@scott-townes: Poutine is not really an Ontario thing, funny enough the Live Free or Die is not really a New Hampshire thing (yes it is the state motto and you do have nice license plates), it was popular saying during the revolution, oddly it was also popular in France "Vivre Libre ou Mourir" so.....vive la poutine maybe???

I'm sorry that happened, but this overuse of the word "legend" detracts from the people who really are legends. Maybe just say, "Our bro, Drew Bezanson..." or, "Super cool dude, Drew Bezanson..." Using "Legend" to describe every person you write about is just lack of creativity.

To be fair... Drew has accomplished legendary things that nobody else has done and set himself apart. He's also a very nice guy and I wish him a speedy recovery!

@compaqnc6340: Cars as a means of getting from point A to point B suck, they are a huge cause of death and injury, not to mention mental health issues from sitting in traffic all day. Motorsport is pretty cool.

@DuelingBanjos: It can be true at the same time that cars are important, and that drivers are often unsafe, and car companies reluctant to increase car safety. Ever since I got in an accident I'm amazed how many ppl drive like they don't know the consequence of crashing. And then there's the issue of disparate gender injury stats due to the standard crash test dummy...so I don't drive aggressively. I'm not saying that was the cause of this accident, of course. This sucks and I hope he's ok.

@mnorris122: how many large North American cities are truly dense (like, Europe dense)? the only two i can truly think of that aren't a small downtown areas are Manhattan and Montreal. Even still, having a car for longer trips is an absolute blessing. Life is all about balance my friend!

@lafayettebiker: I'm not sure if car companies are reluctant to increase safety of cars. The advancements in automobile safety over the years are actually pretty massive. The rate of vehicle fatalities have dropped by almost 1/3 over the last 20 years, and they are nearing half what they were 30 years ago. Some of that its obviously due to increased regulations making some things like airbags standard, but most of these kinds of features are introduced voluntarily before they are made standard.

@lafayettebiker: I'm also a pretty low-agrression driver, which I always find funny rollin' out to ride DH and getting passed by super-aggressive drivers headed to the mountains for a casual walk with the family or picninc. Don't waste your risk points, people!
And you're right; cars are so much safer than even 20 years ago. Materials, technology and regulation has made huge improvements in safety.
