I know it says Mentions: rynopowermarketing but I would appreciate a clear "SPONSORED CONTENT" either on the main page (so I don't have to click on the shit) or at the top of the article (so I can click back). Although you'd lose money that way so I don't know why I bother asking.
  • 12 3
You wouldn't be clicking much at all if it really was so.

On a brighter note
When your husband is a rampage vet you can n+1 all day long.
Damn that shed is PACKED.

Aww did somebody not realize everything on Pinkbike is sponsor content? What do think keeps the lights on? Unicorn farts and fairy dust are cool the don't pay any bills.
  • 16 7
I'll watch her eat breakfast, you not so much.
  • 9 2
@sunringlerider: Uhhh Hello! I just ordered 2kgs of unicorn farts from the exiled Prince of Zaire and that shit is big money!
  • 26 10
@sunringlerider: Thanks for the mature response. You may not have noticed but most sites label their paid content and advertisements. It's a courtesy to the reader who then makes the conscious decision to click or not. Deceptive practices such as this are known as "click-bait" and make it harder for the reader to know what is or isn't a legitimate review of a product.
  • 12 2
It's got their name all over it. What more do you want?
  • 13 1
@sunringlerider: i think the point is its like 7 minutes about nutritional supplements and a minute of riding bikes
  • 10 9
@Powderface: "mature response"you say? Oh ya I forgot Pinkbike is some serious biznatz. What I'm saying is it's all paid content. All of it. Whoooow Pinkbike gets paid to ride bikes and create bike related content. . . No way bro.

Do you always complain when you get to watch videos of hot chicks riding bikes?
  • 5 1
Well, this time I do agree. Sometimes the grey label says "sponsored" or "press release" so it is pretty clear what you're getting. This time it just says "video". It does state the author but you'd have to know that Ryno Power is a company. Obviously once you're reading the article you realize it is about selling a product. Then again compare this to reading a magazine. Sometimes you flip a page and see an add. Yikes! It ain't that bad really. Now if the add has an url on it (for more information please have a look on our website) you can always not go there. Same goes here. You don't have to watch the video. From what I understood it isn't any good anyway but luckily there is always a comment section Smile .

Its a Rynopower promotion soooooo......yeah, contains rynopower marketing.

Funny how none of the top comments on ifht's how to buy a mountain bike mentions the obvious trek ad and consistent product placement over the video's duration. Complaining on pb is very arbitrary.
  • 4 3
as if “commercial content” was the worst bit about this video... the best bit about Ryno is Ryan Hughes and his training program, the rest is same sht you find elsewhere or pure snake oil. We make whey protein powder, whoopie doo.

@Powderface: you thought this article was going to be a product review?

@sunringlerider: people who ride in Walmart jerseys and wear glad bags as rain gear. That’s who.
  • 15 5
@WAKIdesigns: Actually, the worst about this video is when she throws panncakes in the garbage. In a world where food waste is a real problem. Learn to empty your plate by eating the food, how hard can it be?
Set a good example for the kids people.
  • 2 0
@sunringlerider: Wrong. Uni farts and fairy dust is what builds and maintains trails.
  • 1 0
There is a difference between an edit being mountain bike content designed as marketing and mountain bike content Pinkbike is paid to display. Most of the videos on the site are paid by a sponsor. Would Hopkin's and Secco's Dreamride fall under the same guise? I mean it was paid for by Diamondback and other sponsors? What about any Sram videos of Seminuk, or Eddie Masters killing it on a fat bike... It is all marketing- the question is whether or not it was advertising content Pinkbike was paid to post or it was mountain biking content they are curating and playing because...well... it's a mountain bike site.
  • 1 0
@Thema: probably because the brand featured in the video would not change the content. you could put pivot, cannondale, YT, or whatever you want as the featured brand and it would be the same entertaining video.

@jclnv: I still don't get how many people are being fooled by this "Power" and "Energy" stuff. You eat food and then you train or whatever to maximize your power and energy output, it all comes from within. You can't eat power or energy, YOU create them. No rocket science..

