Good condition with usual wear and tear for age. This is a fantastic do-it-all bike that handles anything you can throw at it. The geometry still keeps up with modern numbers, and I ride regularly in the Tweed Valley on the steep and fast trails there. In fact, it's perfect for looping round Glentress, Inners and the Golfie - and the spare battery and new motor lets you keep going all day. The original motor was replaced with a brand new (from Shimano) motor in April 2022. The original motor failed and was out of warranty, and the only way to keep the bike going was to replace with a new motor (Shimano motors cannot be repaired). The new motor therefore still has just under 2 years warranty, and has done 550 miles (see photos). The bike comes with a spare 504w battery. The battery is easily carried in a backpack and is great for eliminating range anxiety. At trail centres, it's great to loop round and return to the car to switch to a fresh battery and keep riding. The forks has a new damper fitted under warranty in 2020 (see photos) - and they replaced with an 2.1 RC2 upgrade kit. Fantastic enduro bike with 160mm both ends, and modern geometry with flip-chip adjustment. Well maintained and regularly serviced - usual scratches for the year, but no dents or dings. Original spec (see https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Bikes,3/Trek/Slash-8-27-5,15172) with upgrades as follow :- Original propriety Thru-Shaft shock has been replaced with a Rockshox Delux. (The Thru-Shaft were notoriously unreliable). Cranks upgraded to carbon SRAM XX1. Recently replaced drivetrain, including oval chainring for more efficient peddling. Brand X Ascend Dropper to replace failed reverb. This has been a fantastic bike - I bought it from my friend who had it from new. I got it for my for my son, who has now stretched to a large, so outgrown it. Still perfect for many more years shredding.
