How did you find the seatpost bag with the bike? I tried it on a bikepacking trip in Iceland, and it frustratingly hit the rear tire all the time, with the full suspension and all. I ended up rotating it around and strapping it to the top tube.

@ldhbaker - I was surprised at how well this system worked! The seat bag was laterally stable and when I cinched the longer of the two side straps, I could get the bag to curl up and away from the tire.

I made a custom rack that was basically top tube extended to run a bag with full suspension and dropper. Xc skis, so fairly lightweight. My buddy used the ortlieb and it seemed strong.

How does the dropper move with the bag on the post? Or is it just not used?

I don't think it does - I tried it and it didn't work at all, between the dropper post and the bag constantly hitting the rear tire. Ended up with a different arrangement.

you just don't use it. there are bikepacking seat bags that are compatible. you'll still drag tire on the bigger hits tho

Hi @dargside and @ldhbaker - The dropper post + seat bag is definitely a challenging mix. As @iamameathead mentions below, there are bags that are dropper post compatible, but they have challenges too. We kept it simple and lowered the seat post manually when needed.