@emponix - You are kidding right? Considering that as an athlete you need up to 1g of protein per pound of weight (that’s actual science) then living in Sweden you’d spend 250-300SEK a day on eating. If you are vegetarian then hahhaha good luck! You’ll spend 2h of your day on eating food.

I tried that, it is very expensive and time consuming. Therefore I, and many people eat protein powders... and no vegetable protein powders don’t make you too holistic... they just taste like crap. Only rice works but it constapatea you as fuk
  • 2 1
@WAKIdesigns: Amazing how we can be so different as human beings. I bet you have a lot more going on in your life, being an architect and an amazing artist. My number one priority is to stay healthy, that's why I spend time on food. Egg, meat, fish, chicken and nuts easily cover all my protein needs during the day. Other people tend to spend time on being sick several times a year and stay at home instead of going to work. I never get sick, ever. However, I used to get sick like the rest, many years ago before I changed my diet. I don't use any pharmaceuticals, vitamins or supplements, just food. The only thing I have to remember is to eat a proper meal and some high calorie dessert after a big day out on the bike. Of course I sometimes drink my calories but I make my proteindrinks from scratch, all natural ingredients. My body loves me for it and I love it back.
  • 1 0
@WAKIdesigns: man you evolved into a scandinavian.
I moved to Dk in 2008, the bread and cheese here has me plugged up...
Rice flows in comparison.
  • 2 2
@emponix: I didn’t wrote it to insult or challeng you. But I have heard the same from vegans, paleo, keto, interminnent fasting, gluten free, whatever. I do this, I feel great, I am not even sick anymore. Like this Wym Hof method. People tripping on genuine, intensive adrenaline kick, but looking for God knows what. Whatever you do I am glad to hear that you feel great, but I just won’t buy into it. Especially that I tried most of that stuff.

I will put it like this, there is no way for me to eat more than 100g of protein a day from “regular” food in a comfortable manner. Protein is expensive, especially organic/eco protein. A 1kg bag of whey protein costs 450SEK. I pay 70SEK for 20-30g of protein in a form of a chicken breast. 1SEK per 1g of fish protein, it just doesn’t add up. If you are a vegan, hah... you have to be rich to get enough protein for any good results from exercise and you will be eating for hours, getting fat in the process.

So to answer what seemed to be your question: athletes use protein powders out of convenience. Especially those counting money and calories.

What I would love to get to feel better would be weed and psylocybin, and this is a really bad year for the latter.

@Cherry79 - I come from Poland, Swedes are quite low on bread intake and generally eat really well. I am eating very little bread and pastas. I gobble tons of oats, bananas and other fruits. Just hits me faster
  • 1 0
@WAKIdesigns: I get you brother. About cost, it could be that I don't find it expensive because I save alot in in different areas. For example, I have a oldschool Nokia mobile with the old Halebop original cash card which cost me about 500 SEK a year. Some pay the same amount for one single month for their smartphone. I also grow my own veggies, make my own soil etc.

For how long did you try each diet when you did? It took me atleast 6 months to really get used to everything and get good at maximizing energy levels. I dont follow any of the trendy diets, I made my own out of knowledge about good sources of protein, carbs, fat, vitamins and minerals. Let's just say I wanted the best in the only department I have full control and have the ability to choose.

The reason I find it easy to stuff my face, well I blame that on cannabis. Although I smoke very rarely these days, I kind of never got rid of the munchies, it's always there so naturally I have a healthy apetite when I eat. Doesn't work for everyone though.
  • 1 2
@emponix: I don't pay for my phone. I pay for my own food around 5k a month. Eating double lunches would mean 8k. I seriously have trouble understanding how people get fat. I am currently on 3-3,5k per day diet, and I just can't eat more... the results in lifting are coming, but eating became a hard work for me. Got up 7 kilos in 2 months and it just stopped here. I am seriusly considering stuffing myself with sweets although I try to stay away from them.
  • 1 0
@WAKIdesigns: Gains always starts fast and then tends to stop or progress very slowly. The trick is to constantly shock the body when it gets used to exersises. Mix it up and make the body say - What the hell is going on!? Never repeat a schedule more than 10 weeks I would say. Don't overtrain. 3 days a week with rest in between is enough if you have that high metabolism. Deadlifts are superawesome as a base.
  • 2 2
@emponix: I know, I learned a few things by now. Currently I am juggling between linear progression and the ladder, but for December I'll go for Russian system which seems freaking rough. Aim for 1RM DL/SQ/Bench is 200/150/100 by the end of february. Currently at 165/125/85. It will be all about bar speed and more reps from then on. Then plyos... those hurt. And BTW those from Ryan Hughes from Ryno are damn good. Very little bosu ball mumbo jumbo. His program seems legit

