Schwalbe Ask Us Anything

For this edition of Ask Us Anything, Schwalbe Procore...

It's only been in more recent times that reliable tubeless tire setups have become the rule rather than the exception, but it appears as though the next step in tire and rim technology, along with the possible advantage that it could provide riders, could be right in front of us. I'm talking about Schwalbe's dual chamber Procore system that, somewhat ironically, reintroduces a tube into the equation. It employs a small volume, high-pressure tube with a bead attached around its diameter that's installed inside of a large volume tubeless tire. The small volume tube is run at a high pressure, but the tire itself is only pumped to between just 10 and 20 PSI.

How does it work and what are the possible advantages of using the system? The special tube works to hold the tire onto the rim, so the chances of pulling a bead off are greatly reduced to zero, and it also protects the tire from being pinched from sharp, hard impacts. Greatly improved traction is like probably the first thing what comes to mind first, but there's another, less obvious reason that Procore could be the next big thing: better suspension performance. Jo Klieber, Syntace founder and one of the developers of the system, explained to us that when he added the highly pressurized tube to the inside the tire, the spring rate of the tire would ramp up quicker when the two began to compress in unison and thus would activate the suspension in a more seamless and gradual manner. If successful, the dual chamber system could allow the rider to use lower pressures and at the same time force the suspension and tire to react as a single unit to small bumps.

There are two provisos here, though: first, we've only just now began to test the system, so the jury is still out as to if it is worth the weight gain over a standard tubeless setup. And second, it's certainly more complicated than what riders are used to having to deal with. Most of us can repair a flat, change a tire, and set up a common tubeless system, but there are more components to Procore and a more involved assembly process required. Questions remain, and that's why we have Schwalbe here to answer them, including: Markus Hachmeyer - Head of Product Management, Michael Kull - Marketing and Race Support Manager, Steffi Marth - Brand Ambassador and World Cup racer and Jeff Clarkson - North American OEM Sales.

How ‘Ask Us Anything' Works:

Starting at 10:00 AM PST/6:00 PM BST on Wednesday, June 3rd Schwalbe will have a go at answering your questions. Sometimes your answer will pop up in a few seconds; others may take a while, as they will be busy responding to the flood of questions. Everyone who posts a question, large or small, will be taken seriously. To make the process as efficient as possible, try to follow these simple guidelines:

Keep your questions relative. While this is an 'Ask Me Anything' session, the concentration is on Procore. Questions related to this are encouraged, but still feel free to ask whatever pressing queries you may have.

Stay focused. Try to keep your questions on one topic if possible. You can always ask about another item later.

• Try to keep your questions to about 100 words.

Ask Us Anything is a service to PB readers who are seeking helpful information, not a forum to broadcast opinions or grievances. If you do have a negative issue that you want to ask about, no worries, just keep your complaints relevant and in the context of a question so that it can be addressed in a productive manner.

Use propping to acknowledge good - or not so good - questions. Bump them up or down to where they belong.

Mark your calendars - the conversation starts at 10:00 AM Pacific Time / 6:00 PM British Time on Wednesday, June 3rd.

Other time zones:
• 1:00 PM EST (New York)

What happens in Lourdes with Neko Mulally Tire?
  • 10 4
scrolled down to see if this was asked...YES
  • 62 3
MK: Neko actually suffered a destroyed rear-wheel rather than a tire fault. This section was a very tough rock-section with a big compression and a massive rock that not only Neko hit with his rear wheel but also Andrew Neethling, picking the wrong line and hitting the same rock. The impact on Neko’s wheel was so hard that the rim collapsed. ProCore might have the ability to absorb impacts which are way higher than what just a DH tire can handle, but Procore is still not completely flat-proof.

I knew as soon as I saw this AUA that this would be the top rated question. Cheers @schwalbe for actually giving a legit answer to it.
  • 17 9
Trek seems to sabotage their racers once they learn that they're leaving the team. Same thing happened to Gwin.
  • 7 1
@mlr428 except the race in question, Lourdes, was Mulally's first race with his new team Scott-GStaad...
  • 1 1
Yes, but I was more thinking about when his chain broke. It was his final race with trek. Correct me if I'm wrong, gwin's final race was when he lost his brakes.....
  • 2 1
@ScandiumRider So the Trek team snuck into their tent and sabotaged Neko's wheel?? I think so!
  • 1 0
@mlr428 Maybe Trek has the Madden Curse...
  • 57 2
Just exactly how 'core is Procore? Will you make a version for people wearing tanktops when they ride? Brocore?
  • 13 0
One with super minimal tread for non-gnarly jump trails: Flowcore
  • 20 18
Thanks for the feedback on the new Nics, they are excellent tyres and are well suited to pretty much most conditions/trails that the UK can provide. With regards to Procore the decision is based on customer service, being such a technical product we wanted to ensure that people get the best advice and service possible and we feel that it is through the IBD market that this can be achieved, it is not aimed at alienating people and if someone wishes to purchase the product online then they are able to, but ultimately we want the end user to enjoy the product, you would still have your full warranty regardless of where the product is purchased from, however if there is a problem our UK office want it to be resolved immediately without having to go through a lengthy returns process.
  • 97 2
Don't joke with a German. They'll get confused and you'll get frustrated.
  • 45 4
JC: Did you grow up on the jersey shore? This is more core than GTL will ever be.
  • 42 2
IS procore really good enough that you can cut off half the tire & still ride? Seems like every picture I see has half the tire cut away. XD
  • 4 0
 WE NEED TO KNOW THIS.
  • 44 0
JC: You’d be surprised what ProCore can do!! But I don’t think the tire would roll very well with half of it missing now would it? However, in the event of a serious tire slice or puncture, ProCore will still get you down to the bottom of the hill! Cutting off half the tire to save weight is done at your own risk* J Results may vary.

Schwalbe's high-end tires are, at least in the North American market, more expensive compared to some of your competition. Is this because they truly cost more to manufacture, or are they other things like import duties at play? Is there any plan for you to try and lower your retail pricing to be more in line with other companies?
  • 2 0
So true, my son had a team deal and we could never get A magic Mary. Even from Ferndale warehouse. Retail for one was $100. ended up buying Specialized tires out of pocket that cost half as much. Kinda sad!
  • 11 2
 bike-discount.de
  • 7 1
 Or bike-components.de
  • 2 1
yep. ~$38usd on bike-discount for a magic mary. some serious duties and/or markups over here.
  • 2 2
 Come one, schwalbe, what gives??
  • 17 7
JC: Pricing is always a tough topic. Schwalbe’s high-end tires do use only A-grade raw materials which are more expensive to buy, as well as using more complicated manufacturing processes and technologies. (SuperGravity casing, advanced Triple Compounding of rubbers, multiple high-TPI casing types, etc). These factors do make the tires more expensive to produce which ultimately leads to higher final price. Adjusting prices on the fly during the season to match competitors is difficult to do but we’re always reviewing our plans for the season and try to do whatever is possible to be competitive.
  • 16 1
Interesting as Schwalbe are probably the cheapest premium brand tyre manufacturer in europe. It's probably a bit like how Sram products are prohibitively expensive in europe compared to north america
  • 7 7
Meh...$65 for the MM at most online retailers is in-line with most high end tires. Conti, Specialized/Bontrager (where you can't get a discount and are forced to go through a shop), Maxxis, etc. are all in the $50-$70 range. Just don't buy from a bike shop where they feel entitled to charge $90 plus tax.
  • 3 1
you can get the schwalbe tires from any online german retailer (hibike, bike discount, etc) for 35 euros or less. shipping is 20 euros, for any amount of stuff. For me, these are about half the cost of a maxxis at my LBS, even with minimal duties and shipping. I have no issue with prices, but I'm willing to shop online - not everyone is.
  • 11 11
It's not that we feel "entitled" to charge a certain price, but rather working within the margins based on what we have to pay. You can "save" money buying your parts online, but when you want you bike to work, labour is what has to be raised to compensate. I know most people THINK they know how to work on their bikes, but thats just another joke altogether...
  • 11 2
MTB tires are wayyy overpriced. It's crazy when you can buy tires for cars that cost the same, and they have 100 times more rubber.
  • 11 7
But thats a cheap car tire compared to an expensive bicycle tire. My "mid range" car tires cost me $1800 for the set. My top of the line bike tires run me $180. Everything is relative. Try buying tires for your Ferrari, campared to a Ferrari of a bike.
  • 8 4
Still at least 600% markup, wayy too much gauging going on here. My bike that the industry keeps tying to tell me is a Ferrari is really more like a Subaru Outback
  • 4 2
@D-Owen Which tires should I be buying for my "Subaru Outback" bike? P.S. doesn't need $1800 tires.
  • 2 1
 I like your analogy,
  • 6 3
So those $1800 dollar car tires are also overpriced. The demands of a high performance mtb tire are so minimal compared to the demands of even a cheap car tire: weight of the vehicle, suspension action effect of contact patch, speeds, brake power ability, etc. Also, car tires can go 60,000kms. Yes, mtb tires are overpriced.
  • 2 0
They are overpriced, yes. Rich country problems hey. Why do we need softer rubber, more suspension or 650b? It's not an advantage when everyone's got it.
  • 3 1
For your "outback" of a bike (ie. entry to mid level) you can spend $40 bucks a tire (at retail) and get something just fine. As for the 600% markup bullshit, parts for bikes hardly ever run more than keystone. Shimano is more like a third of that on anything half decent, and bikes as a whole are just a joke for markup. My car tires are not overpriced, they are quality grippy rubber to keep me stuck to the ground at any speed, just like my bike tires. If you dont wanna pay $90 a mtb tire then dont, just buy vee rubber $15 cheapos... I mean, its just an outback of a bike right so no reason to spend money in one of the most important areas of ANY vehicle.

