by Sarah Moore

After a dominant performance in Leogang, Vali Höll headed to Innsbruck for the second stop of the Crankworx World Tour. Unfortunately, she just shared on Instagram that she suffered a shoulder injury during Dual Slalom practice and will have to take the next three weeks off to recover. At this point, she hopes to be able to race the next round of the DH World Cup in Andorra on July 13th.

bigquotesWell Crankworx ended quick! Crashed in dual slalom practice and broke my capsule of the AC joint in my shoulder...3 weeks off but should be alright for WC round 4 in Andorra.Valentina Höll

We wish Vali the best of luck for a speedy return and we will keep you updated on her recovery.

All these pro riders should slow down and be a bit more sensible.

@WAKIdesigns: do you enjoy the attention?

@BIKE-TROLL: no, just the level off a*sholery by the occasion of riders getting injured is going up with each poor soul. I just hope my sarcasm detector is off. It just sucks to read such stuff among Ssfety First Kind of Guys posting their stupid advice on gearing up with protection. Quite non sensible towards athlete who will possibly read that, they have plenty of time to kill.

Oh I’d forget: f*ck off

That really sucks, please take it easy and heal up. Don't want to start your career with nagging shoulder issues.
  • 1 0
I even brace myself from all the internets to share about their shoulder injuries too.

I don't have all day to upvote wisecracks aimed at Waki...but you all deserve them. ????

 1. get hurt 2. tell the world about it on IG 3. seek medical attention

@twozerosix: Sometimes I see people that are accomplishing 1 because of 2. Or at the same time. It's impressive
  • 6 5
@twozerosix: Make sure to have RB on the photo too, because ethletes drink this sh*t constantly...

@lkubica: Yeah, and maybe because they sponsor her and maybe they will help her with rehab so that she can maybe get on her bike again, which is, besides being her dream, also her job ...
But it´s so easy to tell other people what to do, right?
  • 6 1
@FR33DOMdotCOM: Maybe I am perfectly aware of that. But maybe not her entire life is sponsored? When she gets a selfie with her boyfriend is she going to hold a can of RB too? This is an injury report, what's next, a photo with rb from hospital?
Don't get me wrong, I have tons of respect for her and whish her all the best, but this seems like a kind of XXIst century slavery ... Maybe she HAS to do this, because people like you accept that

I'd say there are a few of us here who take it relatively easy, so yeah, 15 years of riding and my shoulders are still intact Smile

If someone forced me to stop chasing the bench press when I was 19 everything would be a lot better.
@any young guys who are hitting the gym as hard as you can: shoulder prehab exercises! Don't avoid them. And train opposing muscle groups always. Never spend a year pushing and no time pulling!

The health study fits a little too well ... practice, woman and shoulder. That’s a 50% match
  • 13 2
I guess the report was right, practice makes injury not perfect. Heal up soon.

It's all PB fault for posting that, it jinxed them all
  • 2 0
and they also said most common injuries are shoulders and collar bones. damn, stats dont lie!

 @mtnbkrmike: amazing

Surely the hole career would be a fall-back option if the shoulder doesn't heal.?

 It was her mechanics fault

The DS course looks pretty treacherous; lots of speed coming out of the berms and then a series of flat turns. Very easy to slide out suddenly. Hopefully all the traffic will carve some mini berms into those turns.

Thats what I thought. Hopefully these pros get a special treatment. They told me in hospital yesterday that my fractured tibiahead would take 8weeks before I could try walking again normally... Best wishes to her!

When you're a teenager you heal up pretty quick ... Nowadays I get injured watching Friday Fails
  • 1 0
@cxfahrer: Sports medicine is really advanced stuff these days and they can get pros healed up in crazy short times. You can get such treatment as well but it will cost you!

Sorry t hear that, speedy recovery!
But it kind of proofs what we learned earlier:
Key Fact #1 Most injuries happen outside of racing
Key Fact #3 Shoulders and Collarbones are the most commonly injured body parts