  • 2 0
@WAKIdesigns: Update on the chicken part. Chicken wings are far more superior if you truly want to gain weight. The breast is very lean and better for weight cuts. A kg of wings is 15-20 SEK when they're cheap. When the bones are stripped away you have about 70g of protein and 1300 kcal. The wings have 30.5g of protein per 100g and they're easy to eat a lot of. I haven't bought breast in years. Just munch away through the day and you will be the winner!
  • 1 0
If an athlete weighing 170lbs needs 170g of protein per day, that's 5100g per month. At 6g per egg, that's 850 eggs and about 1900 SEK.

Ryno protein is 405 SEK for 540g of protein. Monthly cost 3800 SEK.

Never mind that the USA RDA of protein is .8g per kilo/.36g per pound.

But eggs don't come in a single-use plastic pouch or contain glucose polymers!
  • 1 0
@tim-roo: been going on forever, like using a Rhino horn or Tiger paws...
  • 1 0
@emponix: I'm having difficulty believing a k of wings is 20 SEK. Here they're 48 SEK a kilogram if one buys 4.5k. Monthly cost to hit 5100g is 3500 SEK.
  • 1 0
@ceecee: I buy them at Willy's and on campaigndays they are sometimes as low as 15 SEK. I stock up as many as I'm allowed to buy. Rest of the times I pay standard price around 30 SEK which is still cheap enough.

Why would you wanna eat 5100g of chicken wing protein in a month?
  • 1 0
@emponix: Because according to Wacek, an athlete needs up to 1g of protein per pound of weight per day. I'm comparing eggs to Ryno to wings, krona for krona. See above.
  • 2 0
@WAKIdesigns: To refer to rice as 'rice' is an insult to rice. Try brown, black, or red for a superior rectal massage. Olive oil for lube
  • 2 0
@ceecee: rice protein, the only vegan stuff supposed to contain all aminoacids. As to amount of protein per body weight I take the number from Jordan at Barbell Medicine, the number pops up in many other places, and is still less than what some sites for Body Building meat heads recommend. I personally don’t follow it, I did it for a month and won’t do it again. Too satieted, feeling of being full at all times. I stay around 100-120g at 82kg.

And well, sorry I have nowhere to store this amount of eggs, if this doesn’t sound extreme to anyone I don’t know what does Smile Finally I don’t buy Ryno powder, I buy Biotech or Olimp which are 30% cheaper. Often in Poland where it is even cheaper.
  • 1 0
@ceecee: Real food will always be more cost effective if you know how to manage it right. The amount of protein you need will differ highly between a real food diet and a supplement diet. The quality of protein from real food is unbeatable. Mix it up right and you will also get the essential aminoacids.

It all comes down to if you are a shortcut person or not, quite simple really. Marketing is all about shortcuts, so why wouldn't they spread bullshit and lies about food?
  • 2 0
@emponix: I think you two are getting a bit too hippy-proud about it. Most people living in cities really don't have time to figure out one more meal per dat and what the hell they are going to eat for it. If you want to have eating food as your second job, please do. I don't. Yes protein powders, creatine, B-alanine, magnesium citrate, vitamin D are easy. We eat them and get shit done. I also wasn't exposed to much marketing of supplements. every single branch of training and riding a bike can be taken apart this way. Functional movement, pulse zones, whatever. Good luck I just hope your results reflect the size of your fascination. I have spent half of my childhood around RC models and people making them. I grew an allergy to impotence building nerdishness.