As for wear life i can get bike tires that last thousands of kms, but those are meant for a different type of riding. An F1 cars tires last 200km and f*cking expensive. My mtb or road bikes tires last a hell of a lot longer thab that, and they are high end race tires.

Im not saying riding is cheap, but what I am saying is dont complain about the price of high end parts when you can easily access less expensive options. Riding is a lot more accessable than anything competitive with a motor. If you dont like paying for bike parts, play soccer.
  • 2 3
SRAM Some Random Ass Malfunction (or so i heard from a great mechanic)
  • 2 2
There's not as much of a difference between bike tires as there is between car tires super car tires are way different then the average cars tires. Sounds like your getting ripped off on your tires for 1800.00$
  • 2 1
So who in the US has ordered from Bike-Discount.de? What should I expect as far as import duties into the States? Went on their site looking for tires, now there's am XTR driveline in my cart, oops.
  • 1 3
And that's my point. I'd gladly pay $50-60 if a tire is going to perform better than the $40 tire. But I don't think it's right to charge $100 instead of $50-60. I'm sure many people could keep this argument going but I think most will agree with me. btw Schwalbr is not the only guilty party ie: Maxxis, Bontrager....
  • 1 1
Ironically, I just bought a Magic Mary. The shop woulldn't budge on price $120 CAD !!! Guess I'm a sucker just like D-Owen!
  • 1 1
Maybe I'm wrong, but remember when Maxxis were trelatively unknown when some marketing "gurus" went to them and offered their "services". These guys made a deal with them to handle their "marketing". They simply jacked the price of the tires from $40 to $100 and people started buying way more of them.
  • 38 3
As the price of MTB tires increases, have you solved the issue of the side knobs ripping off? At 90 US dollars MSRP, how do I justify buying new Hans Dampf's when my last 2 needed to trash canned because all of the side knobs split in half? I understand aggressive cornering wears tires out faster, but these tear off. Have you fixed this issue? I do like your rubber compounds better than most of the other ones on the market, but I can no longer justify the lack of longevity of the tire for the price. Thoughts?
  • 11 2
same after one weekend i was very dissatisfied with my tires.. they worked great but the life of them for the price is not worth it
  • 7 1
I share the same sentiments. Great tire in terms of traction and performance. Longevity however is terrible. I have tires that still have tons of tread yet side knobs are hanging on by a thread. I feel like I'm throwing my 90$ tires right in the garbage before I've had a chance to get my money's worth out of them. Are you guys addressing this issue?
  • 11 4
MH: We are really sorry for that. Unfortunately some production lots were affected without being detected by our QM. But this problem was completely solved in the meantime. There should be only good ones in the marked in the meantime.
  • 3 1
How are you going to solve this to previous buyers? What if someone buys one of those bad batch ones?

I would be pretty damned if I buy a tire with that low quality

I understand you got problems and not blaming you.
  • 24 1
MH: The best way is to get in contact with the shop you bought the tire from or our local distribution. We have a 2-years warranty on our tires, so if it is a manufacturing problem we will get the tire changed.
  • 3 1
That is awesome to hear! then there must be no complains other than the wait! Awesome you stepping behind your products!
  • 6 1
I've been on a Magic Mary for 2 months riding tons and haven't had any issues with it in the front.
  • 6 1
I wished I knew that about the warranty from the tires before throwing a set of HD aways last year with premature wear and knobs falling apart. I went to the LBS where I purchased the tires and said that's just how the HD were and there's nothing they can do about it.
  • 7 1
Not to sound like a fanboy but I can attest to Schwalbe's legit warranty. I've had to do this 2 times and it was as easy as it gets. They made me take a picture of the tire cut and sent me a new replacement. Ok, fanboy for life after that.
  • 1 0
I was happy with my racing ralphs but these have left me bitter towards shwalbe.. if i get replacements and they don't do the same i will go back to buying nothing but shwalbe
  • 10 13
This is not an isolated issue with Schwalbe. They have had repeated issues with the quality of their tire construction & integrity of their rubber.
Schwalbe makes the only MTB tires I have encountered in 30 years of riding where knobs tear *all around* the base before there is significant wear or damage to any other part of the tread.
I had a set of their top-of-the-line Ultremo road tires that COMPLETELY DELAMINATED.
They blamed that one on a subcontractor who supplied the "breaker belt" for the tire.
I'm not interested in Scwalbe's excuses, they're *recidivists* who repeatedly release self-desctructing tires: there is simply no excuse for this.
Their quality is crap, their products are unsafe, and I wouldn't ride them if you gave them to me.
Seriously riders, there are too many companies out there that produce reliable products, vote for them with your dollars & let Schwalbe go the way of Pontiac.
  • 10 1
i don't think tire manufacturers understand that some of us don't live in loam central or tack heaven, instead i live in rocky dirt hell. so i need 60a compound tires, unless i want to spend 500 dollars a year on tires. shwalbe, make some AM tires that actually last in southern california as a back wheel. i really like your Hans Dampf design and would probably pick up magic maries, but i GUARANTEE i'd be able to rip through a pair in a mont
  • 3 0
I had the same issue and was never made aware of the warranty, was told it was wear and tear so payed for new tyres (different brand) talked about ripped off by a LBS
  • 5 8
Who paid 90 bucks for one bicycle tire needs his head checked...sorry.
  • 10 3
@wavetrance: the issue starts with the manufacturer. Yeah your LBS didn't fight for you, but they'd have a HUGE uphill battle if they tried to warranty every Schwalbe that prematurely fails, because compared to any other quality tire on the market they *all* prematurely fail.
Schwalbe fandom is a bizarre cult like Scientology: every apologetic defense of the brand here on PB or out on the trail starts with:
"it sucks that they fail so much faster than anything else, but..."
No "buts": bad quality = bad tire.
Negprop me all you want, it's an established fact that Schwalbe rubber fails & tears where quality manufacturers like Maxxis, Specialized & Continental do not.
Be codependent, let them abuse your pocketbook, if masochism brings you joy, so be it.
  • 5 0
I went back to maxxis... Never failed me in the 13+ years I've been using them
  • 2 0
@TFreeman, There is the Performance line, which does hold tubeless (regardless of what is said), and is much more long lasting. Also it's about half the price. I've ridden Maxxis and don;t find they last any longer, but I don't find Maxxis tires as grippy. They just don't have anything like Magic Mary.
  • 2 0
My brother and I only run Schwalbe after running through multiple brands over the years. We each ride minimum 3 days a week, sometimes up to 5 days a week.
I live in Southern California, Ventura County, a rocky, dry, rough hell hole compared to many other mtb destinations. No other casings last like the Super Gravity. No other tires grip and feel so consistent as my Magic Mary's. I'm no professional but I consider myself to be an advanced rider and I never get premature tire ware. My brother ran his Magic Mary's F/R for 500mi, smoked rear but the front still had plenty of tread left. Two thumbs up to Schwalbe. Make Nobby Nic in a SG casing so I can feel comfortable running tubeless on my trail bike!
  • 2 0
 @NMK187
i am currently on Maxxis' HRII 60a Exo casing for 650b. they work like a dream out here in SoCal. and you need to understand, in the dirt out here, it isn't about the tacky-ness so much as the tread and nobb design. if your shoulder nobbs are top high they'll fold on you in the corners, if your center nobbs are too low they won't break through the loose and can't find the hard underneath. its a very different type of dirt than what you guys have in canada. and thats what i was trying to say, a lot of tire comapnies make tires for NZ or Canada or Europe, and not for dirty dusty South West U.S. or Mexico or latin america. even italy has the dirt and dust in spots.
  • 4 2
I used to run maxxis. Ripped tread clean off all the time. Switched to schwalbe, no more issues. Go figure. ..
  • 3 0
were you using the 3C maxxis tires? and what the heck can you rip nobbs off in the UK?
  • 2 0
 Nah, super tackys.
Not sure what to make of the "where can you rip knobs off in the uk" comment. What do you imagine our trails to be like? Apart from wet obviously Razz
  • 2 1
wet... wet... some roots, bit of rock... and wet.

how does mud ruin nobbs? or do you grab your brakes over every feature on the trails? hahaha.

i mean fort bill with all its slick rock, that i could understand eating up your tread due to braking and the shear amount of rocks in the area, but wet trails i can't see being too harsh on tires, but idk, i've never had the chance to ride in the U.K.
  • 1 0
Yeah you aren't far off there. Except for in Wales. In Wales its wetter, and if you aren't riding on roots, you are riding on slate. From a tyres point of view, slate is very similar to riding around on a trail made out of knives. Wet slate is EXACTLY THE SAME as riding around on a load of knives. And me and a herd of mates migrate to the Alps every summer where I tend to go through a couple of tyres in a few weeks.
  • 38 1
Is this going to be available for 26" tires?
  • 5 0
just commenting to track the response on this...good question
  • 21 0
I just checked the website. It is listed as an offering. Thank the based gods.

MK: Officially YES!!!! We don`t wanna let 26" die. All Schwalbe products are available in all three wheelsizes when they get introduced.
  • 28 0
Question: Have you thought about changing your branding to Schwallaby in Australia?
  • 8 0
MK: I will forward this idea to our Australian guys. To me it sounds like a great idea!!! Any name suggestions for Oz-specific tires?

