 That Pipeline.... wow

Not the original pipeline. That was the 2003/2004 version if my shitty memory still works at all.

 @makripper: just googling, it’s a 2000.
  • 7 0
Yes!... just putting a big grin on my face.
Reminds me a bit of my dear Slayer SXC 2008 which is still alive and ripping well.
Old-school spirit, as long as it works! Smile

@DMal: oh right on. Not much differences. Only gussetts I think.

A piece of art! BTW where can I buy the purple Pipedream?

Make alu, not carbon!

The quick release to change the travel length!

How in gods name are those hayes still alive?
  • 3 0
@Franzzz: Yup, I used to have a Flow FS from 2005. Best 5" bike I have ever owned. Also, never saw another one IRL or online. It basically was a slayer with a coil shock on it. And the slayer was basically an Element with 1" more travel.

@Jclaa: Still got a commuter in my household that still runs one of those. Bomb proof.
  • 2 0
That was my first mtn bike! it sure brings back some memories.
  • 2 0
@zoobab2: I hope people's minds are blown today by that feature. Haha. I had that same bike in 2000-2001.
  • 1 0
@Jclaa: Same question! I never see those brakes as new!
  • 8 0
the garden gloves are a nice touch too.
  • 4 0
plus that Z1 on the front was way ahead of its time. id still run one today. through axle front, compression/rebound knobs, coil sprung open oil bath.

@cuban-b: Great fork! 20mm through axle. I had a black one that ended up twisted at the crowns, so it ended up on a home made snow bike. Next fork I had was the first Marz Super T (polished finish). Also an unbelievable fork for it's time.

Yup great bikes I got mine in 98 loved it should never have sold it!

Every single bike Yoann chose to feature was completely out of the bike park norm. Legit! Also, that knee scooter was mint for off road!
  • 18 0
If they had those knee scooters when I was still breaking myself I would have never healed.
  • 3 0
Of course! What fun would it be to review yet another Session/Glory/etc?
  • 32 1
This sh!t can't be real...The dude with the Haro sounds like he just stepped off the set of Trailer Park boys...And the guy with the Pipe Line...Leather work gloves, purple (sweat?) pants and a bad ass bum bag. 10/10

@racerfacer: Everywheria. I have a buddy who likes to wear those nitrile gloves, basketball shorts and seems to switch off between work boots and running shoes in order to avoid the pair of Five Tens I gave him!

Yoann, heal up as I need more "into the gnar". You look like you're in pain. Actually, glad you did this as it is so much fun listening to your commentary. Keep up the great work.

Yoan has the most infectious laugh in the business
  • 17 4
Welllllll second most infectious. He's not quite ready to dethrone Tippie. But he's clearly the heir apparent.
  • 11 2
That woman with the Airborne DJ bike was awesome. She seems fun.

 I love Casey brown's 90s wave paintjob
  • 3 0
She needs a matching Yolo Cup Groundkeeper Fender!
  • 1 0
It looks like a dixie cup

So that’s how you say Bontrager.......
  • 4 0
Keith components would have been so much easier
  • 14 0
Was it wrong? I`d like you to hear how some people pronounce it here in France; it`s hilarous! Bontrager actually looks a bit like a french word, so they pronounce it 100% french way: Bon Trajet!!! My french speaking fellow Canadians might get it Wink

... but it`s not worse than how the anglo-saxons in general pronounce `Champagne`: Shame Pain!!!!
  • 2 0
@Franzzz: la vie, c'est un bon trajet! c'est meilleure avec des choses bontrager?
  • 1 0
@Franzzz: I've always assumed it was a French word for some reason.
  • 1 0
@Franzzz: no idea if it’s wrong. I’ve heard at least 4 or 5 different ways of saying it, but she probably works with trek mechanics so I’m assuming she’s right.
  • 1 0
@Santamtnbiker: if you ask Keith, he'll tell you. It's bawn-tragger. May have been French originally, but the name has long since been adapted.

I NEED the brown leather gloves from the dude with the old rocky mountain!!
  • 4 0
Get them at your local Ironmongers

"Still Hucks" that is what matters!

The forks on the RM are Z3's. Not nearly in the same league as the Z1 or CR. Same chassis as the Z1 though, just different cartridge.

Still have 2 Z2's, a Z3 like on the RM & a shiver. Marzocchi for life!

Floating drive train holy shit lol

Also known as unified rear triangle.
  • 3 0
Great bike check which brought back memories. Awesome vid Yoann as always!
  • 2 0
Love the Haro and Rocky Mountain bike checks. Living proof that you can have fun on any bike.
  • 2 0
That Rockymountain's suspension works only when seated I guess? It doesn't make sense
  • 2 0
URT (unified rear triangle). And yes, his poor ankles, your cranks/pedals get zero squish. Historically terrible design, way outdated by '99 standards, but somehow it was embraced by some people in those days.
  • 2 0
@mammal: no wonder, it's bike industry
  • 1 0
@adespotoskyli: Totally, just a Rocky fanboy thing. I rode norco VPS in those days. Heavy AF, but at least they plowed ahead with the Horst Link and never looked back. And hey, that's what half the bikes out there run today.

First gal gave a pro-bike-check no doubt. She had her set-up down cold.

gotta commend Yoann, for having an injury he is still in the news feed and making himself more versatile creating more value for himself. Good on ya Yoann!

This was great, enjoyed this! Nice change from the norm of super expensive bikes and pro riders saying STOKED every other word lol.
