Remy Morton has posted on social media that he's had a less than ideal start to the summer season in Australia after injuring both his arms in a crash on Dream Track. We originally reported that they were broken based on the casts he was wearing photos, but Morton has since told us that there are no obvious breaks at this point.
| I need to go back for more X-rays next week once the swelling goes down. I got blown in the wind on Dream Track on my BMX so I just came down onto my side quite heavy. Hopefully it's just swollen and sprained and nothing major. The concern is my scaphoids. Just a waiting game for a week or so until the swelling goes down. It's a bit hard with my right wrist because of past damage in that wrist. But I'll go hard to physio and hopefully it'll just be a nice break to get stoked on riding again!—Remy Morton |
We wish him all the best with his recovery and can't wait to see him back on the bike and making more
incredible videos.
We're crossing our fingers the damage won't take him out for too long and we'll update again once Morton finds out the extent of his injuries.
My wife is a good friend...... LOL
1. He broke his Arms in New Zealand
2. There is no riding "season" in Australia, ride all year round baby!

The next few weeks are going to be a bit crap.
Pro tip: Don't do what I did and have falls re-breaking your arms.
An emergency room surgeon once said to me in a rather cavalier fashion ...... “No, no, no....Dont stop what you are doing. We have mortgage’s to pay too”....
I spent a long time pondering that comment, while laid up on pain med’s..!
Heal up Remy.
Side note, fear of this sort of stuff is probably the reason I progress slowly. Because on the one hand "Progression!" and then on the other is "being able to work and have income/pay morgage/etc!"
Agreed.
Fear of a big crash just means I try to be calculated on what risks I take.
Still progressing, but only going bigger/farther/etc on days when I’m “feeling it”, and have been riding similar stuff/etc.
Riding scared is the worst though, totally agree. Gotta loosen up (which for mean comes from practice and familiarity).
I’m now on the lose it side of “if you don’t use it, you lose it” so it’s getting interesting. Same with the calculation, the older I get the more important it is to keep things calibrated. The rust sets in, believe that.
Also, not likely to be aware of news outside US.

I even offered to give him a ride ( Remy ) at Mt sainte Anne back in 2017 at the World Cup. Him and his best friend at the time then.
I know what’s in my cup.