When using procore for DH use, is it still necessary to run an ''heavy wire bead multi-ply'' tire? Or is a lighter, foldable and cheaper tire will do?
  • 11 0
MK: It`s not needed to ride a DH tire. Our athletes, such as Sam Hill or Brendan Fairclough use Super Gravity tires in DH competitions. EWS racers use Evo SnakeSkin instead of Super Gravity what they`ve been riding before. However, your tire has to be TL-ready or Tubeless. Using lighter tires makes you having a better rolling resistance and the weight stays pretty much the same, even though you adding Procore. A SG tire is ca. 200gramms lighter than a DH tire, a SnakeSkin ca. 200gramms lighter than a Super Gravity. This compensates the weight of the system.
  • 22 4
There were a lot of rumours that you would only sell to and warranty set ups done by registered dealers. Is this still the case? I don't want to say it's entirely unreasonable, but expecting people not to change tires between days at a race is a major oversight and entirely excludes the customer base you designed this for.
  • 14 17
We welcome you changing tyres depending on the specific conditions you may be riding or racing in & this would not invalidate your warranty. However our UK office took the decision to offer Procore through approved retailers to ensure that you receive the best customer service possibly & we feel that this is best served through IBD’s. We have already had instances of customers in the UK wanting Procore and not understanding the compatibilty of the rim size or tyre and have been advised by their local retailers that they would need to change the rim/tyre combo. This type of technical information is not readily available online and in the UK we want to ensure that you get the best service possible.
  • 19 1
so the rest of the world are perfectly able to do it themselves but in the UK we aren't - rip-off Brittan
  • 12 15
@bat-fastard MK: You are more than welcome to purchase Procore from an online retailer and fit it yourself, however it is likely not go through our UK office for warranty meaning it may take longer to resolve should a problem arise, if it is purchased from an authorised IBD in the UK it is probable to resolved on the spot.
  • 3 1
That's poor show by the UK distributors. I assume that if we bought from mainland europe (eg Germany) that we could get a warranty that way?
  • 18 2
You're system has at least 3 advertised advantages.
1. lower tire pressure equals more traction
2. Internal chamber helps to prevent pinch flats
3. dual chamber adds more progression to your tires' shock absorption properties.

Some of the first articles I read about Procore said it was developed for reason number 3 (Suspension properties). Do you still believe this is the biggest advantage, or have the increased traction and reduced risk of flatting surpassed your original reason?

Why are World Cup racers running them.. Less chance of a flat tire, or do they think the suspension characteristic make them faster down the hill?
  • 9 0
I think the biggest advantage is not being able to dent your rim!
  • 3 0
MH: From the beginning the aim was to be able to reduce tire pressure without facing pinch flats and tire burping in order to really make use of what a tire is capable to do. So the most important thing about the procore compression is preventing from pinch flats and keeping the tire at least in a shape it still works. I.e. the procore also prevents the tire from excessive lateral rolling.
So 1) and 2) are the biggest advantage and suspension characteristic helps to achieve 2).
Of course rim protection is a very important Procore property as well.
  • 14 1
Schwalbe: in response to earlier questions concerning what many consider to be unacceptably premature failure of the knobs (tearing off), the reason offered was that some batches of tyres escaped proper QA. That is a lot of batches because the phenomenon of premature failure by way of knobs tearing off, was widespread enough to qualify as a worldwide issue.
Exactly how did Schwalbe resolve this issue? What was the identified reason for the failures? I'm not convinced it was a simple QA issue, as there were simply too many instances of the same type of failure in the global market. Schwalbe tires are mega expensive, and to buy them from overseas markets because of a lack of local (south african) availability only for them to fail after a very short period of usage represents a rubbish value proposition. A lot buyer confidence is lost due to this sort of situation, and the least that Schwalbe could do is offer a sufficiently detailed explanation as to why the failures actually occured, and how this was resolved.
  • 15 2
Will you make a cheaper option?

I know this is quality and a racing product, but for the average Joe is very expensive, yet something that most will have great advantages with it.

Thanks!
  • 7 0
MK: It`s just new to the market and the whole R&D and production cost us a fortune. I won`t say no, but so far we focussed to bring the product on the market. As for the future there are various versions possible. Cheaper, lighter, stronger... Markus will not get borred!
  • 4 3
The cheaper version is DEANEASY. It is a very similar italian system using a Tufo tubular tire inside.
  • 1 0
I know R&D is expensive and that is the reason behind the price! if later a more accessible one come out I would not say no!

Haha better get to work!
  • 31 1
MK: Deaneasy requires you to drill up your rim up to 10mm, glue in a massive valve and you`re very limited in rim-choice. Also The valves doesn`t hold in the rims yet according to their rider. The Deaneasy system costs 110€ PER wheels according to their website: www.deaneasy.it/en/news/29-are-you-interested-to-deaneasy-upgrade-your-wheel.html
  • 27 0
^^^ thats how you win an argument about which is better.
  • 14 0
Is it true that black holes are formed when a Super Gravity tire gets a side wall slice?
  • 9 0

JC: If a tree falls in the forest does anyone hear it? Our SG tires are oozing gravity so there is a good chance you may get sucked into a black hole vortex during your ride if this happens. However this could launch you through a worm hole to an unknown location, perhaps you’ll pop out closer to the finish line? Teleportation could be very real… we have our best people out testing the theory right now.
  • 14 4
Don't we lose the benefits of tubeless by going to a procore system? If so, why do the claimed benefits of procore outweigh the loss of benefits of a tubeless tire?

BTW, Magic Mary is hands down the best front tire out there. Just facking great.
  • 3 2
what type of riding do you use the Magic Mary for? I think I need to try it someday...currently running hampsdampf in front of my allmountain bike, I love it.
  • 3 2
I use it for all types of riding, but the steeper and looser it gets, the better it is. Traction is insane. I was using HD, but won't go back after using the MM.

I need to try schwalbe. I never have because of the stories about the difficulties of getting the tyres on/off and the quick wear time.

But I really want to try the rock razor, hans dampf and magic mary. They inflate really wide when they're tubeless and for the grip on offer they roll pretty fast too.
  • 21 1
You've never tried them but they grip & roll well.....^^^^

Well the softer compounds wear out quickly and they are hard to get on and off. Or that's what I've heard. Not ideal when you get a flat or when you change tyre combo every other ride because of the changing weather in the uk.
  • 2 0
Minimal weight gain with even lower pressures and no burping I would think is their answer...

The performance isn't the only thing that's important when buying a product... If it wears out quickly and costs a lot, I tend to avoid it even if the performance is one of the best. My current tyres are conti der kaisers on my downhill bike and bonty xr4 on my trail bike and they are both very good sets which last a long time. That's my preference.
  • 1 3
Magic Mary Muddy Marry I hate to say but the Muddy Marry are missed. RIP
  • 4 0
We offer different compounds for different scenarios. Most riders usually opt for Vertstar, this is our DH secific compound and whilst offering the best grip it is very fast wearing. Depending on your riding style we would recommend looking at Trailstar (on the Front) & Pacestar (on the Rear) compounds for Trail/Enduro/XC riding. Trailstar compound will offer even the most accomplished riders an excellent level of grip & rolling speeds for most Trail Centres, Pacestar offers good grip and a long life span & very fast rolling speeds.
  • 6 4
MH: No, you don't, because the outer TL- tire touches the procore just in case of hard impacts. That makes the tire sysem more progressive than usual but the tire properties itself are not affected. A lot of test rider even did not feel the procore as is starts to compress rather smoothly.
  • 1 0
I am running HD front Rock Razer rear on my Trek Fuel. Absolutely love it. I run tubes because I'm lazy and run between 20 and 24 psi and have had only 1 pinch flat. Does pro-core require sealant in the tire still?
  • 3 5
MK: @deadtime - If you run a TL-ready tire you always have to use sealant. I`m not sure there are still TL tires around you wanna use with Procore.
  • 1 0
My experience riding in the Southwest is that the casings are lighter weight and the compounds are softer than Maxxis, so you need to buy "one step up". For example: Snakeskin for XC racing and Super Gravity for trail riding, otherwise they puncture and tear more easily than I'd like. I also find that anything other than Pacestar wears very quickly, even on the front. A Trailstar EVO is going to be shredded in a couple of weeks, but a Super Gravity Pacestar will last 3 months, which is comparable to a Maxxis EXO Dual Compound for me.
  • 8 0
Why has tire/tube technology been so slow to evolve? We still see dreams crushed every World Cup due to flats. Does risking light and fast still beat tough and durable, even at World Cup speeds?
  • 17 2
Colin Chapman: "any car which holds together for a whole race is too heavy"
  • 3 0
would that hold true for off-road, downhill car races?
  • 3 0
MH: Actually there was always a steady evolution. But just in smaller steps. Reason is that basic tire rim design works so well in generall and can be made very lightweight. That's the reason why it hasn't changed fundamentally since decades.
But please remember inventions like tubeless, snake skin, super gravity, latex based sealant etc.
With Procore we had the chance to make a very big step ahead and we are sure it will have significant influence on the bike world.

Yes, racers still risk punctures as they prefer light wheels. But choosing bike components for racing is always like searching for the best individual compromise.
Procore will make life easier for lots of racers in future.

Fairclough was asked why he ran his pressure in the mid 20's when he could be running lower due to the procore system. His response was that he didn't like them squirming.

Will procore produce less tyre squirm? Although a lighter casing can be used won't the new limiting psi factor just become how much squirm you can deal with?
  • 6 1
MK: Since Brendan and these guys are riding probably double as much speed as we normal rider so, he puts different forces on his bike. When you want to run your Bike on hardpack bikepark slopes, Procore is not that much of a advantage for you than on technical and rocky terrain. I love to go very low on the pressure when the trails are getting technical and steep. In fast bikepark-kind-of-trails I ride a higher pressure.
  • 2 0
MK: Speaking to Brendan, here is what he rode in his tires at Leogang Worldcup:
Front: 22 psi / 1,52 Bar
Rear: 26 psi / 1,79 Bar

  • 1 0
@fish-monkey MK: The UK is expecting an imminent delivery and will be stockists shortly, have you ordered a set through your local IBD?
  • 1 0
@schwalbe Not yet as I really wanted an answer to my question about rim depth. I have quite deep carbon rims and want to be sure the valve will reach through before shelling out. Thanks!
  • 1 0
MK: What rims are you riding on @fish-monkey ? Ibis - works, ENVE - too high to fit Procore.
  • 1 0
I'm on some Light Bicycle ones @schwalbe. They measure just shy of 23mm from inside the tyre bed to the outside face of the spoke bed. Fingers crossed that's not too far! Thanks!

