The Canadian crowd came out in force on a sunny summer's evening to watch the first World Cup racing action in Mont Sainte Anne since 2019 which burst into life with the short track. It was the Swiss pairing of Jolanda Neff and Filippo Colombo that took the wins in their respective classes, both leaving their move till late in the race and pulling a small gap out front. Gwendalyn Gibson and Alessandra Keller ran Neff the closest with the Ghost duo of Anne Terpstra and Caroline Bohe rounding out the top five. Colombo was happy to sit off the front and swooped late in the race for the win, Jose Gerardo Ulloa Arevalo was second, Sebastian Fini Carstensen third, Jens Schuermans fourth and Alan Hatherly in 5th.

@rossbellphoto your photography skills are next level. That photo of Gwen Gibson charging past the crowd is outstanding! Not my favorite short track course but you managed to capture it really well. Thanks!

Credit to Andy for that specific photo. The whole set is fantastic!

My wife and I met @rossbellphoto in Snowshoe last year and he was one of the nicest dudes there.... and that's saying something because everyone in the state of WV was super cool. Ross captures feelings somehow, and I think it's voodoo myself.

That was a great strategic race by Neff! Stayed in the shadows, never pressured the lead, only until it counted by opening it ALL up at the last climb.

Very well done, Andy & Ross.

Both races were incredibly engaging and competitive.

I really enjoy Luca Schwarzbauer. Hadn't heard of him until early this season. His body type and body language do not scream elite endurance athlete. Best of all is his antagonism.

He is certainly great at winning the first 5-8 laps of a race.

I always love coming to these photo epics of the races so I can see what tires the racers are using. Love it!

The women's XCC was one of the mosty exciting bits of racing, of any kind, that I've seen in a couple of decades. Cross country mountain bike racing has really evolved into a great form, with terrific courses, easy access for fans, absolute world class athletes, intense racing, intriguing storylines, all wraped up in a package that is somehow professional and amazing but also fun and friendly. Great stuff!

Schwarzbauer is extremely strong, but the dumbest tactical rider I have ever seen in my life. If he had a brain he would win every short track. I've never seen anything like it. Well, except Avancini...

 Amazing pictures, thank you.
