Hi I'm Tom Bradshaw and welcome to jackass.

*sends it*
  • 14 1
just me that instantly started humming the theme tune after reading this comment?
  • 7 0
This is straight out of Jackass and that's a tall compliment. @AidanWilson that would be "Corona" from The Minutemen.
  • 3 0
 @hellbelly: great song, amazing album.
  • 2 0
@fartymarty: Kick myself for not seeing them with REM back in the day, but I did see fireHose.
  • 3 0
@hellbelly: Love the Minutemen. Such a great band. The doc about them, "We Jam Econo" is pretty solid.

Anyone noticed that Tom is a badass? 40+ Km of riding Blacks on a hardtail at Alice?

Props to the man, nice addition to PB.

Well done!

If you've ever seen any of the Nate Hills yootoob's that he's in, you'd know he's a badass!

@thedirtyburritto , we need your translation report ASAP!
  • 10 1
@Tombrad: Seriously, love the kiwi accent; don't tone it down because of the North American audience. Stoke level was so high in that vid that I immediately had to go for a ride after watching it. Cheers!

I'm usually pretty good with accents, but I was completely ready for them to ride a trail called Pin House.
  • 2 0
@rrolly: LOL. I totally missed that one. Also thought it was Pin House ...
  • 6 0
@thedirtyburritto: not the hero we deserve, but the hero we need

Why ride a hardtail? Listen to the laughs. Hardtails are just plain fun.
  • 5 0
You know when you're in a state of fear and you don't know whether to scream, cry, or laugh? Well, that.
  • 2 0
For the banter with all your mates when you’re keeping in touch with them...

 Did Jason lose a tooth?!
  • 78 1
I did! Was fresh out of dental surgery when this was filmed. New tooth is in there now!
  • 8 0
@jasonlucas: I noticed you were on a norco sight, are you no longer a trek rider?
  • 56 0
@jmtbf: supported by Norco this year!
  • 8 0
 @jasonlucas: What colorway ?
I'd have picked RF Kashmoney for the tooth Smile
  • 6 3
@jasonlucas: did you design their website for them?

People constantly underestimate what can be done on a good hardtail. Yes you will feel beaten up by the end of a epic ride and yes, the pain will remind you of all the fun you had.
  • 6 0
Let's be honest, was the ride even good if the pain doesn't remind you of the fun you had?
  • 12 0
@theoskar57: You sure you're not secretly German?
  • 3 2
If you commit a few weeks to the hardtail the discomfort goes away. Your body just needs to adjust.
  • 1 0
@JDFF: True, I relegated myself to hard tail only between November and March. Eventually, the body just adapted and then when I got back on the dually, my trail processing ability was better than it's every been. That said, it's taken me some time to get back up to proper dually speed.
  • 1 0
@mammal: so true! Always good to spend a few months at a time on each.
  • 1 0
@JDFF: and then you get old...
  • 1 0
@1000paces: 44 years young here! Still getting after it on hardtails and full squish.
  • 1 0
@JDFF: 41 here, and loving my hard tail. Although I first learned on one 22 years ago, I was full suspension only between '01-'13, and then decided I needed to add a hard tail back into the quiver. Haven't looked back, and now around 30% of my rides are on the "Bone Shaker".
  • 29 5
Hardtails are awesome, no they don't hurt your back, or knees, or arms, and you only need a chamois if you actually sit, which you don't at full tilt.
  • 3 1
 Well said..
  • 12 0
Speak for yourself lol... ride several hours of demanding trails and you'll be hurting/tired from the vibrations... Land enough big drops and the calves tighten up. That said I still love mine.
  • 1 0
@focofox37: took the hardtail on a mtb trip for 3 weeks and did as much riding as I could. Both Achilles took another 3 weeks to recover. No chamois cuz unless I was climbing I wasn’t really in the saddle much.
  • 3 3
My knees took six months to recover from two days in Finale.
  • 4 1
 I remember when I was under 40.
  • 2 1
@rrolly: yup, my back was wincing before I even hit play
  • 2 1
Fun... yes. Hurt... yes. Remind me how you are Wink
  • 2 0
@mtbikeaddict: vibrations are not always bad...that’s what she said
  • 1 0
@focofox37 *brags about hardtails not hurting you* Shatters right pinky glancing a bar off a tree that next day... uggh
  • 22 0
Best video in a while. Nice work Tom!
  • 17 0
The ankles are strong in that one
  • 15 0
Seems like they are having a load of fun, just like you should.
  • 15 0
 "balls of glazed deliciousness"
  • 11 2
I think he should have his height measured before and after so we can see how much he shrunk during this filming due to all the spinal compressions
  • 10 0
Now that's a good day at the office!
  • 9 0
That´s a lot of plastic for not a lot of food!
But looked like a lot of fun on the trails though.
  • 9 1
@Tombrad 10/10 entertainment value, 9/10 presentation, but only 14/15 double black trails, looks like you forgot about Chossy Schlabz Wink

