I was looking forward to riding somewhere I have never been. Indian Summer was just a great opportunity to discover a new place to ride. I couldn’t wait to ride one of the top’s Slovakia bike park of Malino Brdo and explore its surroundings.

Shredding the bike park.

Malino Brdo bike park is suitable for everybody that’s into downhill bike riding. It combines the natural terrain together with wooden obstacles and offers high quality for all kinds of riders. Park offers 10 trails and more than 10km of the most technical DH track to a Blue Zamat flow trail. I spent the whole afternoon at the bike park shredding every line, berm and jump I could find.

Ridge Ride.

The next day I planned to go out of the bike park and try to explore the surroundings of Great Fatra. Start of the day was at Podsucha village. Here begins 8km climb with an elevation gain of about 900m which leads to the Smerkovnica hotel resort, where you can refresh and relax. After the exhausting climb, I followed the route to Skalna Alpa where I enjoyed a beautiful scenery. On the ridge of the peak Rakytov, I found excellent and fast climbs which were changing to beautiful short technical downhills. I couldn’t help myself to stop and soak up the views onto the amazing scenery of National Park Great Fatra.

Yeah, I got a little confused, -it's a bike park with no lift access?

There are plenty of ski resorts in the Tatry, so I never know when I'm in or not in a national park when I'm in the area.

I'd like to do more xc/trail riding along the southern border in Poland but never know which trails will be fun and which ones will be torture.

Since forever I guess. That does not mean we don't ride such trails, but we try not to put it public. It's weird to see it on pinkbike... But, there are some legal trails in Velka Fatra as well. Anyway, I guess it's the same with national parks in Poland. I wasn't even allowed to hike with a dog in NP Pieniny.
