It's the turn of the Enduro World Series to play its 2017 season swansong as the pits gather beach-side in Finale Ligure with the men's overall still up for grabs. As racers spun their legs along the coast, dipped their toes in the Mediterranean, and sat on the beach topping up their tans, the mechanics were flat out at work with full rebuilds the norm throughout the pits. We went for a snoop to see what was sheltering from the sun in the tents and trucks:

@rossbellphoto
Until Eagle (which works great, I'm not sure I'm sold though...), SRAM was still dragging behind Shimano, but even the Shimano die hards will admit that the new SRAM stuff is pretty killer (I'm one of those guys). I think that's a lot of what you are seeing - SRAM is spending money connecting with the markets and figuring out what people want. Yeah, their Guide brakes have issues, but they rolled out GX 12 speed, while Shimano's 11 speed XT cassette looks like it's from 2012. just my .02
As for eagle, they need to get their heads out of their arses with that pricing!
I'm not really a shimano die hard, I just find their stuff to be better made.
edit: @Thustlewhumber @seraph Mine are more level than Cedric's, but Damiens and Yoanns are WAY up there still, compared to my personal bikes.