I get my Macros, my protein intake. Done. Don't think more about it. It is complex enough on its own. I have a day job, kids, I work in the evenings sometimes, then try to work out and ride. Please... you don't know what sort of lives people live. Easy marketing... for fuks sake...
  • 1 0
I will tell you more. Different people come to very similar results in different ways. I know a few folks on similar levels training in different ways and with completely different bodies. I know folks who live on Pizza, folks who say that we don't need any more protein that what comes from regular vegetarian food, I ride with 2 vegans for Gods sake... as this song with Linkin Park. In the end it doesn't even matter, at least as long as you get results.
  • 1 0
@WAKIdesigns: Most of the people I went to school with have chosen to start a new life in the big cities for a reason. I stayed here for a reason, beacuse I already knew what would happen. Now everyone is complaining all day long about how they do not have time. They seem to have a lot of time to post about their fabulous lives on Facebook, Twitter and instagram. I will never feel sorry for anyone in this matter because it's a free choice. I chose this life to stay true to myself and to live free. You can call it hippy-proud or what you want.

I'm that guy who people came to for help on how to shade an object in 8th grade art class. I already then surpassed our teacher in skill. Her daughter was also in my class and the teacher couldn't accept that I was the number one, so she nuked my grades. After that I gave up on school. I didn't even want to be the best, I just wanted to help. Drawing was something I always did to relax and free my mind of demons, and put them on paper.
  • 2 0
@emponix: I don't complain about my life in the city. I know exactly where I am and what I find meaningful. I get lots of sht done and still have all the time for reflection. So here's one. Training in the gym is not natural, it is not sustainable. I will not pretend it isn't, by making some natural way. By eating just "natural food" riding flat pedals, having no motor on the bike, becoming vegan or submitting myself to whatever form of ascetism I find meaningful. It is all void. Mountain biking is nothing more but one of millions of available manifestations of our drive to be better than we were the day before at something we find enjoyable. At the end of the path, it is all void. You fund something meaningful and it may correlate with others. But it's all coincidence. At the end of the path, in the void, there is no free will. Life becomes a balance between what you think you want to do and what will happen anyways. The plants should have given you some of that... I am a hunter, a scout. I seek beasts and slay them for the tribe. I may walk alone, but each journey leads either to death or to a city gate. I am not an eremite, I am not a pilgrim, not a monk as you seem to be. When I come back to town, I like to be a fool. Because I have been to the void and now I can see the world through it's gaze... and it is my way to show them the void. Source of death or the mirror in which you can see the only one true love, source of life. One implies the other. Death and life. Good and evil. Each one of us can find our singularity between the extremes. But each is always there. And each has two faces. Reject one and you will die a bit...

I need more mushrooms...
  • 1 0
@WAKIdesigns: The plants most definitely did give me something. Schrooms probably more. Swedish "Toppslätskivling" are extremely potent when picked at the right time. I remember my first time and it was alright. The year after I picked them later when the frost came and all I can say is HOLY SHIT! I Did not expect that at all, I mean I was way out there. I had no Idea about anything. Fell in love with the feeling of being totally lost in the woods, not knowing if I will make it home. Then again, not for everyone. I had a couple friends with me and they got quite scared. We were a little late and should have started earlier in the day. Darkness came and I had to force myself to focus really hard to guide them towards home. I still don't know how I did it and that's probably the hardest task I've ever had. I just had to trust my eyes and go for it.
  • 1 0
@emponix: hah I did them a long time ago in Poland as a stupid kid. Now I try to find them in Sweden but this year is really bad. I was in a couple of potentially good locations. I found some last year but was too stupid to look for more. As for a trip, I’d do it alone in my car, parked in the middle of nowhere with a plan to sleep in the car. Aim at a few attempts, Try with small dose and then go for more. I know how to put myself in the mood and let go. It’s all about either being on my own or with right people.

@Matt115lamb: haha no way. Most Canadians I’ve dealt with have been gracious and polite. I have worked with Canadians and I feel lucky to call a few of them my friends. Which is why I take exception to him trampling on the good reputation secured by people far better than himself. The world has enough negativity, the mountain bike scene doesn’t need that too.