Do your side knobs still fall off after a few weeks of riding? Seriously not trying to be a jerk here, but I have and really poor experiences on your expensive tires. I had this issue with the Hans Dampf and the Nobly Nic with both vert star and trail star compounds. I would like to gibe the Magic Marry a shot because I've heard good things but my past experiences have left a bad taste in my mouth.
  • 1 0
I rode my dirty dan mud tyres for 8 months solid in mud all the way to alpine rock and never lost a knob. The side knobs cracked around the edges from running them soft but they never came off
  • 5 0
Why did you guys decide to make Procore only available to select Schwalbe stockists in the UK? Is it a issue with fitting the system or is it something else? Cheers, it just seems a bit strange. Got a set of the new Nobby Nics and love them Smile
  • 3 2
I read somewhere that ProCore has to be installed by authorised stockists?
So rather than take different tyres to a race. With dodgy weather, it'll be different wheelset with tyres allready installed?
  • 6 0
Just take your authorised stockist with you.
  • 1 0
MK: Thanks for the feedback on the new Nics, they are excellent tyres and are well suited to pretty much most conditions/trails that the UK can provide. With regards to Procore the decision is based on customer service, being such a Technical product we wanted to ensure that people get the best advice and service possible and we feel that it is through the IBD market that this can be achieved, it is not aimed at alienating people and if someone wishes to purchase the product online then they are able to but ultimately we want the end user to enjoy the product, you would still have your full warranty regardless of where the product is purchased from, however if there is a problem we want in the UK want it to be resolved immediately without having to go through a lengthy returns process.
  • 3 0
I think people are wanting to know why this decision has been made purely in the UK.
It appears as though we are being somewhat more restricted than the rest of the world no?
  • 1 1
Its so technical the girl above could of done it with one hand by the look of it... So are you telling us that say the French are more able than us?
  • 1 3
@randybadger @bat-fastard - MK: As explained above our UK office values the IBD market and the advice & service that only they can really offer. As mentioned before we have already had instances of customers in the UK wanting Procore and not understanding the compatibilty of the rim size or tyre required and have been advised by their local retailers that they would need to change the rim/tyre combo. Procore purchased from online retailers, is still open to 2 years warranty, but the UK office feel that with such a Technical Product it is best sold by retailers who are able to provide a level of service that online retailers do not currently offer.
  • 2 2
Well it looks like UK online retailers are ready to sell it when stock arrives and are taking pre-orders so it isn't having to be fitted by shops.
Still didn't answer my question of how are the rest of the world able to manage but not us?
  • 9 1
Why is a fancy innertube so expensive?
  • 5 0
MH: Producing high quality inner tubes is much more complex than most people might think and requires a high end butyl compound with several very specific properties like tightness, low rolling resistance, low weight, cut resistance, durability etc. etc.
  • 8 4
I don't see Procore as a viable option for flat protection, as it is very easy to puncture through the tire. It would be good for preventing burping, but that seems to be it. I have used a similar system in moto racing and it turned out to be a disadvantage. Even on my mtb, I run tubeless, but I get holes in my tires more often than I burp air.

I see the development of a lightweight mousse system (or even tire balls) for dh racing. 100% flat proof. Or, at least a better bead/rim interface that is much more robust than what is currently available. Call it a downhill "standard" if you will. What do you think about looking into a mousse or some other flat eliminating technology?
  • 2 1
It will reduce the chance of cuts in tires because lower pressure better allows the tire to conform to terrain
  • 1 0
Mousse is too heavy for mtb. Correct me if I'm wrong, but with ProCore, if you puncture the tire, the ProCore will get you down to the bottom with out damaging your rim.
  • 3 0
A mouse using the tradition foam already being used is too heavy yes. There are some smart people in this World who I'm sure can develop something really light. We need NASA in on this! Wink
  • 6 0
MH: Procore is much more useful for MTB than certain systems for MX. For MX it "just" helps to make the rim airtight for being able to ride very low pressure. Procore does not seal the rim but helps to be able to ride very low pressure as well. Additionally it is an very effective snake bite protection and prevents 100% from burping. By riding about 15psi the tire performance is incredible. And as sealant is obligatory, regular punctures loose its threat. Of course we think about other techniques like mousse etc., but all those solutions are still too heavy with inadmissible increase in rolling resistance!
  • 6 2
100% of my flats are punctures in the tire that are too large for sealant to close up.
  • 1 0
I've gotten a fair number of flats this spring (7 at last count). Most of which were tubeless pinch flats (all the holes are always in the exact same spot on the tire profile from pinching on the rim). I run 30-35 PSI air on my trail bike and it's still not enough. I've had to resort to riding a DH casing on my rear for my trail bike. For a guy like me, this would allow me to go back to my EXO TR minion instead of the DH casing allowing me to save 200 grams in weight. Not ideal, but better than my current option....
  • 1 0
are you including the weight of the procore tube in that?
  • 2 0
@WayneParsons minion EXO TR tire = 850 grams, a minionDH tire = 1250 grams. From what I understand, procore adds 200gram per wheel which result in a 200 gram weight savings for me if I can go back to EXO TR and not suffer so many flats..
  • 7 0
I always use moose in my tires when riding in Canada
  • 1 0
MK: @WayneParsons what tire are you running? Are you riding them with Doc Blue sealant?
  • 2 1
@schwalbe no I am not. Care to let me try it? For tires, I run Maxxis mostly.
  • 7 1
Why are the Magic Mary tires so hard to fit to Enve rims? Why has the Procore system been delayed so much, were there problems with the system or the production?
  • 11 0
MK: We stick to the ETRTO sizes, the European Tire and rims technical organisation. There are no exact rules how big a tire or a rim should be. However, the European manufacturer agreed on standards, that most American or Asian manufacturer don`t wanna stick to. We see lots of rims these days which are too big, especially carbon hookless rims. If you use a rim of DT, Syntace, Mavic or other ETRTO conform manufacturer you will not have these problems.

Always make sure the tire bead is in the middle of the rim!
  • 1 0
pop the tire in the oven at 50/60 degree of 5 minutes (a bucket of hot water works too), should fit onto your Enve much better. Seems to have no detrimental effect on the tyre...have been running magics since they came out and have never had a berp or flat.
  • 6 0
I enjoy how they use a woman to demonstrate installation. So men should be less likely to complain if installing gives them fits. Their masculinity will be at stake
  • 4 0
SM: Clever huh? It really is easy to mount though!
  • 3 0
The Procore is very similar to Nuetech’s Tubliss system, a system that works with any tyre, is there anything limiting the pocore’s use to Schwalbe tyres?

That’s not to say I am against the use of Schwalbe tyres, I am just curious if you’re going to limit your market?
  • 5 1
MH: Many have compared the PROCORE system to the Tubliss system offered in the off-road motorcycle market. While the concept is similar, the construction process is far different.

First off, the Tubliss system utilizes two valves, one for each chamber, to inflate the system requiring multiple valve holes drilled in the rim. With rims constructed of multiple materials in the mountain bike industry, Carbon, Aluminum, and Magnesium just to name a few, Schwalbe designed the PROCORE system to use only one valve. The valve is a special patented two-way valve on the tube to inflate the two chambers. The upper part of the valve is a selector; with a simple turn you select the chamber into which the air is to be pumped.

The second major difference is the PROCORE AIR GUIDE. Not only does this specially designed piece allow air to easily fill the outer chamber, it is constructed of an extremely flexible material eliminating a hard spot in the tire. Tire sealant and latex do not stick to this special material eliminating the need for constant cleaning.
  • 1 0
Thank you for highlighting the differences. Sorry, perhaps I should have been clearer. Tubliss was only mentioned as an example of an existing similar (but obviously very different) product.

My question was actually: Will be making the Procore compatible with / available for other tyre brands?
  • 14 0
MK: Procore is compatible with every TL or TL-Ready tire. You can always ride a Kenda, Maxxis, Conti or whatever tire as long as your local dealer waits for his delivery of your new Schwalbe tire.
  • 6 0
Your tires work so well but why do i keep tearing entire knobs off? Is it a compound thing or design issue?
  • 4 1
MK: We`ve had a period of time where TrailStar Compound tires were not as good as we want them to be. In case you have a faulty tire, please contact your local dealer and he will check back with the local Schwalbe distribution if your tire is a warranty issue and will replace it in case it is.
  • 14 0
Bike shop: "talk to Schwalbe, they'll take care of you". Schwalbe: " talk to shop, they'll take care of you" Yeah, heard that one before!
  • 2 0
Sounds like you need a new bike shop.
  • 1 0
MK: In case of any problems with your bike shop, always feel free to speak to us directly. We will get in touch with the shop then. Your local bike shop always is always the one who`s your first contact as he knows your area and the riding in your area, maybe you as a rider and your bike. We believe that the bike shop is the best way to buy a product, however we know there are different kinds of bike shops. If you`re not happy with the shop you are usually buying from, try another one.

Is Schwalbe Procore being used by any World Cup XC racers? Is Procore something that XC racers would use, or is it a product mainly targeted towards enduro and downhill riders? Would the weight penalty of Procore be something that would be a turn off for World Cup XC racers?
  • 4 1
MH: So far, yes. XC racer don`t use it yet, since they have tech zones and dare the add-on on weight. Procore is originally developed for Enduro and DH racer, but who knows what the future brings...
  • 2 0
I can't seem to keep my 29er wheels from getting dings. I ride my 29er (Specialized Enduro) in Whistler, and other bike parks as the bike is so capable but the all 29er wheels even running 28-30 PSI seem prone to dings.

