by Sarah Moore

Specialized Gravity has just announced that Finn Iles will not be racing after a crash in training.

bigquotesYesterday, our little boy who arrived 5 years ago in the program, Finn Iles, crashed. He's OK, because he's now a strong Man, training hard and pushing the limits. But we decided together to not race this weekend, being already focus on recovery and up coming test and training we have this off season. Heal up soon buddy! We love you.Specialized Gravity

Finn has posted an update in his Instagram story.

bigquotesSadly I won't be racing this weeked. Yesterday I had a big crash n my first run and I hit my shoulder and my head so I've decided to take this World Cup off. I don't want to further injure myself or do any permanent damage.Finn Iles

We wish Finn all the best for a smooth recovery.

@COnovicerider: for some reason I read that picturing Loic typing it... Maybe he hijacked the spesh official statement on this one!

@COnovicerider: I think some inside jokes made it to the outside world.

@jorgeposada: by that logic, every World Cup track is lame because some rider has been injured on all of them. ???

@leviatanouroboro: I hope so then it would make it funny.

@COnovicerider: 100% I was reading this and squinting with one eye going like whaaaaaaaa...... !?

@vjunior21: You know the team isn't run by Specialized right? It's privately owned by Le Frenchies

@COnovicerider: There's no way a woman did not write that.

Thats what happens when your mom is doing PR for your sponsor

Really bummed for Finn, but I can't disagree that even if it is some sort of inside joke, it's still a super creepy press release from Spesh

 Relax

That statement was a bit weird. Or is it just me?

 Speedy recovery, Finn !

Bouncing on this ig post... Aaah... Frenchies writing in english... ! It's not the first time I've felt akward reading specialized gravity fr-english. But... Nobody's perfect.
My guess for the insta manager would be Laurent Delorme (pure agency).

 That's the guy

I think it's difficult for some of the people on here to understand what it is like to write in a second language. One thing is clear, especially if you have been at a race, this team is like one big family. I think they are being a bit sentimental as they signed Finn when he was barely 15 and they have no problem showing family affection for each other. Armchair experts on PB have an easier time understanding and expressing hate.
  • 12 1
Did Mom and Dad write that post?
  • 6 1
 don't grow up it's a trap.....
  • 1 0
Bummer that Finn is out. Sounds like he'll be OK which is good. Look forward to seeing if and how he matures next year. What's not good is that the announcement came so late and PB had already locked the Fantasy Teams..... A Big Goose Egg in the basket before it even starts. Christmas is not coming early this year....LOL

Had such a good run at World Champs. Can't wait to see what he comes back with next season.

After reading that, for some reason I feel dirty. I want a shower. And thanks for letting us know what the injury is. Overall, a bloody brilliant press release. Give that man a promotion.

Seems like people are dropping like flies this season Frown
  • 4 0
seriously! I feel like as the depth of the field has gotten deeper racers are pushing even harder. Maybe just a part of the sport evolving? Also more and more riders on 29er's - so faster bikes as well which means harder crashes

Patronising post by Specialized but I find Finn Iles really bloody annoying so who cares.
  • 2 0
He must have went WHAM! Hope it is nothing serious and he heals up quick.
