Team Pivot Cycles - OTE takes you on a lap of their home World Cup in Mont-St-Anne, Canada! A classic World Cup is back after missing the last two years!
Jesus, it looks like they routed some of the course through the downhill run! To do those sections at race pace without faltering on an XC bike shows how unreal the skills of these athletes really are.
I was holding off any judgement concerning the removal of "Beatrice" until I saw a good preview of it. While I still think they should have left it in the rest of the new course looks good and I'd love to take a few laps on it myself.
I'm a XC only guy, and I would never ride that on an XC bike. That's a 130-150mm bike trail and one that puts down a lot of traction. Those riders are nuts and very skilled.
I'm disappointed that La Beatrice is not in because every now and then you get a brave person overtaking using the A line. And that's what we love to see.
@WestwardHo: 100% agreed. I do wonder if given the popularity of back country events, we'll see a return to long races at the highest levels of XC. Was thinking back to the times I raced at Snowshoe in the early 2000s when we had a long technical descent, followed by singletrack around the lake, then a long climb back up. The pros I think were doing 3 laps in just over 2 hours.
While I still think they should have left it in the rest of the new course looks good and I'd love to take a few laps on it myself.
