Nukeproof Bike Check and Qualifying Images from Pietermaritzburg
Did you get surgery? My girlfriend broke hers last year and I was amazed at how quickly she was back up and running with a Ti plate screwed in there. Definitely a lot quicker than when I broke mine and put it in the sling..

Self-Portrait Imagery: Reporting Back from the Solo Mission
Wondering if anyone has any experience using a smart phone tethered to a dslr? Seems like there should be a feasible way to have it function as an intervalometer, etc. I know there are some issues about having to root the device so it can be a usb host, but other than that it seems like it might be worth checking into as most people are starting to have capable devices. Brad, I have been very interested in getting a time machine after reading your blog well over a year ago. Always look forward to seeing your shots. Nice work!

Mountain Bike in my Head - JT Linville
Was just thinking about that brakeless riding at the ETSU track, that was ridiculous. JT rips. The cedar rock trail is also great, but the camera work didn't really do it justice. Maybe someone could post a tutorial for budding film makers about perspectives and how to translate what you see when you're out there riding to film/video?

SRAM's 10 Speed Grip Shift
My experiences with grip shift in the dry have been aright. That said, my experiences with them in XC races in thick slimey mud have been horrid and I won't be going back. Just run your trigger shifters farther in on the bar and the accidental shifting problem will be non existent.. if that doesn't work, then figure out how to make your hands do what you want them to.

Florida with Hauck and Lenosky
Been thinking of that movie all week. Did an overnight paddling/camping trip on that river (the Chattooga) this weekend and had that song stuck in my head the whole time.

US Forest Service Partners with MTB Filmmakers
Not sure if this film has had any effect on it, but here in Brevard, NC we're having some meetings with the forest service to develop sustainable trail systems in the nationals forests (Pisgah, etc). At least they are recognizing the fact that trails can be a huge draw for tourism and are a staple for local economies. In NC alone there are more than five million visitors a year to the forests.. with dwindling funds for maintenance it seems only logical they would reach out to the communities and user groups to develop a functional system.
