Riding 14 double black trails would be a daunting task in itself, never mind riding them all in one day and on a hardtail! Join our newest Pinkbike presenter Tom Bradshaw to find out how he got on with this mammoth mission.
@Tombrad: Seriously, love the kiwi accent; don't tone it down because of the North American audience. Stoke level was so high in that vid that I immediately had to go for a ride after watching it. Cheers!

People constantly underestimate what can be done on a good hardtail. Yes you will feel beaten up by the end of a epic ride and yes, the pain will remind you of all the fun you had.
@JDFF: True, I relegated myself to hard tail only between November and March. Eventually, the body just adapted and then when I got back on the dually, my trail processing ability was better than it's every been. That said, it's taken me some time to get back up to proper dually speed.
@JDFF: 41 here, and loving my hard tail. Although I first learned on one 22 years ago, I was full suspension only between '01-'13, and then decided I needed to add a hard tail back into the quiver. Haven't looked back, and now around 30% of my rides are on the "Bone Shaker".
Speak for yourself lol... ride several hours of demanding trails and you'll be hurting/tired from the vibrations... Land enough big drops and the calves tighten up. That said I still love mine.
@focofox37: took the hardtail on a mtb trip for 3 weeks and did as much riding as I could. Both Achilles took another 3 weeks to recover. No chamois cuz unless I was climbing I wasn’t really in the saddle much.
Sawyer gets a thumbs up for ripping the double blacks on a hardtail. However, why is the newbie making the rules of the plate presentation? The veteran PB presenters should be doing an initiation video with Sawyer getting hazed to become a full fledged PB presenter. ;P
That's was sweet as bro!... cred mate double blacks on a HT that was sick!... good to see a young kiwi living the dream in B.C and keep this content coming and putting in a little kiwiana into it for the lads back in Godzone... and seen as Christina did such a tasty snack for you AND left you a cold one at the end you need to take her out for some choice Kai Moana - as a good kiwi lad you do play the guitar of course?
I don't wanna be a dick but if these are double black diamonds I urge you to come to Alps. I think that my fellow Germans were way too modest in giving score to the trails here. Cause most of what you did there is S3 here.
I thought that this was the punishment waiting for me when I get to BC after years of trolling the hardcore, aggressive HT club? I'm up for it. But with 120mm fork.
*sends it*
Props to the man, nice addition to PB.
Well done!