Do you suggest a procore setup for someone like myself looking to get a more bullet proof setup for 29er wheels as super thick tubes and beefy tires aren't an option (only 26 and 27.5) to enhance durability?
  • 1 0
JC: ProCore would certainly help prevent dings in your 29er wheels for this type of riding and terrain. You’ll still have the great benefits of a tubeless tire set-up while also having the bottoming resistance offered from the ProCore inner tire. In the event of a very hard hit to the tire, instead of the tire compressing and bottoming on the rim, the ProCore will absorb the impact, prevent the tire from a snakebite on the rim, and the rim from damage/dings from hitting the ground. Procore can act as added ‘insurance’ for your wheels and would be a good way to enhance overall durability.

What do you think about using Procore only on the rear wheel of Trailbikes and All Mountain bikes. I've never had a pinch flant on my front wheel.
  • 2 0
Has the diameter of the inner Procore tire been selected based on what is optimum for best performance, or were concessions made with weight, ease of installation, etc? How does inner tire diameter affect performance? Similar questions regarding recommended inner tire pressure. Thanks!
  • 2 0
MH: The diameter of the Procore was fixed to achieve the best compromise over all important properties. But first aim was tire performance and thus bike performance and finally having more fun on the bike. Procore pressure recommendation is 4Bar to 6Bar. Setting the pressure at 6Bar brings pinch flat resistance to the maximum. 4Bar makes the compression a bit softer. So you must find out according to your riding style. So 5Bar is a good pressure to start with for finding out your personal needs.

Soooo, no one thought to ask exactly HOW Jacy stuffs a Schwalbe Procore kit into a 650b Mavic DeeMax Ultimate rim when on Mavic's site the inner width is listed as 21mm? This is the same internal width as the 26" versions. (Jacy is Hill's mechanic and the minimum inner width for a rim to be Procore compatible is 23mm)
  • 2 0
MK: Jacy is a bloody good mechanic. We don`t say, the system doesn`t work on smaller rims than 23mm, it`s just one hell of a job to mount those four tire beads on the rim. I cannot suggest it to a non-experienced rider to mount a set of Procore on some Deemax, but it`s possible to do it and win races on it.
  • 2 0
Wow - MK, thank you very much for taking the time to back track and answer this! Indeed he (Jacy) is. Many years ago I helped out Iron Horse with tech support, and was able to watch him work his magic on Sammy's bike in the pits on occasion. =) Interesting - as this was what I was thinking; it would be extremely difficult to squeeze the beads into the channel of the rim bed on something like a Mavic DeeMax, but not impossible. Provided there are no adverse issues or dangers from doing so, I may try this myself with some rims that barely meet the 23mm criteria.
  • 1 0
I've owned several sets of Scwalbe tires in the old Gooey Gluey compound that performed and lasted ok. The last Big Betty I bought had the newer Trailstar triple compound however, and the side knobs started to tear off after a single ride just like several others have reported. At around $90 a tire I consider that kind of longevity to be a manufacturers defect. Switched to Continentals and personally am happier with them all the way around.
  • 2 0
MK: I´m sorry you made this bad experience with our tires. Big Betty is not anymore produced for quite a while and it`s hard to tell what`s the problem. The newest TrailStar compound lasts very long which I can prove with personal experience. You should give it a try, I`m sure you won`t be disappointed.
  • 1 0
Why would I consider this system, which seems to benefit from running lower psi when I personally run a pressure in my tires that is higher than the recommend (not by much)? I can tell when my tires are up or down +/- 2 psi. Too soft and the tire squirms, too hard and loss of traction.
  • 1 0
Personally I get a ton of wear on my 29x2.25 Nobby Nic and 29x2.25 Racing Ralph setup. I push 1100-1300 miles on a rear, and the front just keeps on going. I can't speak for full downhill/endure guys, but I love the Schwalbe tire line-up.

So do you see ProCore benefiting any XC/AM riders in local trails, etc? I run snakeskin which seems to have reduced my flats, but RR and NN still have relatively thin carcus, so do you see ProCore being a solution that XC riders would use? Seems to counter the performance/weight benefits, but still interested in your answer. Thank You!
  • 1 0
Schwalbe, thanks for your reply. I'm new to posting on pinkbike and must admit I read the guidelines for "Ask Anything" after posting my comment. I've recently switched from an older 6" all mountain bike to a new school geometry, steel frame 29er for trail riding out here in the Pacific North West. I have had a hard time finding a good balance between traction on slimy rocks and roots and enough air pressure to keep from damaging my rim on them at higher speeds. I think your ProCore system will be worth a try.
  • 1 0
I ordered and paid for the order for the 29er set in January 2015 at hibike.de, The status of the product at hibike is
"Vorbestellung möglich. Artikel ist von uns beim Lieferanten bestellt." One I asked the shop when can they can send me the set, they said that they do not know since the wholesaler does not know when the set would be available since Schwalbe is having difficulties with producing the valve.
So maybe You could tell me when can I expect the parcel.

MK: We offer different compounds for different scenarios. Most riders usually opt for Vertstar, this is our DH secific compound and whilst offering the best grip it is very fast wearing and is not always the best choice & so it is a compromise. Depending on your riding style we would recommend looking at Trailstar (on the Front) & Pacestar (on the Rear) for most Trail/XC riding. Trailstar compound will offer even the most accomplished riders an excellent level of grip & rolling speeds for most Trail Centres or Trail rides, Pacestar offers good grip a long life span & very fast rolling speeds.
  • 1 0
Hi , having had problems with some hans dampf tyres wearing out a little faster than i would like , and not wanting to sacrifice good grip
by changing to a new nobby nic or changing to a slower magic mary , are you guys going to release a ramped tyre in the future , maybe a ramped HD?
or could i use the procore in a new nobby nic and make it grip more with lower pressures?
thanks
  • 1 0
MK: Hi, Do you know which compound you are using? We offer different compounds for different scenarios. Most riders usually opt for Vertstar, this is our DH secific compound and whilst offering the best grip it is very fast wearing. Depending on your riding style we would recommend looking at Trailstar (on the Front) & Pacestar (on the Rear) compounds for Trail/Enduro/XC riding. Trailstar compound will offer even the most accomplished riders an excellent level of grip & rolling speeds for most UK Trail Centres, Pacestar offers good grip and a long life span & very fast rolling speeds.

The new Nobby Nic is not available in Vertstar for this reason and I would suggest possibly looking at the above compound options, however one point to make, the new Nobby Nic is a grippier tyre than the Hans Dampf.

MH: If you are looking for top performance with reasonable tire wear magic mary should be your choice. We offer a rather lightweight snake skin version which works great with procore. BTW this is my personal vavourite combined with Procore!

Nobby Nic and others can be used with Procore as well improving tire performance drastically.
  • 1 0
hi , thanks for the reply , I have used many hans dampfs , mainly trail star and pacestar in both evo and SG fully tubeless.
i have had a few email conversations with Felix from Schwalbe in Germany about the wear rate and he said that before august last year there had been some problems , but assured me that after that date the newer HD tyres would be ok as you changed the compoun/makeup slightly....

i was let to think that only a dan or mary was grippier than an HD , so what you say is that the new nobby nic is faster rolling and grippier than a HD?

Mountain bike rims are evolving wider and wider. Do you plan to develop a Procore that will fit these wider rims?
  • 1 4
Good question, I'm running 35-40mm internal rims on the rear of my hard tail now... and I doubt the procore will be designed for such widths.
  • 4 11
flag sd351 (Jun 3, 2015 at 8:44) (Below Threshold)
Any plans for a fatbike application?
  • 4 0
MK: We`ve tested the Procore system on rims up to 40mm (outer width) and it does work. Wider than this is actually not tested since the 27+ trend is very new. However we see it very interesting to also use Procore on 27+ tires as they are used with a very low pressure. We’ll continue testing and will react, either with a further extension of the usage allowments or with a 27+ specific Procore version.
  • 2 1
I have some 26" fat albert ust front tyres available at reasonable price, I'd like to know why they are designed as front only? is it thread design or wall thikness or too soft compound? because I intend to use them on the rear wheels too.
  • 1 0
Fat albert rear has a different tread. I used the front and rear last season, super grippy tire.
  • 2 0
JC: The Fat Albert Front tread pattern is optimized for front wheel use to provide the best cornering grip and traction. The “Front” tire also uses our softer TrailStar Triple Compound for added grip especially in wet conditions. (Fat Albert Rear uses harder PaceStar Triple Compound). Casing are the same between front and rear for these tires, so it’s simply a difference in tread and compound.
  • 5 0
What are 27+ and 29+ intended for ?
  • 6 0
MK: The industry pushes the 27+ and 29+ trend right now and I don`t think it`s a stupid trend, it just might not fit to everybodie`s riding style. I`ve tried it myself last year and think it`s great for rider that are scared of technical terrain. However a agressive trail-rider or DH rider will probably not like it.
  • 3 0
It's for amateurs. Just like we all thought.
  • 3 1
NOW im thinking to sell my new HD, i brought to ride at France and race EWS, if they dont hold more than 20 days there without side knobs tear off, i will never buy Schwalbe again
  • 5 0
So what you are saying is that you need a tube for a tubeless application?
  • 1 0
Cant have the high pressure inner chamber burping air into outer
  • 1 0
MH: You need a tube inside Procore, not for the outside tire. Due to its construction, the inside tire (Procore) can not be run TL. There is no hook to hold the tire.
  • 1 0
Time for a collaboration with a rim company to make a ProCore specific rim with two tire ridges (and hooks too?)!
  • 3 0
Which tires Nico Lau uses for Enduro racing whit Procore? Is Snakeskin tire strong enough whit Procore for racing (MagicMary, HansDampf)?
  • 1 0
SM: Nico last year at Tweedlove won the Enduro on a Magic Mary Snakeskin with Verstar compound (Firstride tire) in the front and Nobby Nic Snakeskin with Trail Star Compound in the rear.
  • 3 0
Why has no company stepped up to the plate and made a Kevlar bead DH tire (other than maxxis)? Will this system allow that to happen now?
  • 3 0
MH: Like our Super Gravity tires? They are foldable and 200 gramms lighter due to their special construction. The puncture resistance is almost the same, while the rolling resistance is close to a normal trail tire.
  • 1 0
Hi there from Kamloops, BC, Canada!
Just wanted to know if other, more economical versions of Procore will be developed in the future? Some of us are racers and some of us are just regular guys who like to ride whenever life (and time and $$) allows us to.

