 Kudos for the kid doing it on a full rigid retro bike. If it wasn't for the rear wheel (and maybe the front wheel also) caving in, that wouldn't have been a fail.

 2:48 is my favorite type of fail. Significant feature, spectacular fail, rider is totally OK.

 There needs to be a weekly award with this vid series, a popular vote for whomever most goes bravely above and beyond the call of "skill set available" on a feature that's blatantly past their ability before they even hit it.

 If I had been riding and that guy with the bell wrecked in front of me I would have had a hard time restraining myself from breaking out my Sawzall and ending that bell's life. I know, it's the user and not the tool, but I'd likely get in a lot more trouble for sawing that dude up. Although, during my trial I could have my lawyer ring that godamn thing the whole time. It would convince the jury that it was a clear-cut case of justifiable homicide...

 They are truly awful until you come around a blind corner at 15mph and the family you were about to devastate is on the side of the trail waving at you

 @Mtmw: That shouldn't be an issue, because in a multi-use environment you should slow down for blind corners, unless of course you don't care about getting sued when you run down some headphones wearing hiker who couldn't possibly have heard you coming.

 If dude got clipped back in on the jump that would be extremely impressive. Don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone doing tricks with clips, now we know why.

 PB could charge like 1-2 bucks for FF entry then we could vote on which crash was the best or hardest hit and that person receives the pot for med bills or repairs

 you know you should only be riding dh after thanksgiving. All the stuffing will give you a lower center of gravity but throws everything else off balance-wise lol

 1:06 might have taken the least painful option considering that looks to be a 6 foot drop to (basically) flat.

 Waddayamean flat, there is a wooden ramp for the landing. :-)
Seriously though, street bmx and trial consists for a large part of 6 foot huck to flats on full rigid bikes. Learn to use those pivots called knees.
It would be a nice instructional addon to a field test HTF: Obviously, the testers there are making an effort to bottom out the bikes. Would be cool to see one comparison slomo clip with the same bike but with optimal legwork to absorb the impact.

 2:43 is why I'm still scared to hit that feature, even though everyone says it's super easy. Ha ha.

 You would need to work extremely hard to fail as badly as this. Do the two things this guy didn't: 1. have someone tow you in, 2. commit - you'll be like, "that's it?"

 There was definitely some braking action going on right as they were going up the feature - normally the crashes happen on this feature from folks not resisting the lip and getting bucked.

 @Peter-H: Totally. I've seen people bucking or overshooting it. I am more than confident I can do it, but nerves get the best of me every time I'm about to drop in. Definitely a simple, but intimidating, feature.
