Video: Pumped BMX 2 Coming to Android Thursday 11th December

I'm super happy to announce that Pumped BMX 2 is finally making it to Android on Thursday 11th December, for just £1.99/$2.99!



About Pumped BMX 2
Pumped BMX 2 has been two years in the making - I started work on it not long after the release of 'Pumped: BMX' in August 2012. Pumped 1 was a 2D game, which meant the tricks you could do were limited by the 2D animations I created. I didn't have enough time (or skill!) to animate all the 360 variations, so if you wanted to do a 360 no hander (for example) you had to do a 360 and then a no hander. This was the biggest motivation for making the change to 3D: now you can combine flips, spins and tricks til the cows come home!

Pumped BMX 2 came out on iPhones and iPads at the end of the September, and blew away my expectations: it was the number 1 game in 30 countries! I couldn't be more proud, and I really hope people enjoy it on Android as much as they have on iOS.


iOS First, Android After
I got a fair amount of stick for this, but thankfully it hasn't taken too long... Still far too long in some people's eyes, but I've done my best! The only compromise I've had to make is temporarily removing the video recording feature - the performance simply wasn't good enough on enough phones. Hopefully some code improvements will mean it can be added back in soon.


The Lack of a Lid
You can pick from a few character styles in the game, none of which are wearing a helmet. In retrospect I should have at the very least given the option to wear a lid, and it's something I'll definitely do in the future. This time around I've gone for a message that reads "real life doesn't have restarts: wear a helmet!" every time you start the game, which also appears throughout the game.