Thanks and please continue w/ developing great tires. Love the Nobby Nic that I have and the Hans Dampf that I tried!
  • 1 0
JC: Since this is brand new to the market and our line-up, along with the cost of R&D and production for the initial kits, we’ll have the one version for now. But that doesn’t mean we’ll be trying to continually improve the product, and in the future we could very well offer various versions. Cheaper, lighter, stronger... there are possibilities. Glad you’re liking the Nics and Dampfs! We’ll keep doing our part to bring you great tires.
  • 1 0
I've been using a similiar "tubliss' system for motocross with no flats in past 3 years. I love it!! I was hoping Procore would be available in December. Since then I have destroyed two carbon rims (back to aluminum now) and had about 15 flats riding almost every day on our rocky Santa Barbara trails. Save me! When can I buy them?
  • 1 0
JC: Hi dphreaner, it sounds like we really need to get you on Procore! That’s too many flats and ruined rims. You should be able to buy them within two weeks, speak with a local dealer and have them pre-order a set from us for you right now, so you can be ensured you’ll get one from the first shipment!
  • 1 0
Hi guys, I felt in love with schwalbe when I first tried the magic mary...
Now on 3 bikes I have 1 magic mary and 4 hans dampf. Waiting for the magic mary 27,5" to be available again in the shops to go full schwalbe!
Ah yes for sure I'm waiting for the procore too, I will need 3 of them ahah.. Will it be possible to buy just some parts of the kit? Let's say I want the procore on just one wheel, will I be able to get the tube, Procore and the airguide for just one wheel?

Thanks
  • 1 0
MK: Hi there, thanks for the question and we are very happy to hear that you enjoy using Schwalbe! At the moment the sets are being sold for Front & Rear wheels, however spares are available so you could you use it for one wheel, but we would suggest using it on both wheels and getting the full benefits of the system,
  • 1 0
Hey, I have 2 questions about the procore system. First does it work with any tubless tire? Second how can you (schwalbe) justify the expense of this system to a rider who rides for fun and does not need the absolute highest level of performance on their bike?
  • 1 0
MK: First question - Yes, anything which is Tubeless or Tubelss-ready / Second question - Comparing it to a lot of other tings we put on our bikes or ourselves, Procore has a massive influence on your bike and how it performs. This is something you might have to find out yourself so I don`t want to sell you something, but if you have ridden is once, you don`t wanna go back on a standard system, trust me. You will bring your riding to a whole new level and keep in mind, the system doesn`t has any wear like a tire. You can keep it for ages.
  • 1 0
MK: Hi, thanks for your question, yes Procore works with any Tubeless Tyre, you do however need to ensure that your rim is the correct width. Only you can answer if you feel you can justify the price of Procore, the cost of Procore is based on the expense of R&D and bringing this product to market.
  • 1 0
Schwalbe: i know this question was asked earlier, but could you be more specific: Why has it taken so long for Procore kits to finally start shipping, as announced in the past two weeks, and why in very limited quantities? Have there been issues with the product, and if so, what type of issue?
  • 2 0
MK: When we first brought Procore out, it was a hole different, new product to us. We had to develop it straight from scratch. During the process of development and setting up the production we discovered lots of small things we needed to change or ways to improve the system. It`s been a few changes which took time, so we couldn`t deliver the system when we wanted to deliver it, but now we`re happy it`s sent out and the feedback from rider and first customer is great so far. As for the qty`s, we can only produce and ship a certain amount of products every week. Procore has highest priority right now, but as you can imagine the demand is immense. We`re doing our best to deliver it worldwide asap to all customer.
  • 1 0
I'm really interested in the system, but primarily for dent protection. Will you guys end up offering a pack which is for one wheel and not two, mainly to keep the price down? Also, if I run procore in the rear only, will the ride quality change? posibily feel the tire on big hit compressions?

Also, with being compatable with all tubeless tires, will it work and seal with non tubeless tires? If I have a non-tubeless tire setup on my bike tubeless, will I be able to use procore without it being affected? (sealing properties of the tire)
  • 1 0
I recently purchased a pair of Schwalbe Magic Mary tires (Super Gravity, VertStar) and the rear has developed pockets of air under the tread. I'm using them with Schwalbe sealant. Have you seen air bubbles like this before? What is the cause?
  • 1 0
MK: Hey @chriskief - it`s hard to judge from here, but can you please get in touch with our office, so we can collect the tire and have a look at it? The contact info can be found here: www.schwalbe.com/en/haendlersuche.html
  • 1 0
Haven't seen it asked yet, but UK availability? I work in a ibs and have had them on order since December! Last time we spoke to our schwable rep we were told end of last month, our chosen supplier says middle August? (we have had confirmation of dealership)

Plus availability of spares? New valves, New inner ect. Nothing listed as of yet?

Also on tread patterns why are your out side knobbles facing outwards when everyone else in the industry toes the nobbles in? This seems illogical as it means your turning on a corner of nobble instead of flat edge? (again asked two separate reps, were promised an answer and nothing)
  • 2 0
MK: UK availability: Schwalbe UK and it`s wholesaler are awaiting products constantly that get forwarded to the individual dealer. Please let your dealer get in touch with Schwalbe to see when your set arrives, or do you have it yet?

Spares: All spares are listed on our website including article numbers: www.schwalbe.com/en/schwalbe-procore.html

U-Block tread design: We positioned these special U-shaped lugs, against the rotation direction - and so turned on its head the traditional thinking that lugs must run in the driving direction. We began by using U-blocks on our Downhill tires, with the Nobby Nic they worked satisfactorily. The U-shape of the lugs and the newly conceived lay-out arrangement provides even more grip in curves. Every tire wants to move outward in a curve, but with their forward facing, half-open serrations U-blocks fight against it. Less under-steer, more stability – restraint of curve forces.
  • 1 0
why did you have discontinued the muddy mary? i like the magic, but more for loose surfices, on something hardpack or rocky the knobes begin to bend and you loose a bit of precision
would be nive no have a tire like for normal riding like the muddy was
  • 1 0
Question about the systems weight. Can we expect it to be close to the claimed weight or shall we expect some large deviations like with your tyres? Never had a Maxxis 50g heavier than claimed. Never had a Schwalbe less than 80g heavier than claimed....
  • 1 0
What's the timeline on releasing some Schwalbe tires designed specifically to work with the Procore system to take advantage of it's benefits? Or through research and development was it determined to not be necessary and the solution is to just move down to a lighter weight tire already in production?
  • 1 0
Why not offer vertstar compound for 27.5 hans dampf? And also, why not offer vert star for snakeskin instead of just SG? For enduro racing, I like to use a snakeskin front, and SG rear, and when I get procore I will run snakeskin rear, I would like to have an option for vertstar on the front on a snakeskin. I run HD mostly, and sometimes a Magic front, which has a vertstar, but only in SG. With the procore system, I think offering a Hans Dampf, Magic mary, and even new Nobby nic in vertstar in Snakeskin will be a hot seller. Please, thank you. Also, any chance the hans dampf will get a redesign so the side knobs have more backing support to aid in the folding and tearing issue they have? I love the tire, but I get 1 practice day, and 1 race day out of a trailstar hans rear, after that it is no longer suitable as the side knobs have torn half way, I feel its mainly an issue with back support, as the magic mary last longer, and the new nics do as well with the wider side knobs on it.
  • 1 0
I've bought a few Schwalbe tyres in the last few months and love the feel and grip but I have had the side walls tear on the hans damf and Magic Mary both snake skin, the trail was not particularly rocky or rough. Pretty disappointed. I do have a magic Mary super gravity which is great but a little heavy for trail riding. I ride the same trails on a hardtail with another brand of tyre with no issues at all.
  • 1 0
I love Schwalbe tires, especially on the front, but for me in rocky areas the wear rate on the rear is unacceptably bad that I run a competitors tire. Yes even the Rock Razor doesn't last on rocks.

Is there a possibility that Schwalbe could make much tougher rear specific tire compounds so that the rear could last as long as the front especially for riders that do hundreds of kilometers a week?
  • 1 0
Firstly, I want to say that this looks like one of the most innovative and exciting products to hit the market in years. I look forward to trying some, and Schwalbe deserve credit for being so bold as to invest in the research and development for this.
Now. I must say that I'm hugely disappointed about the decision (seemingly supported by Schwalbe) of the UK distributors to only warranty procore fitted by approved centres. This feels like a closed shop, and is also insulting to UK users as it suggests that we are not intelligent enough to do it ourselves (and the rest of the world are). I would suggest finding another UK distributor; there are plenty around.

