As the world struggles to suppress the spread of COVID-19, please follow the guidelines of your local health authorities. Even if you don’t have the virus, hospital visits put additional stress on your medical systems; do not undertake any activities that put you or others at risk.

@nimmo: nothing to feel guilty about. His opinion isn’t more valuable than mine to me. Stop letting people with social media followings influence you as though they have anymore knowledge or authority about a subject.
My daily workout consists in tidying up the mess left behind by my kids and cats, otherwise my house would look like an accident between two garbage trucks.
Ha! I wish! Over here it's kids you have leave me alone and go somewhere else in the house while I virtually teach my students. Can someone let the dam dogs out I am teaching here!
@gafoto: seriously, I have never seen more people riding, in groups and hanging out on the trails as yesterday... not even on a holiday weekend. Folks driving out in groups from the City... Trail head parking completely full everywhere. Californians enjoying their corona vacation. BTW, I don't approve of this. I live there and cant help seeing it...
Making the best of it. The new normal will be for athletes to be judged and paid based upon their social media performances instead of races and competitions.
Please Loïc, get your dignity back and dress up properly, drink wine instead of Red Bullshit, and show us how to bunny up and shred a carpet with an apartment bike.
Cynical ex Cat 2 (who never doped and got smoked by dopers on the road) but bike racers can do one or two EPO or HGH cycles, get the gains, and have their blood values back to UCI limits by the time racing starts again. Sad to say kids, but that's how bike racing works.
You'll see sweet Insta posts of athletes working out, and they are. But....they aren't getting fast and yoked up drinking mineral water and eating swiss chocolate.
I mean, we're being safe and working from home. And to be honest I am really proud of what the team is putting out these days.
We just released Episode 1 of The Privateer Season 3, we're working on the Pinkbike Academy for later this year, we'll have our value bikes Field Trip start dropping on Monday, we finally released our long-form 'Enginerding' article about anti-squat, we're in the middle of creating a virtual trade show... oh, and we're finding creative ways to keep working on Part 2 of the Grim Donut.
@brianpark: For what it's worth, I am amazed and so happy with what PB has been able to do during this crisis. I think ya'll play a big role in keeping people sane and feeling like we are still somewhat connected to each other even when we can't be physically close.
In general we have 10-15 at the normal wed night ride. Yesterday? Almost 40 with more at the trailhead in other groups. We did not maintan the suggested distance from each other, did not avoid a damn thing....then again, none of us are ignorant lemmings or complacent sheeple. (Less than 6 MD in the group)
you are gathering in large groups / close proximity during a novel virus outbreak that doesnt always show symptoms and is quite contagious...putting the global economy in a recession...
@surfct: trails were packed today as well...really packed (spring break). Families and what not.
Oddly, none of us are even close to the demographic to worry...today w/PCP and anesthesiologist and a school board dude....I will let them know we are dumb tomorrow, on the friday group ride.
@RoadStain: Just because people have good jobs, have higher levels of intelligence, or hold political positions doesn't mean they always act in smart ways... If your school board dude was seen with a large group going against these recommendations he could piss off a lot of people in the community. And your comment about not being in the demographic is pretty ignorant. The people who are at risk will likely get exposed by people like you who are avoiding the guidelines. This isn't about you, it's about others. But who am I to tell you what to do, go ahead and keep being an ass.
You'll find pretty soon what this vírus thing is all about. You had time to prepare yourselves, all the information and the means, and what do you do? You go outside tryiing to catch it,bring it home, and kill your grandma, your sick friend and even maybe yourself. How can we don't call you the stupidest of them all!
„ none of us are even close to the demographic to worry“
Don’t behave like you’re trying to avoid being infected, behave as if you already are and avoid infecting others. This isn’t about you, it’s about not spreading it so the people that are in the target demographic won’t get sick. If you had any resemblance of a brain you would understand that, but seeing how you behave like the stereotypical boomer dumbass in every single one of your comments you probably don’t.
@blkmrktrider156: Most of us work in a hospital. I was in one hospital for two hours, then a PCP office, then an ObG office....I am sure I have been exposed. I promise the MD's and staff have. With us, there is NO QUESTION we get exposed to nasties each and every day. So, we not supposed to see our families because some idiot PT vomited on (me) in an elevator (who may have had TB)?
I promise we can test you on any given day for fecal matter on your hands, trust me. It will be there, don't even ask about your TV remote. Heck, we could even find the most deadly single-cell organism to humans on you.....an amoeba! (don't forget, we used to play with them in 7th-grade science)
What is a real shame? This one is NOTHING in a first-world nation. On the day a militarized bug hits us, due to this one being overhyped and human conditioning, well, people will not alter behaviors.
We did watch Trump live yesterday from a staff break area. He seriously needs to be able to hit some of the media idiots with extendible clubs for some of the stupid questions they ask. Then, on the news that night all we hear is the stupid questions.
(edit: if people do not want to get exposed by us....easy, do not go to the doctors office!)
@RoadStain: You say you are certain that you have been exposed and yet you are continuing activities that are likely to spread it to others... What the actual f***? I... I'm actually lost for words. You have probably just taken the title as the most vilified person on pinkbike.
@bigtim: Yeah, just stood in a WWII style line at the store with about 200 other folks so I could get some milk and lettuce. There is a line of people waiting to get into the ED because they may have a sniffle (allergies are bad this time of year). Then REAL sick PT's are not seen in a timely fashion because of the delusional hypochondriacs who are demanding to be seen (it will be over 12 hours wait, if they are lucky). From there, ICU has one bed open for CRITICAL care....while the news claims that "victims" will fill the ICU, that is simply incorrect. ICU is not designed to be a quarantine by default, so, they will go to a separate area much like a TB patient would.
But, hey, at least we all felt safe in line as I could see that a majority of the shoppers (normal citizens) were carrying firearms for the protection of all of us.
@EuroinSF: So, today's ride will be an ARNP, MD (s), DC, MD FACS, business owner, high school principal, CFO of a Trauma Center and myself....going to see who the rest of the gang runs into! Certainly, there will be more. I am so happy to be surrounded by such stupid folks while out on a ride :-)
@Upduro: Again, packed trails. We joked with EVERYONE about maintaining 6'. There were even stupid signs to instruct us how far to stay.....they have never ridden behind our one guy who works in Home Health who is ALWAYS blowing his nose into the bushes....
Again, panic is beyond stupid. Frankly, only the unducated lemmings are panicing.
C'MON ALREADY!!! or, im gonna violate your 6ft radius!!
Never ride with bro squads is the first rule of Fight Club.
BTW, I don't approve of this. I live there and cant help seeing it...

I appreciate it a lot. Thank you.
You’re really showing all of us sheeple. Thanks.

I’m all for riding, but do it solo or with one buddy max ffs

5pm eastern....
guess we know who the stupid one in your group is then
