This week we are in the Welsh Valleys for a very special race; Red Bull Hardline!

A special race takes a very special rider to succeed especially when you look closely at this ridiculous track. Luckily we have Joe Smith on our team and his success here is almost unmatched.

Take a look at some of the antics that are involved in the build-up to Red Bull Hardline and what went down in Joe's race run.

Quali 4th

4th in Quali and fastest at the first split gave Joe the confidence to push hard in Finals.

Great to see Joe back up where he belongs!

I think this is the biggest story from Hardline, the guy gets a flat and still podiums it. Amazing run he had going and way to finish strong.

Hot damn what a run. Probably flatted from the weight of his massive balls.

You must be some kind of crazy to jump these jumps with a flat rear.....

Propane bikes looks so cool and unique. I wonder if that shock has more problems since its more exposed to elements?

See that plastic thing between the wheel and the shock?
  • 2 0
Nope - the little mud guard works well and the shock doesn't get any more grime than one in a "conventional" position.

Amazing ride and finish . to overcome such a mechanical in that Race is Legendary . The cameraman at the end did the right move. Awesome Run !

Am I seeing it correct, the shock is a little bent on the right?
  • 1 0
It sure looks bent to me. It's weird though, I doubt he bottomed out at all on it....

@takeiteasyridehard: the spring swells out in the middle on those, maybe why it looks a bit off

@nojzilla: why does the shock seat at the top not look parallel to the bottom one? It's not just the spring. The damper shaft appears misaligned and the two ends are not parallel. I understand the spring can be bowed. Its other bits I used to decide...I would love to hear Joe chime in...

@takeiteasyridehard: I think it's an optical illusion with the light reflecting off the seatstay and linkage, and the angle of the photo. Shock is straight