Off topic; I'd also like to ask if the nobby nics suffer the same degradation issues that the HDs did (as suffered by most of us it seems). Mine went in the bin I'm afraid; they just were not up to the task. The nobby nics look a good tyre, but I'm not spending all that lovely money on more bin fodder.
  • 1 0
Good afternoon. Where can I urgently purchase Procore? All of the online stores don't have it in stock and say it's available in 20 days or more. My friend's order from bikecomponents was only shipped six months after payment!!!
  • 3 0
Will reducing volume in the tyre air chamber (with the procore) change the characteristics of the tyre?
  • 1 1
Yeah definitely tire will be more progressive with smaller "air chamber"
  • 2 0
 Yep, was gonna ask.
What does pro core ' feel like ' to ride
Any noticeable difference?
  • 2 0
MK: By reducing the volume in the tyre chamber (Known as the Outer Chamber) it means that the tyre deflects and adapts to the terrain that it is riding over, by doing this it increases the surface area which in turn creates more grip and thus more speed, however it does not change the 'Characteristics' of the tyre.

Procore on a whole does feel different to ride at first as you will likely be running a lower pressure than you are used to but like changing anything on your bicycle after a while it becomes the norm, what you will notice is an increase in grip, especially cornering speeds.
  • 4 0
You feel a lot broker, but major weight savings in the wallet area
  • 4 0
 Haha
  • 2 0
Why tires like Magic Mary SG VS 27.5 are not available in Europe for more than half year? I checked shops in Poland and Germany from January Frown
  • 4 0
How does procore work with Carbon rims like Enve, with max 40 psi rating?
  • 5 0
MH: We don`t have an approval yet from Enve. Please get in touch with the guys from Enve if you want to use Procore on their rims. Since the Enve rim is very high, you might not be able to ride Procore on every rim they produce.
  • 2 0
What about any other carbon rim? Most have max pressures of 40-60 psi. Thanks
  • 4 0
MH: As we cannot give any approvals for any rims. Please contact the rim manufacturer. From personal experience I can say we didn`t had any issues so far with Carbon rims or any other.
  • 4 0
Enve is definitely high (on crack), thinking they should charge 2800.00 for wheels.
  • 1 0
I have a set on my Nomad. Never planned on getting them but they came with the bike. They are amazing wheels and their customer service has been better than any other bike related business Ive dealt with. Id buy another set just for that.
  • 1 0
Procore suggest being able to run 15-20 PSI for the outer tire. Has their being any complaints of increased rolling resistance? I'm assuming a hour long fire road climb at 18PSI would be painful.
  • 6 0
If you climb a road for an hour, take your time to inflate the tire before!
  • 1 0
MK: Correct, that`s what I do. You better carry a small pump or a cartridge if you`re in a race to at least pump your rear tire up. Well, I did this already before when I rode Super Gravity tires for Enduro.
  • 1 0
Hope I'm not too late here.....On the basis that you said earlier that you can go a casing lighter than usual when using procore, does this mean you will be releasing a vertstar snakeskin version of the magic Mary?
  • 1 0
MK: Who knows... We`re just in the very first steps of Procore. Maybe we will have Procore specific tires one day, but the market and our rider have to decide if this makes sense. Have a look on Firstride tires on our riders bikes. We`re right now testing lots of things.
  • 3 0
What is your projected profit margin on this product? You said ask anything....
  • 2 0
35% but shops may charge installation fee as well
  • 3 2
JC: Not as much as you may think! Probably smallest out of any of our products… we’re very excited about ProCore and we want everyone to have access to it at a fair price. It may seem steep but when you consider it as added insurance to protect your expensive wheel set… pretty nice!
  • 1 0
Hey Jeff Clarkson, remember me? What's the best way of getting air into my Racing Ralph TLE? They're on DT Swiss XR 1501 Spline, so they're easy to get onto the rim but next to impossible to get seated.
Thansk
  • 1 0
JC: Hey Aidan, each tire/wheel combo can be slightly different, depending on what rim strip, rim tape, tubeless valve etc. you’re using. If the tire seems a bit too loose on the rim you may need to use a thicker rim strip or additional tubeless tape. Feel free to give us a call and we can help you in greater detail. 1-888-700-5860
  • 1 0
Will there ever be any Magic Mary Vert Star DH available in 27,5" or have u guys just decided to screw over all customers that bought into 27,5"?
They are out of stock for ages now!
  • 1 0
MK: We`re trying to get the tires back into stock. Unfortunately all future stocks are already sold for weeks. However we permanently receive new shipments and deliver them to our customer.
  • 2 2
Rumours are that the whole set for two tires will costs 179 euro. Why is this price so ridiculously high as I can buy about 60 inner tubes for that price and you don't provide anything to be considered rocket science technology in comparison? And we saw at the first DH WC round this year that this system also fails.
  • 1 0
MK: Fail at first worldcup - please read first question. The development of a system costs you way more than what you expect. We need to produce new moulds, a whole new production line for the Procore specific valves and run a production. Please not there is also a margin for the dealer, wholesaler and taxes+shipping. In comparison to a carbon seatpost, the latest Enduro specific fancy helmet or ti-pedals, this investment is highly increasing the performance on your bike like nothing else you can buy for 179€.
  • 3 0
What's the deepest rim profile the valve will reach through? Some carbon rims are pretty deep compared to alloy ones.
  • 1 1
Why not just use a ghetto tubeless set-up? If done properly the tire and tube section glue together, eradicating the problem of burping... and it's light, and if you dent your rim beyond the bead, there is a tube layer which is able to continue to support your tubeless set-up. I've been using ghetto tubeless for a few years and -when done properly- I have had no issues.

see this for a proper set-up and tips and tricks: www.ridemonkey.com/threads/ghetto-tubeless-conversion-diy-tips-and-tricks.240026
  • 2 0
Gents, do you have a Canadian release date, and a MRSP in CAD for the Procore system? Being a heavier rider, I'm very excited to try this out!
  • 1 0
JC: ProCore availability for USA / Canada will be around June 15. Contact your local dealer and have them pre-order a set for you right away! The first sets are en route to USA now, additional quantities to follow soon after.
  • 1 0
Jimmy, MEC has it listed for "pre-order", but it's $250!
  • 1 0
 Thanks guys!
  • 1 0
Why cant i actually buy pro-core anywhere?
Its not available in any shops, the distributor has no stock and its nowhere to be found online?
are you having issues?
Why is there a delay?
  • 1 0
MK: Hi, thank you for you question, Procore is only available through selected IBD's (In the UK), Have you tried your local IBD, they should be able to order a set for you as the first stocks are hitting retailers now, the demand is very high and so we expect stock to sell through very quickly.
  • 1 0
Hi, thanks for the reply. None of my local bike stores can tell me when it is available. They tell me that whenever they try to order the guys at schwalbe UK cant give them an availability date. Its as if there is no stock at all. Why is this? It happened when the Magic Marys came out too...?
  • 1 0
MK: It`s pretty much the same with all new products. As the availability is always poor in the first times, we expect our dealer and wholesaler to pre-order, so we can decide which products are produced with priority. If you want a set or Procore, make sure it`s pre-ordered through your local bike-shop so he`s in-line to receive one of the next Procore sets that arrives in the UK.
  • 1 0
Are most rims strong enough for pro core? Many manufacturers state much lower maximum pressures ( 40 psi) than pro core uses.
And to echo others, what is the WIDEST rim that can be used, 35? 40? 50 mm?
Thanks!
  • 1 0
Obvi I'm not schwalbe and have no idea what I'm talking about, but my understanding was that for hooked bead rims the max pressure was generally about the lateral force on the rim sidewall- i.e. for a given rim width, the wider the tire, the lower the pressure. I remember some charts Mavic published to this effect. Why road rims and tires can take vastly higher pressures with the same beads, casings, rim extrusions etc. I'm guessing cause the inner tire is narrow it's not putting so much lateral force on the rim's bead and can be run at high pressures
  • 1 0
How much can tyre technology still be developed, like materials, treads... any new projects u can admit to be working on that will be a mayor change, maybe compatible with procore wich seems to already be one?
  • 1 0
MK: Judging by the technology we`ve seen the last 3-4 years, tire technology is one thing where we see the most potential at. We came out with Super Gravity, TL-Easy and nowerdays Procore. I`m sure there is a lot more to come. Lighter, stronger, faster are the objectives but also we try to find better ways to save the environment or make the usage of the tires easier for our customer.
  • 1 0
That seems to make a lot of sense, thanks for replying!!!!
  • 1 0
Whats the effect of runnig procore on sidewall stifness, in other words would procore at recomended pressures decrease sidewall deformation in a snakeskin tire compared to a normal tubelss setup with the same tire at 30psi?
  • 1 0
I'd like to try a Procore on the rear only. Will I be able to buy just one or will I be forced to buy a set? So far, it looks like you only offer in sets. Do I really need one on the front?
  • 1 0
Has anyone asked about the issue with knobs splitting?, what the cause is, is it a problem?, etc etc...I have heard it mentioned quite a lot in the forums and wondered if you had anything to say about it.
  • 1 0
Oh sorry this is not really a question about pro-core is it.
  • 2 1
What's the durability like on these? How will they stack up against a regular tubeless system? Will lead to more maintenance?

