PRESS RELEASE: Roam Bike Fest

We are returning to Brevard North Carolina May 2-5, 2019. The festival is capped at 300 participants and is the largest in our three-year history. The four-day event has expanded to include new vendors, group rides, workshop offerings, an REI-hosted Camp Out, and a Thursday afternoon Kick-Off Party held at Industry Nine's factory and headquarters in neighboring Asheville, NC.

Roam Bike Fest is geared toward a more experienced mountain biker, with a focus on epic trail rides, high-end bike demos, and in-depth educational workshops. Our festival is a departure from typical women's-only events: you won't find a skills clinic in sight. Participants will have plenty to keep them occupied with an 8am-10pm daily schedule of shuttles, group rides, suspension workshops, technical presentations, industry panels, film screenings, raffles, dance parties, and our signature Happiest Hour.

bigquotesWe spent the first two years as festival promoters explaining why women needed their own festival. We've stopped trying to answer that question and just let the event speak for itself. If hundreds of women want to spend a weekend shredding together with killer brands, epic parties, and world-class riding - I say we stop asking why, and let the lady train keep rolling.Andi Zolton, Roam Events co-founder and festival promoter

For the first time ever, participants will have opportunities to register with a VIP Demo Pass, and stay onsite at a fully hosted REI Camp Out - which includes coffee, a brunch sampler, yoga, and late-night fireside s'mores. Another first, the festival will start Thursday with early camp setup and a Kick-Off Party including a Camber Exchange Event (co-hosted by Camber Outdoors, REI, and Roam Events), and factory tours at Industry Nine with company Owner Clint Spiegel and Director of Operations Sarah Wood.

New for this year is a collaboration with the non-profit Can'd Aid Foundation. This partnership was developed to support and advance Can'd Aid's Tread & Trails program - which promotes building and maintaining multi-use trails, and building bikes for low-income children in US communities. Festival participants will have an opportunity to build bikes onsite during the festival, and donate through an additional partnership with Sierra Nevada Brewing Company.

bigquotesStewardship and philanthropy have always been a tremendously important part of our events, and we're incredibly proud to partner with an organization that aligns so well with our values. Can'd Aid has been crushing their multi-faceted mission of do-goodery, and we're just happy to provide a venue to channel that awesome into more trails and more kids on bikes.Andi Zolton, Roam Events co-founder and festival promoter

This is awesome. I'm glad to see this happening and I've forwarded to my wife and sister so they can look into it. On another note...holy crap! Photos of regular riders on Pinkbike. I was under the impression mountain bike things only happened if sponsored pros and bros did it. Perhaps the industry is beginning to get over itself.
