit on my bike. To get to do something like this, I would have bought a new bike where it would have fit.

Haha, same. Haas VF3's @ my job.

 Shred hard for us!!

Clearly you have full rights to buy a brand new bike frame now before the trip.... I mean, you can't get that 11.6 made for a Ironhorse 6.7 or 2006 Kona Stab Deluxe
  • 19 1
Dang, I was looking forward to see what they were going to do with my XC bike
  • 22 1
I know right, I really wanted this for my hardtail

@philip92: The downside is that you'd lose a bottle cage mount, so make sure you get a hydration pack before you install the new shock.
  • 9 0
@davidccoleman: use a fanny pack, they're more ENDURO
  • 8 0
@davidccoleman: Smart! Your're thinking ahead! a hydration pack only needs 1 bolt to install on your frame.
  • 3 1
@fartymarty: I just bought the evoc hip pack, awesome sht, I don't know why would anyone wear a back pack for anything else than whole day rides where you need to pack lots of water and food. Fanny fits all normal necessities 1l of water and stays put as fk. Nothing jumps on your back and shoulders fking up your balance.

@WAKIdesigns: I was taking the piss a bit... I also have a bum bag (which I need to dig out again) which is great but either go full backpack or folding tool in pocket and bottle. The bum bag works great for the in between rides (a couple of hour XC loop).

PS (and off topic) liked the flats v clips in Dirt. They're putting iut some good critical thinking atm.
  • 2 1
 @fartymarty: colostomy equipment...
  • 1 0
 @WAKIdesigns: because broken backs suck.
  • 1 0
@feazel: you are a genius. All those kooks with Fanny packs will bring it on themselves. This one, of all the trends they were jumping on instantly, will bring end to their sheepdom. Your trails will be free of unworthy people as they stroll around towns on wheelchairs, some of them on the way to a cliff, for the last yet biggest huck of their life.

I will take my chances - thank you, after all i don't steeze on gnar as most Pinkbikers do. Safety first, logic later.

@WAKIdesigns: I'm not sure if I'm missing sarcasm, but that could well be due to the nice bottle of red I've been working through this evening. I was merely providing an answer to a question based on personal experience...........quieter trails would be nice though, also, people would roll around town in their wheelchairs, if they could stroll the wheelchair would be redundant.

@feazel: cuz fanny pack = spine injury sounded like a joke so I kept joking Big Grin

one of my ZionBikeJamaica fleet is a Nomad that should be dead by now but before retiring in Jah I sent the Fox 36 and Fox Float in and had them overhauled and they have been there for over 3 years now on the old '09 Nomad and both ran smooth and quiet in March. It was well worth the dough to ship them from Canada and have the work done in retrospect as the shocks are 5 years old now. Hope to get one more season out of the bike. Major props to Push for the work done on 3 bikes over the years paid off.

The picture of the "mystery product" is misleading without any scale. It's actually a pneumatic bar stool.

Weren't we supposed to guess what the new product is?

It appears to be a telescoping chamber with adjustment knobs at both ends. ...custom valved fork damper upgrades anyone?
  • 3 0
His Huffy Sledgehammer is going to outperform most Speci bike out there wow!!! -I'm just jealous...Congrats brotha'

There is no way any regular Pinkbike user wrote that spiel the winner apparently did. Humans who win thousands of dollars of prizes do not speak like that at all.
