 @TheMastodon - still can't fathom why anyone has it differently, it's like the motorcycle, front brake on the right, clutch on the left. Which is why our bicycles are the same way round, front brake on the right / back brake on the left... seems insane to get off your mountain bike and start front braking on a motorcycle with the other hand...

 i tested a bike a crankworx whistler, climbed for an hour and a half, got to the descent and had a huge over the bars, hadnt even thought to ask them to change the brakes around. had to walk down,

 Nerd Alert... The position of the brakes on bikes has more to do with what side of the road you are on, and which hand you will use to signal your turns. In parts of the world where they drive on the left side of the road, the left hand would use the rear brake while the right hand would signal a turn or stop. On the flip side, the right hand would work the brake while the left hand signaled the turn... Now, back to watching this video again, so I can learn how to drop in off the roof of my car...
