I love a slurring Greg Minnaar.

Jordie looks annoyed. George Costanza Yankees job tactics?
  • + 4
Check out the pre-season video of him working with Loris if you really want to see him annoyed!
  • + 5
If Jordi is using the Costanza Looking Annoyed job tactic, it makes me like him even more.
  • + 12
@Rubberelli: Everytime Loris shows up I get a little smile on my face because its about to get good.

 Incoming call for Mr. Vandelay?

Communication is a fragile thing. Often, the picture in one's head is not the same picture in the other's head, although the two individuals are using the exact SAME words. These videos suggest some misunderstanding, not intentionally of course, but they are there.

Suspension companies like Fox could easily illustrate (flow chart) basic suspension scenarios on the track. Then, use the charts to talk through the adjustment solutions, their resulting outcomes, and what-if scenarios. Guarantee that the words match the scenario.

More systematic problem solving, less back and forth, more time on track, and fewer headaches all around.

Simple in theory, but with so many different variables I'd imagine it's difficult to execute.

The hallmark of a great engineer is being able to take that sometimes muddled feedback and turn it into real world adjustments and benchmarked improvements. The athlete sometimes doesn't know how to specifically ask for what he wants the bike to do, and the good tuners understand that.

Jordi's basic setup vid is awesome. I'm a keep it simple, set it and forget it kind of guy when it comes to suspension. His tips work for me. Minnaar seems like a dick in that video - he really gives that German Fox dude a hard time. Not impressed.

I’m a big fan of Minnaar but agree that he acted a bit like a high school bully here. Uncalled for, but well, he’s still one of my favorites...
  • + 2
Still pissed he missed that qualification
  • + 2
 Banter, he's heard of it...
  • + 2
@sourmix: Exactly this. There is more than enough material on Minaar out there to get a decent idea of the guy and his style of banter, and I think in that context some have badly misinterpreted the situation. I'd much rather he be himself and throw around some banter and run the risk that folks interpret that unfavorably, than have yet another guy thanking his sponsors and the team and saying the word stoked over and over and over. I am a fan of pretty much everyone racing World Cups these days, but the amount of themselves most reveal is very limited and snap judgements like the above are exactly why.

*We need more candid content of our favourite riders!!!*

*OMG did he seriously just joke around with a crew member in a manner in which I find distasteful!?!?!?*

The whole series is amazing - it shows how this sport is awesome. Just racing against the clock down the hill. I got the feeling we will see more of top suspension brand batteling each other in 10years future. The times are closer and closer and the technology of mtb become more important every year. Unfortunately there wont be another Sam Hill - drifting, having fun and winning.
  • + 2
Sam is still going strong in EWS!
  • + 2
@Rubberelli: Yes he is, because at EWS - tracks are more natural, awkward and tricky - kind of downhill tracks back in the days

I love these videos! Fuck music on raw videos tho, even though you think its a great song or whatever doesnt mean everyone else has as shitty taste in music as you. And it takes away from the footage.
  • + 4
Lolol Greg is so drunk at the end of the last episode.
  • + 3
Where are the SRAM and Ohlins videos? They are the ones winning in male world cups in 2019.
  • + 4
Here I was thinking that it was the pilots doing the winning...
  • + 1
They don't have Jordi and Loris...
  • + 4
Now you know where YT Mob time machine video crew landed.
  • + 1
Greg Minnaar talking about suspension in the last half of the video is what I hear in the lift line from Barneys trying to "win" Satudays on the blue trails.
  • + 3
You'd think these pros would know what all them knobs do
  • + 1
So yeah we did all this work and made this whole episode to battle our main competitor Rockshox but then Ohlins won. Go figure.

Episode 19 is the best! Such a pisser. I need a good tech to service my forks too Smile

Love ya Greg. Hope you continue to improve this season.
  • + 3
 Brilliant.
  • + 2
why do we need dampers just run coil in both stanchions
  • + 6
You could run an upside down coil for rebound control, like a damper but a coil. I bet it would work.
  • + 2
 @jha: thats a great idea
  • + 1
I bet you can jump further with that setup
  • + 1
Anyone know what multitool Jordi uses in video 15 on basic set up please?
Thanks
  • + 1
Looks like a Sigma Pocket Tool Medium Multi-tool
  • + 1
 Really enjoying this video series!
  • + 1
The Loris tune cracks me up. I'd do the same, lol.
  • + 1
Best suspension set up guide I’ve seen. Thank you.
  • + 1
What language is loras speaking? It's good! But not in a bad way!