@tim-roo: you have to familiarize your self with the concept of feeding the troll. you are not "calling him out" you are showing him that his nonsense triggers you and therefore he will make anti US comments even harder. It has nothing to do with him being canadian or hating the US he is just an internet troll and the one thing you dont do is feed them, you might think you are making him face the facts of his idiocy but in fact you are giving him enjoyment so simply ignore it.
  • 6 5
@fercho25: Why would you think I would troll the comments of a painfully contrived video about shitty supplements and someone who wouldnt have a hope of sponsorship if they weren't hot?

Let's all be positive and thumbs up for more of this utter shite. High fives all round mountain bikers!
  • 2 2
@tim-roo: this is the same fool who came to CO and said Denver should be nuked off the map or something along those lines. Seriously, f*ck that guy.
  • 2 1

No, no you don't have to admire it. We have King Joffrey Baratheon of game of thrones for a prez.

 A painful to watch commercial

Ha! I knew this would be full blown cringe. Comments section was like a breathe of a fresh air in this community - at least we can all agree this trash should have no place on PB.

 What’s the cringe part??
  • 6 0
@THROO001: I think he's referring to the product placement. It wasn't very subtle and was a distraction from a nice video.
  • 2 0
@nvranka Is it worth watching? Plenty of comments on here stating otherwise and if I want softcore I can easily find it anywhere else on the net haha
  • 6 1
@THROO001: almost all of it? Not to be rude but the entire video fell pretty flat.

A badass woman appearing online isn't an invitation to comment on her physical attractiveness. It's 2018, even undie-skidders like you two should have figured that out by now.
  • 22 8
@Phillyenduro: As it is not your duty to come defend. She's a big girl, she can take it. Glad you came to her rescue though.. It's 2018...Where everyone is offended..

I understand you're ever-so-proud of that little boner you get every time a woman in a video smiles towards the camera. Just keep it to yourself, tiger.

Can we just get another Richie Rude video please???
  • 14 0
Cool to get a glimpse into their lives, but Ryno Power has obviously never been to pinkbike before..... logo placement leading/exiting the video is plenty... any more and the trolls bust out the cases of redbull and get into a jager-bomb fuelled frenzy.

Is the protein powder women’s specific?
  • 53 1
I’d hope it was gender fluid.
  • 10 0
Cool idea but poor execution. This is the outcome when companies don't value (read: want to pay for) professional creative services. With better filming and editing they could have told the story in half the time and kept the 'product placement' a little more subtle.
  • 4 0
 Exactly. Best comment here.

She didnt show where she had lunch.
  • 5 0
The only place to have Lunch after a ride in Alpine is Alpine Brewery
  • 10 0
Ugh. That was rough. Waaaaaay too much branding and staged content. I don't buy any protein powder or supplement, but if I did I would intentionally avoid ryno-whatever after seeing this.

Yeah, my girlfriend is a cyclist. I thought this was his sister, who's also a professional. My girlfriend is slow as balls, but she smokes lots, I don't know, can't blame her for smoking. I'm an alcoholic, and she smokes lots, so we pretty much shred the trail into the the ground.

I have the exact same display cabinet. It came from my mom's house. It is nice to know you guys are a down to earth couple with normal things. Hope all goes well for you out on the acres. You should run a mtbiking camp for kids out there. I am sure there are lots of parents who would sign up to have their kids learn from the two of you how to ride and behave like good citizens.
  • 10 1
Awh thank you so much! That’s totally what we are, just normal people who love bikes! And that’s our plan!! One day to have a mtb riding camp. For kids and adults!

Am I the only one that noticed leftover pancakes...annnd that's why I'm on the couch instead of out riding.

I watched her hit the big rock jump step down jump on Jam rock in Keystone CLEAN!! Right after I crashed on it and Kyle through a suicide no hander off it while I was still brushing myself off in the bushes. Talk about hand in your man card. I rode away with my tale between my legs and humbled. She has skills that many overlook because she has a pretty face and is nice.

Be nice to Rach, 'cause one: she's cool and just be mellow and two: Kyle Strait will f*cking smash your face. So be nice. Or you know, f*ck off and don't hang out on the west coast.
