Les Gets is back on the World Cup circuit for 2021 and with a brand new track riders were struggling to figure out lines and traction. Ben Cathro breaks down who was looking good in practice.
@RedBurn: We (spectators and riders) spent the last decade moaning about too easy and bike park courses. Now the venues seem to be trying to outdo each other. I guess an interesting race with unpredictibility is more memorable for fans.
@RedBurn: most of the track looks amazing, but I think that road gap should have more of a landing and some safety netting or something. Oh, and apparently now they should stop letting cars drive on the track too!
Yes! A real downhill track, taped wide, heaps of different lines, everyone having to learn it from the start. Hardly any bike park stuff, just how DH is meant to be
I couldn't help laughing at the girl on the Commencal that they showed falling off the side of the track twice. Then the guilt kicked in, hope she's okay.
Crashing into roots and mud at 25 mph while wearing semi-worthwhile safety gear, or crashing at 45 onto pavement in your underwear and the lightest helmet that one can manufacture?
from a french website, unconfirmed and poorly translated by google - “For now, the first details reaching us from the edge of the runway about Marine Cabirou indicate an evacuation. After the first exams, the news seems reassuring: she would not have broken anything, but the future of her race remains uncertain. Not sure she gets back on the bike this weekend.“ ..www.fullattack.cc so hopefully not as bad as the lack of info might have suggested