Cheers!
  • 4 0
JC: ProCore is a relatively low maintenance system and once installed doesn’t require much additional attention, aside from checking air pressure in the tire chamber and Procore chamber (something which should be done before each ride anyway). Procore actually makes switching tires and topping up /changing sealant much easier because it acts as a bead lock, meaning you no longer need an air compressor to seat the beads of the tire. Tire changes become faster and you can go ride right away after switching tires.
  • 1 1
Why did it take so long and what the problem was at the produckt I have already ordered a few months ago. I also swallow should enter your developments free until market maturity in order to Shops. sorry not cool
  • 2 0
Have you experimented with three air chambers too? A third chamber would allow varying the pressure in creative ways.
  • 2 0
MK: Haha, it might get very heavy and I`m unsure it would lead to a benefit. However, it`s worth thinking into all directions...
  • 3 0
marys in a cool skinwall perhaps?
  • 2 0
MH: Hmm, what colour would you like to see?
  • 6 0
 Black would be amazing
  • 1 0
Straight up tan skins. Pls and thnx
  • 2 0
Will procore blow up my ZTR Flow EX rims? Max allowed pressure for them is around 35 psi.
  • 1 1
I remember reading a comment from an employee at ZTR. He said the limit wasn't because the rim couldn't handle it, it's because tubeless tyre setups can't handle too high psi on any rim.
  • 3 0
that's horseshit from Stan's. their use of shallow beads allows the tire to blow off the rim. The only time this has ever happened to me in 13 years of using tubeless tires is on stans rims. Got rid of them, and haven't had that issue again. Slightly off topic but still...
  • 2 0
Funny thing is. I have been riding dh stuff for over 10 years been on tubless for 8. And the only rims I have not blown a tire off on is the flow ex. 721, 823 deemax. 729. Dt550. 819. Have all lost a tire. I run pretty high pressures to make sure I don't get to much tire roll and loose a tire. And with the stans rims I'm starting to trust running 26 in the front and 28 For me that is super low. I normaly run 32/36 at the park
  • 2 0
Would you still run sealant with these? Just in the outer tire though, I imagine?
  • 1 0
MK: Yes, only in the outer tire. Just like a normal TL-Easy tire.
  • 2 1
really looking forward to trying it, more for gains in suspension performance than puncture protection.
Its been on back order for seven months in Alberta CA?
  • 1 0
How do you compare procored Magic Mary tires, one in snakeskin model and other one in super gravity? Should we still keep using SG tires with procore setup?
  • 1 0
SM: You can keep riding the SG tire with Procore setup but it sufficient to use a snakeskin Magic Mary which is 200g lighter because the snakebite resistance with Procore is very good.
  • 1 0
It is still not clear to me if it would be more advantageous to run a Magic Mary Super Gravity or a regular Magic Mary combined with ProCore. Both would be about the same weight and provide outstanding pinch-flat protection.
  • 1 0
When will Procore be in stock and available for purchase in the US? It seems you released them a while ago but have never been in stock on the website.
  • 1 0
JC: ProCore should be on shelves in the US within two weeks! Keep an eye on our website and Facebook for an official update! The information had been released some time ago however sets are just shipping now. Thanks for your patience!
  • 2 0
Will there be single item replacement parts available in the event of an inner tire and tube puncture?
  • 5 0
SM: All parts of the Procore system are available as spares.
  • 1 0
When will single tyre options become available? In the demo video the rear tyre seemed to get the worst of it, so maybe a single tyre option would suit many riders better

  • 1 0
I think Procore is a fantastic idea and implementation (without needing two valves). So my question is when and where can I buy it in the USA? Smile
  • 2 0
JC: ProCore availability for USA / Canada will be around June 15. Contact your local dealer and have them pre-order a set for you right away! The first sets are en route to USA now, additional quantities to follow soon after.
  • 2 3
I will go procore as soon as it costs what it should about twice as much as a tube. hellz i will even go for 3x as much as a tube. until then I will diy it with wheel chair tubular tires, or that Italian guys identical product. And Yeah my minions wear down a tenth as fast as my nobby nics
  • 2 1
with how fast tube prices are rising you may get your wish sooner rather than later
  • 1 0
Will Schwalbe be producing the new design Nobby Nic in Super Gravity casing? In fact, why wasn't super gravity an option upon release?
  • 1 0
+1, Claim nobby nic is a gripper tyre than Hans Dampf yet the HD is offered in SG but not the NN.
  • 2 0
Would it be possible to get one day Magic Mary in pacestar compound, it would be good as rear tire.
  • 1 0
I am a little bit concerned about the length of the Procore stem and its compatibility with "thick" carbon rims. But I guess you tested that?
  • 1 0
MK: We`ve tested it with IBIS which worked and ENVE which didn`t worked. However, the valve (spindle) is 23mm long, so if your rim is 21/22mm high (insidesection hight) it might get tight. What rims are you riding?
  • 1 0
So far I don't have carbon rims Smile but I thought the combination of a lighter tyre, procore and a wide light carbon rim is attractive and safe with good performance. I would buy some "light-bicycles" rim. Thanks for the answer though, I appreciate, despite the "ask Schwalbe" is long finished.
  • 1 0
What happen if you have a puncture or cut in the procore tube? Is possible buy a cheap (10-20$) replacement? or you have to buy an entire procore set?
  • 1 0
MK: You can get all parts as a replacement. Check out the website: www.schwalbe.com
  • 1 0
When are you guys going to have stock? Im trying to buy lots of tyres for my country and panama´s dealer said Germany is out of stock until new advice. Thanks
  • 4 3
Obviously not started yet but can you make the sidewalls thicker on all tyres?

  • 2 0
Not a troll they just seem very vunrable to slash in the side even on the full protection ones.
  • 2 0
SM: Schwalbe offer various options on their tires. A Evo LiteSkin tire is only paperthick, but if you ride a SnakeSkin tire, you`re safe for any kind of Trailriding and Enduro. The Super Gravity or DH carcass is probably the thickest carcass you will find on the market.

Thank you for taking the question seriously. I guess it's so personal, everyone has their own favourites
  • 1 0
Does procore protect your tyre from being slashed in anyway

Also 15 psi is that not a bit draggy?
Cheers
  • 1 0
MK: No, your tyre can still be slashed but the TL sealant should help seal it. With a lower pressure the tyre creates more grip which in turn creates more speed as the tyre deforms to the terrain around it.
  • 1 0
What's the estimated lifetime of the procore system? Could it last up untill 3-4 seasons?
  • 1 0
SM: ProCore can´t really wear out. If you don´t damage anything yourself they last many seasons.
  • 1 0
Just came online. Sorry if it has already been asked. Is procore ok to use on carbon enve m90 rims?! Cheers
  • 1 0
If I have a tubless ready wheelset and tubeless tires, do I only need the procore itself and the tire sealant?
  • 1 0
You will only need the kit, tires are up to you. High volume, supple sidewalls
  • 1 0
MK: Having the wheels already converted with our high-pressure rimtape (!) you might only need the tube, Procore and the airguide. I guess you already have tire levers, sealant and easyfit. Get these three tings and you`re ready to go!

Steffi Marth can I marry you?!

 SM: What is your USP?
  • 2 0
What is the maximum recommended internal width compatibility?
  • 4 0
SM: It is tested up to 40mm.
  • 1 0
Why are the 27.5 Magic Mary Supergravity Vertstar tires always sold out? Demand to high, or underestimated the demand?
  • 8 0
SM: Because they are f***ing good ;-)
  • 1 0
Just looked in , when will it be stocked in Alberta Ca, Ive had it on back order for 7 months
  • 1 0
How was Syntace and Jo Klieber involved in the creation of the system and are they still involved?
  • 1 3
  • 1 0
thank you for still continuing to produce 26" tires , will the Procore be available for the 26" market ??
  • 2 0
Very nicely done on all accounts! Hat's of Schwable!

Steffi Marth is so hott! Geez those lips
  • 1 0
Oh please can you answer me this?, what is the difference between tl-ready and the new tl-easy. Thanks.
  • 1 0
MK: TL-ready was the name till 2014. From 2015 we only offer TL-easy tires:

A new sidewall monofilament fabric brings three advantages over the previous SnakeSkin fabric: Even better cut resistance, increased protection and most importantly it allows an extremely easy Tubeless conversion. The use of liquid sealant is necessary, but otherwise installation is just as easy as with real Tubeless tires. Time consuming conversion requiring intensive shaking and frequent re-inflation is no longer needed with Tubeless Easy. Tubeless Easy replaces both the previous Tubeless (UST) and Tubeless Ready versions.

Thanyou for the reply. Very kind of you. Can you please make a narrow Rock Razor so I can use it on Stanton Switchback as unfortunately the current RR is too wide for my frame. It fits but rubs when I pedal hard. If only...Smile

I have to say I prefered the look of the old Snakeskin sidewall over the new, looks wise. I'm not able to find a suitable rear Schwalbe tyre to use on my Stanton Switchback with the same Snakeskin pattern on as my front Magic Mary so I can match them up. Maybe I just have bad OCD.. Smile

I had to go with the new Nobby Nic in the 2.25 width which of course has the new snakeskin sidewall.

Unfortunately I nearly had to consider switching tyre brands to get something that will fit and match up front and rear. The only other option is to go new Nobby Nic front 2.35 and rear 2.25.

Even the Hans Dampf 2.35 is the same, too wide for my frame. You don't make a Hans Dampf 2.25 in Pacestar either.

When will Procore be in Stock in Europe?
  • 1 0
MK: Stocks are arriving with retailers now.
  • 1 0
Let's be honest! Why should I NOT buy a procore system for my enduro bike?
  • 1 1
 Cost!
  • 9 0
SM: To not make your riding buddies cry because you will be much faster than them and never stop for changing a tube.
  • 1 0
how come some of your tires are different color tread than the others

why did it take so long to copy a design from the moto industy that has been around for I think 4 years now?
  • 1 0
I've used the moto version as far back as 2008. Used it for half a season then got rid of it because it was way more prone to flats than just a hd tube.
  • 1 0
When will the procore be available?
  • 1 0
What does the name Shwalbe mean?
  • 1 0
SM: It´s German for 'swallow' as in the bird. It´s a sign for luck in Asia which is where the tires originally were conceptionalized.
  • 2 0
Is Hugh Hefner a silent partner? Translated.....Swallow Nobby Nic, Swallow Jumbo Jim, Swallow Dirty Dan, Swallow Thunder Burt, Swallow Marathon Plus, Swallow Rapid Ralph, Swallow Black Shark, Swallow Smart Sam Plus, Swallow Sam Slick, Swallow Black Jack, Swallow Fat Albert, Swallow Wicked Will, Swallow Furious Fred, Swallow Big Betty, Swallow Crazy, Swallow Rock Razor, Swallow Magic Mary ...
