Taking on 1,000 feet of vertical ridges off the never-before-ridden back cliffs outside Virgin, Utah, 20 of the most daring and fearless mountain bike riders in the world headline Red Bull Rampage, presented by Go Pro, on NBC, Saturday, Dec. 27 at 4 pm ET / 1 pm PST as part of a two-hour full-length special. The one-of-its kind competition is part of the Red Bull Signature Series, the most progressive collection of action sports events in the world.

Red Bull Rampage

Gone are the claimed lines, groomed run-ins and massive built features. An NBC audience will witness riders traversing a new set of exposed ridges, massive wall rides, and new canyon gap as part of the most hallowed event in the sport. Red Bull Rampage presented by GoPro is brought to a national television audience in partnership with Dodge Dart, Polaris RZR, Army National Guard, and Utah Sports Commission.

The athlete list includes two-time champion Kyle Strait, best trick heroes Kelly McGarry and Cam Zink, and proven stars Andreu Lacondeguy and Brandon Semenuk.

Sal Masekela, the definitive voice in action sports, hosts the Red Bull Signature Series all year long on NBC.

Fans can join the conversation as part of the broadcast by searching #RampageOnNBC.

tune in Today: Saturday, December 27, 4pm EST, 1pm PST.

 these announcers..... god damnit
  • 13 0
Amen dude. The announcers are an embarrassment to our sport.
  • 4 0
the announcers are terrible. It's great that the sport is getting coverage on a major network, but they have to put in lame announcers that cater to the masses, which ruins it for the rest of us.
  • 3 0
Why don't they get an injured rider like Darren or Aggy to help commentate? At least they could give a true rider's perspective of the lines, tricks, building, etc. Listening to those 2 was painful!

I really don't think the announcers were that bad... I only saw one mistake the entire time, when either Rheeder or Semenuk did a tuck no hander, and they just said it was a no hander.

"Kyle Strait will not end up a fossil" ?? These announcers man.

Just my opinion... But having to wait so long to watch it loses it's cool factor.... and if i see it on the morning show i might not even care to watch it next year..If they want to do it right it needs to be LIVE. Almost comes across as being corny..... the group hug at the bottom is straight out of a lifetime movie.....

I do agree with it needing to be live. However, I think a replay of it during the winter is great! Winter time stoke!

By not having it live, more people will get to see it. Of course, I suppose you could have it live and then play a rerun at a later date. But most people who aren't bikers aren't going to want to sit around for an entire day sometimes waiting 20 minutes for the next guy to drop in. Hell, it even seemed like it took a long time and I was AT the Rampage site!

Def. hear ya on that....One other thing that i think could be improved was the Footage. Some of the HUGE features on every riders line almost got lost with the camera angles they used...and with all the crazy "GO PRO" tech out there i thought there was room for improvement...Lets face it theres better edits on this site. NBC has the money there should have been GoPro's all over that place.

I wonder if they'll leave that in?

I have watched this event at least 3 times on the red bull site but It's cool to see the go pro footage cut into the runs on this broadcast.
  • 2 0
 That was worth watching.

"Norby" is my fave. He really knows how to tune his "front and rear forks" for those "speed wheelies".
  • 2 0
Not one mention of what any rider was on, or components they were using. Not.a.one.
  • 4 0
 FIRE BRAD EWEN!!
  • 5 0
whoa! look at that speed wheelie!

f*ckin idiot commentators! "Andrea Lacondeguy up next, we've talked about it before, he's either gonna win or end up in the medical tent". jackasses.
  • 4 0
 dont forget Brendon Fairclaw!! MORONS!!!
  • 4 0
hahaha careful now, I criticized him for being a jackass at a previous event (shocker, right?) and he sent me a PM telling me how I was a hater and other funny things.

He's been in the sport for so long, How does he still know absolutely nothing about the friggen sport he's representing to the largest audiences in mtbing history? That dude should be ashamed of himself for representing a sport he claims to love so poorly and pathetically. The dude puts zero time into his job and seems to just "wing" it. Getting paid to travel the world and to represent mtbing as a legit sport to outsiders and he acts like a gaper clown.... perfect.

So, how much will we see of the Rampage, compared to the commercials that will be on. I just hope NBC doesn't choke it.
  • 1 0
Because we all know the outcome it was nice to record it and ff the ads. I'm Sure it was a much more enjoyable experience.

After the story I read on here for Mark Matthews, I'll be boycotting the airing of this event until Red Bull stands up for what's right.

shoutout to Andrea SICK run I was hoping he was gonna win. I wish yeti would pick em up
  • 3 0
OK, that's kind of random....Yeti has been into racer development for over 25 years, but not free-ride. They find unknown talent, sign them, develop them and then lose them to bigger paychecks. (not a criticism, actually a compliment). They do not currently even field a WC DH team or make a DH bike, so I'm thinking, unless Andreu has mentioned something about doing the Enduro World Series next season, Yeti might not be in the market.
  • 2 0
Awesome the way Yeti found Jared Graves and helped him hone his skills. Perhaps he'll blossom one of these days and become good enough to get picked up by Trak or Special Ed. Oh, and pretty sure Lacondeguy needs a sponsor who makes both big bikes and little bikes. Just a hunch.
  • 1 0
Not sure if you are being sarcastic, but that's actually true. Jared won his BMX titles and his 4x World Championship aboard Yetis. I am sure Jared has been offered big dollars by other companies (such as Trek), but so far, he has remained loyal to the turquoise. Lacondeguy seems to be doing alright with YT, and you can't spell Yeti without YT!
