Pinkbike collaborated with Boston Bikes Roll It Forward program to donate 40 bikes to disadvantaged youth at the Bromley-Heath Boston Housing Authority development in Boston, Massachusetts as part of the Share The Ride program.

Share the Ride Boston
Roll It Forward began as a project of Mayor Menino’s Boston Bikes and the Boston Public Health Commission. Originally funded by a stimulus grant from the National Institutes of Health, the program seeks to make cycling a more accessible transportation option for low-income communities.

Share the Ride Boston
Roll It Forward collects, repairs, and distributes bikes to low-income Boston residents who might not otherwise have access to a bike.

By distributing bicycles and providing proper bike safety education, the Roll it Forward program promotes a healthier lifestyle of increased physical activity and fewer trips by car. The bikes from the program serve as a family’s first step in adopting cycling as an ongoing activity for health and convenience.

Awesome to see PB and Boston Bikes donating bikes to such a worthy cause. Takes me back to when I was a kid and got my first bike on my birthday. I had the same face these kids have here, something every kid deserves to feel.

Glad to see this initiative PB, bike and companies that make children happy, pity that Brazil does not happen much in this kind of attitude, because our government thinks only soccer, I think I was born in the wrong country, because I love bike, I'm happy when I see children walking bike,I really encouraging my daughter to ride a bike.

im glad all the kids are getting new bikes and stuff, but wouldnt it be nice for the folk who donated the cash be told who the winners of the so called prize draw were, its been 22 days since the apparent draw took place but not 1 single bit of information has been shared with the public and more importantly the folk who donated to be in with a chance to win some stuff our self, every time i post asking all I am told is "soon", when will "soon" come around ?

If your main reason to enter was the chance of winning a price, you did it wrong.

This is awesome - giving back is priceless - you shouldn't need recognition though if you're giving - it's all reciprocated through your work big sponsors.

i love how PB does this in boston. boston has a lot of shady figures that can really give harm to children, and some of them could easily have had that happen to them, and for us to help give them a chance to experience fun, i love this so much.