 @FurryCrew: yeah that’s low eh

5 times up Of Mice And Men and a full Debecks climb?!? Utter madness. Probably more impressed by that than the downhills.
  • 5 0
Legit, I'm more impressed he was going up Of Mice And Men instead of 50 shades part 2 each time than half the trails. That thing is no joke.
  • 1 0
@Junker92: That's what I was thinking. Why Mice and Men every time!? Haha. Ruthless!
  • 4 0
Sawyer gets a thumbs up for ripping the double blacks on a hardtail. However, why is the newbie making the rules of the plate presentation? The veteran PB presenters should be doing an initiation video with Sawyer getting hazed to become a full fledged PB presenter. ;P

  • 5 1
Watching these guys riding with SRAM brakes gets me excited for turkey season!
  • 1 0
That's was sweet as bro!... cred mate double blacks on a HT that was sick!... good to see a young kiwi living the dream in B.C and keep this content coming and putting in a little kiwiana into it for the lads back in Godzone... and seen as Christina did such a tasty snack for you AND left you a cold one at the end you need to take her out for some choice Kai Moana - as a good kiwi lad you do play the guitar of course?
  • 5 1
I hope he also was wearing 14 chamois...
  • 2 0
 "14 chamois or no chamois?"
  • 17 0
@Dmaxwell less is more, especially when it comes to the no chamois life
  • 3 0
 @doytch: “pardon?”
  • 4 7
Chamois creme fixes most issues of this kind... Run it moist.
  • 1 0
With a good seat, your rear can become like steel you ride a lot.
  • 4 0
How about a bike check on that hardtail.
  • 6 0
They did a video one a little while back. Just before April 1?
  • 3 0
@Quinn-39: Cool, thanks for the lead. I'll look it up.
  • 2 0
@Tombrad: Thanks, Tom. Great content, really fun to watch, especially as a hardtail rider.
  • 4 0
I'll take "Creative Ways to Destroy Your Skeleton" for $800, Alex.
  • 4 0
Bring a plate Smile Kiwi As!
  • 2 0
I love that Tom chose to sufferclimb Of Mice and Men x3 times instead of taking the 50 Shades of Green climb right beside it. Great commitment!
  • 9 7
I rode my hardtail down those trails in mammoth last season and had a blast.
  • 28 0
Maybe you rode some different trails at Mammoth?

These are in Squamish. How did you get across the border last season? Razz
  • 4 1

5 stars. Bloody great New Zealander.
  • 1 2
I don't wanna be a dick but if these are double black diamonds I urge you to come to Alps. I think that my fellow Germans were way too modest in giving score to the trails here. Cause most of what you did there is S3 here.
  • 1 0
Where’s chossy’ slabs ?? Haha great video tho those are my favourite trails of all time
  • 2 0
 What a madman!
  • 6 4

Great video Pinkbike/Tom!
  • 1 0
That cheesy music at low volume in the background is useless and annoying.
  • 1 0
Awesome Tom. So good to see you on Pinkbike.
  • 7 7
This video made me realize how much I don't want an aggressive hardtail.
